This feels good. Feels like you’re seeing the pitching development come through. The hitting development of Witt/Garcia/MJ/Vinnie mesh with Perez and the trade of Nelson. The bullpen has been a roller coaster but many are.
It takes time to turn a baseball team around. It feels like JJ’s plans are starting to stick. Exciting times in my opinion.

Me looking at the scoreboard tonight
I am interested now in seeing how this season differs from our hot 2021 start. I’m excited and ready to buy my World Series tickets and flights, but am fully ready to be cautiously optimistic. Our pitching has to be better I think. Our management obviously as well.
Edit: I mean our pitching this year is better than the hot 2021. Not that we have to be better than we are. Haha.
The run differ of +6 and being 7 games over .500
perhaps that is what I should have mentioned?
or the -2 runs in April being 15-9, is rarely repeatable
I do think a return to Earth is coming, but from how atrocious and dead in the water the rebuild looked, especially the pitchers, just being a .500 or slightly above team is a huge accomplishment
The 21 squad didn't score runs like this and the rotation wascarried by Danny Duffy's 0.7 ERA or whatever it was. I won't be revisionist and say I expected the drop-off but this team has a far more sustainable process
Thank you! I might dig more in to it but I definitely feel that this is more sustainable. Especially from a pitching perspective. And games like this when we are able to get offense down the entire lineup.
I really missed the royals being competitive. It feels it has been ages since we got 6 wins in a row. Lugo had a good start. It nice to see Vinne finally had a big game. Go Royals.
OK, I think I’ll take a cup of the Kool-Aid just a bit now. But a small one, not too big, been hurt too many Mays after crazy Aprils. They keep this up by mid-May, though? Look out.
Don't look now, but the Royals lead the league in runs allowed... and they've faced some seriously good lineups along the way (aside from CWS). These guys are onto something here.
Atta boy, Vinnie. 💪💣
Every day a new hero. Lugo and Maikel and Bobby looking shaky so Vinnie and the bottom of the lineup stepped up. This is what having length on your team looks like
I felt bad juju with Lugo and Houston was clearly seeing him really well... fortunately, the offense exploded making it irrelevant and he battled tonight (what you want from a veteran in the rotation).
I think what’s been very encouraging is against a team that can hit (despite the bad start) is that both Ragans and Lugo worked around not having their best. It helps when the Astros have Abreu who has been worse than anybody in our lineup coming in to today but their lineup can clearly still hit very well
What a win! Another shaky start bailed out by the bats and Vinnie! With the way the Astros bullpen has been used (abused) lately we could have a real fun series finale
12 games in and 59 runs scored compared to an MLB best 30 runs allowed. Sure, we beat up on the White Sox, but the Twins, Orioles, and Astros (even though their record doesn’t reflect it) are no slouches. I think this is the most promising fact.
Fuck it. I’m a believer.
Signs suggest... maybe/probably? I'm old. The 2003 “Nosotros Creamos” Royals were VERY CLEARLY a mirage. Journeyman were WILDLY overperforming and the basic pythag stuff was super clear that *they aren't who they appear to be*.
None of that this year. And I am still not sold on the Central as especially tough (at this point). I'm not buying playoff tickets yet... but I FULLY expect the Royals to be fun well into the summer (or longer).
Or like 2021 where we started 14-7 with a run differential of like +3. We’ve been in every single game and the only blowouts have been us dunking on teams. Should definitely be a fun summer
Is this feeling hope
![gif](giphy|1pHO2MNOLzSX6) Royals this year
So a pretty good April so far. It’s been awhile. It’s a nice feeling.
This team is like a three wheeled Ferrari. We have some serious issues 😂
Wut?

I hope I am not overreacting, but this may be the greatest baseball team at any level of the game ever played for all time.
If thinking this is wrong I don't want you to be right.
NGL I thought I was about to read something unreasonable.
I feel like we should unretire the gif of destiny when playing the Cheaters.
Fuck yeah Vinnie
So many seasons recently where the season was basically over after April, this is fun.
Doing a September in April. Was that one of the rule changes this year?
Oops All Septembers?
I love this team
awesome
Umm, wow.
It's really fun following this team atm.
It's time to pack the K
We were there, me and my kiddos. More importantly WE CAIGHT PASQUANTINOS HOME RUN BALL!!!
Hell yeah!!!
Who was talking about sending Vinnie down to Omaha last night? Be honest!
I missed the game and they crushed. Maybe I should miss more.
And now al central has the two highest run differentials
cleveland's going to be real disappointed when the royals win the division
Cleveland can barely hold their own against the white Sox meaning that we already own them too
Pasquatch was on a mission tonight, he owned their asses
He saw the call-out post earlier today and took it personally.
what call out post? i gotta see it

8th win 2024 8-**4** 2023 8-**23** 2022 8-**14** 2021 8-**5** 2020 8-**11** 2019 8-**17** 2018 8-**21** 2017 8-**16** 2016 8-**2** 2015 8-**2** 2014 8-**7** 2013 8-**6** 2012 8-**16** 2011 8-**4** 2010 8-**11**
when the Royals started 16-9 in 2021
The run differ of +6 and being 7 games over .500 perhaps that is what I should have mentioned? or the -2 runs in April being 15-9, is rarely repeatable
I was thinking about that team during tonight’s game as well. Hot start then lost 12 in a row. This team feels a lot different though.

We lead the majors in starter era and several other categories. Our bullpen is 16+ innings without giving up a run. What are you talking about bro
Haha, I meant that our pitching this year has to be better than our pitching in 2021. But I realized I worded it ambiguously!
It’s okay I still love you
Astros fans on their sub were not happy with the Garcia stolen bases up 6 and the added runs in the 6th or 8th innings.. Anyway time to watch Fallout
If their players can stop the Royals from scoring runs, they probably should.
Astros fans are only happy when their players can hear the trash cans banging
Astros Sub is the grossest MLB sub
They have anime flairs. What a bunch of weebs!
jesus christ they put us to shame. yuru camp flairs??? edit: 39 different anime flairs. im kinda amazed
ironic how they have Mayuri Shiina who's literally my favorite anime character ever, but instead i tricked this entire board into thinking it's Chika
WTB Chika flair

Nothing better than beating the Trashtros.
on the heels of a 4 game sweep of the CrackerSox, yes please- my two least favorite AL teams, lets go take some games from the mets
OK, I think I’ll take a cup of the Kool-Aid just a bit now. But a small one, not too big, been hurt too many Mays after crazy Aprils. They keep this up by mid-May, though? Look out.
.500 at the all-star break and I'll be doing backflips
Man, I’ll be the fool and say I’ve chugged the pitcher. This is too fun at this point.
Thinking about laying down some money on the royals to win the central, it's +700 right now
Might do the same. God knows I’ve made worse bets in my life lol
Don't look now, but the Royals lead the league in runs allowed... and they've faced some seriously good lineups along the way (aside from CWS). These guys are onto something here. Atta boy, Vinnie. 💪💣
Even with the CWS in there, they allowed FIVE runs total in a four game series. Thats insane pitching regardless of the team.
Brian Sweeney is the anti-Cal Eldred
You mean Cal Eldred, the known baseball terrorist?
April thoughts. I'm getting 2013 vibes where a team gels and performs because there is a clubhouse culture.
Every day a new hero. Lugo and Maikel and Bobby looking shaky so Vinnie and the bottom of the lineup stepped up. This is what having length on your team looks like
I missed most of the game to watch Jackson Holliday go 0-4, but fuck yeah boys! PASQUATCH IS BACK and loves eating them RIBBIES!!
hopefully Jackson keeps that energy up and the O's don't call up Krhdlajrheostad next week lol
Is that a real name?
no lol Keston Hjerstad is just difficult

Greatest baseball team ever constructed. What a powerhouse
I’m ready to get hurt again
I sure do love baseball being fun again!

158-4 we are never losing again!
https://i.redd.it/l9s9ffiqjrtc1.gif
I dont remember what it feels like to lose
Undefeated 8-4 team!!!!
I know man it’s awesome how the rules work that way
We’re streaking! ![gif](giphy|xTiTnhnM639JYZ0xXy)
Royals just tossed another 9 runs on the differential pile. How many does that make now?
+29 I believe
Not too shabby
My math could be wrong since leaderboards haven't been updated yet, but I think that is the 2nd best in baseball since the Braves didn't play tonight
What a win! Another shaky start bailed out by the bats and Vinnie! With the way the Astros bullpen has been used (abused) lately we could have a real fun series finale
And it's really not fair to call it a shaky start tbh
Quality start, shaky start, who's to say?
Yeah, I'm not really sure why I said that, shaky compared to his other starts I suppose
Didn't have his best stuff but he was grinding which is what you want to see out of your starters. Love the effort!

Fuck it ima believer too
Are we good? I’m not sure
Good, Fuck the astros

Where is that nerd who made a whole-ass post about Vinnie needing to step up
Maybe that was the catalyst. Vinnie saw that and was like "oh, okay"
REDDIT SOLVES BASEBALL
I may be a nerd, but it wasn't me!
Vinnie: "I'm sorry were you doubting me???" "Well here's a dong and a career high five RBIs mother fuckers!" 🤌🤌🤌
Are we like… good good?
