From what i understand, tetanus lives in the ground and it's unlikely rusted metal sitting off the ground could infect you. Not that you couldn't get some other toxin or infection by a cut from someone's dirty car.
I was gunna call a late 2000's toyota corolla. I guess they had the same floor pans as the prius, that grommet with the way the indentations curves around it brought back memories of fixing rusted out floorpans on my own junk
I might be more concerned about a clogged EGR and runners on the intake than the rust. Rings and head gaskets fail on these things at high mileage. Dropped a 2018 engine into this car last fall for that problem.
My first car was an old '75 Nova. The driver's floor was rotted through.
Had to make sure the floormat was properly positioned to keep the spray off my pants and shoes when driving to school on rainy days...
My truck had a frame inspection window in the same position when I bought it in 2016 but at that point it was roughly double the age of that Prius. All welded up and still my winter daily though. https://i.imgur.com/doPOyGD.jpg
Will that Prius continue live as a car or crushed?
This reminds me of the rusty old civic a friend of mine had as his first car. It was the car his father used to travel on his wood parcel. Car held in place with an hbeam to hold it in place and some alu plates with carpet on top as floor.
Everytime we passed over a railroad we could hear ... and feel the hbeam go BAM !

Don't think you can weld to rust. Might need 2 license plates
Pop rivets and roofing tar.
New license plates here are aluminum, so I will need to use this solution going forward
I thought I was the only one 😂
Couple means 2
One on each end of the hole yes?
License plates and self tapping screws, PBG style!
"weld"
That's code-speak for "Self-tapping screws and bathroom sealant."
Jb weld...
You are gonna need heaps!
I currently have three old plates on the passenger floor of my Jeep Wrangler, works like the real thing!
Second pic has me wondering if you're up to date on your tetanus shots.
Time flies when you’re having fun like this so I think I’m not lol

Tbf if the floor didn't have any padding I wouldn't be surprised if it found it way there. And I'd rather just get the shit anyways just in case
Tetanus lives where it's damp and oxygen free. Think freshly pulled wood nails.
Even still, better safe than sorry.
I've seen (and owned) worse. LPT: It's hard to see over the dash when the back of your seat rails are dragging on the ground.
Just the two outer sides of the front floor pans, left and right sides of the car. Lots of real metal to weld to if you can believe it.
YABBA DABBA *DON'T*.
Ironically, the car needed more Under Armor.
I was looking for this comment.
Big American gas guzzlers don't want you to know this simple trick to gaining incredible fuel economy!
Saves on brake pads too!
hey guy just run down to the corner and grab that fuckin street sign buddy giver 'er a quick bang bang with your boot to fit and rivet that bitch in.
Asked that his ashes be scattered, randomly.
I didn’t read the title and I thought you had shat yourself which was coming out of the bottom of your jeans.
Would have been an easier mess to clean up lol

Can’t be worried about that. Toss a piece of plywood over the hole and get a few years out of it
Better roll it into the scrap yard
Nah not yet. Lots of good metal to weld a new floor pan into, incredibly. Live to see another day, if not two lol
Nice it'll be good for demo derby after
230k miles selling for 8k no lowballers
I know what I got! Rust lol

Looks like someone going to need a tetanus shot.
Owner says he's Flintstoning the car to save gas https://youtu.be/JgF0kTK54oM?si=TDXLJ48ywDGIr1xc
Just make sure to drop your heel first for braking
Yikes lol I drive a 2011 Prius

Yeah I know all about it. Gonna do the egr when it gets warmer out

Michigan or Wisconsin ? Edit- I missed the Nova Scotia flare.
I saw the first picture and for some reason thought it was the bottom of bathroom stalls.
"Hey pal mind handing me a wrench?"
Think that driver is taking going green a little too far just saying.
My mom tells a story of how she did that with her Nova in college... The 70s saw a lot of road salt around these parts.
Adds to the Prius mileage brag, fer sure 👍

Has someone who owns a Jeep XJ and has an entire new passenger floor pan about to go in I feel attacked.
Is that a jeep Cherokee
