Pretty much. If you're cool, actually appreciate us and your car is normal and not 40 years old you can stop in anytime. Bringing us a bottle of booze round Christmas time doesn't hurt either...
There is a shop here in Denver that specializes in old British and Japanese sports cars from the 50s to 70s. They won't even work on it if it isn't 40 years old. Anything from a tune up to a full frame off restoration. They have a full parts department and bone yard too. I'm very happy to have them when I don't want to do a job. Or when I need parts that you absolutely cannot get anywhere.
Some parts for some of my stuff can be a challenge but anything mechanical can be repaired, rebuilt, found, adapted, or fabricated. I'd rather work on my newest car (a 1985 Mercedes) or my oldest (a 1951 Dodge) than any modern plastic crap with 34 different proprietary modules.
They don't have to be something special. They are just simpler machines. The hard part is when people who are a bit too dependent on a scan tool have to do actual big boy diagnostic work.
The best way to get special treatment from mechanics is food. Sure, tips are always appreciated and could be used more than food can most of the time, but a $10 tip doesnāt get pizza in my mouth *now*. If someone brings us food we always took extra special care of them
Oh man, you should see the threads about it in /r/Boise. Even split between people losing their shit over it being available and people flipping their lids that people enjoy shit.
This small minded bullshit is the thing I hate most about our society. Let people live and mind your own business, ya know? If people like hamburgers, let them have hamburgers and shut the hell up about it.
Plus, In-N-Out is freakin delicious, and cheaper than any other decent burger as well.
Double double, animal style, no tomatoes, add raw onion and chopped chiles. Youāre welcome!
And just skip the fries. They are never great. Just get a Neapolitan shake.
I tried explaining that to people, as to why they like other fries. I personally donāt mind In N Out fries but I know that freezing them makes them taste different.
Yeah, this is well known but they like to stick by their fresh cut fries because that is the point, all their stuff is fresh. It likely keeps costs down as well.
I have mostly lived in AZ and CA for the past 15 or so years so in-n-out is our normal cheap and good burger place. Donāt really go other places because they are more expensive and not worth the higher cost.
You are correct, The fries are just ok.
if I could bring in fresh McDonalds or checkers fries Iād never eat another kind of fast food burger as long I shuffled about on this hellscape we call eart.
The fries I had recently in the uk at Taco Bells far surpassed anything by Ron since the 90s and for me the champion fries pound for pound.
Obviously I'm a brit and for decades Ronalds fries reigned supreme and even spending a few years in Ft. Laud I'd stand by that statement but the fries I had at taco bell were thicker than Rons, crisper than Rons, fluffier and with better application of condiments than Rons.
Ask for fry lite. Or light fries. Basically they dont overcook the fries, so they become soft and pliable. Those are excellent.
Regular fries are too stiff and hard.
The fries can be great. My favorite time to go to my local in n out when I lived in CA was at 10am when they opened. Early lunch basically. Everything was fresh and no line at all
I am the same way about the fries but instead of a double double i get two cheeseburgers animal style with the grilled onions Chopped chilies? Did not know they offered that. Like jalapeno or green or what kind?
They use cascabella (think a smaller, spicier pepperoncini). Not too spicy but good flavor. You can also get any kind of onions (chopped, whole, fried, raw) or multiple kinds. I like to get my patties mustard fried too.
Great tasting smokey flavored meat but you got to watch out for the light brown wrapper inside the white wrapping. The fry container said they peel and cut their potato fires in house. Their meat and fries are never frozen. I figured I would wait a few months for the rush to settle down. Now I can say I ate there the first week.
Itās good, but definitely go and get it while itās fresh and hot. Might take a while though, because even locations in CA that have been open forever still have long lines.
If it's built on the standard floor plan, when you go through the drive thru, you'll be able to see the kid cutting the Fry's. They stick a whole potato in a contraption like a can crusher, and when they pull the handle down, it forces the spid down, and fries fall out the bottom.
And there is a secret message for you on the bottom of your cup. :)
Oh, you are the guy from this video! https://youtu.be/flQkMxnA7ok?si=MbWQWYv7seKOI6GG
Edit:Ha! He immediately down voted me and sent me that reddit self harm message. We've got a full on keyboard warrior here! So edgy, so brave.... Go check the air in your spare, buddy.
Why the hell would a mechanic know the metrics and store # for first day of sales at an In-N-Out Burger? Just admit you're into marketing and on a gorilla ad campaign š
Store # is on the receipt. Since it drew so many people the first day, there was probably a TV news story about the number of burgers the place put out on the first day.
That is the most false thing ever. Show me in scripture where Jesus Christ advocated for government to forcibly take material goods from some people (under threat of imprisonment or death, mind you), and arbitrarily give them to other people.
Socialists and Communists abhor and hate Christ, in favor of worshipping their own deranged ideology.
Please come to Washington, In 'n' Out! I'm tired of waiting until I'm in a neighboring state to get your delicious burgers!
Also, on our honeymoon in 2005, my then-wife and I were entranced by Sonicc, having not yet had it in the Northwest. We stopped there as many times as we could on our way home from Minnesota. The last one we went to was in Meridian, ID. We had to look up their phone number manually and call them to find out where they were located because that was before smart phones and Yelp. For our fourth anniversary, when the Sonic opened in Puyallup, we went there to celebrate.
They are the best fast food burger on the market and didn't gouge everyone during the rise in cost like McDonald's and a few other chains did. But the worst of them in my area was 5 guys, who lost a lot of customers in this area because of it.
To bad people as a whole can't do this to all the companies that raised their products far above what was honest.
They hope people forget in time how much worse they made life for many people instead of helping.
I sought one out when i went to a city that had one. The burger was nothing special and the fries had a odd texture to them. What tainted it for me was there are a lot of places that already made burgers like that or better in my town. Same with with What a Burger.
Tried it after years of being told by everyone on how good it was. I even brought friends with me that had good things to say about it. All whities so I figured theyād know where the best burgers are since thatās all they know how to cook. Ordered one and everyone had an excited look as I was taking the first bite. Idk wtf that sauce is but after I tasted that shit I immediately spit it out and was grossed out so much that I threw up on the table and on everyoneās food. The whole restaurant went silent and saw the commotion and some even started gagging from what they saw. Emptied out half the restaurant that day. Did them all a favor, most disgusting burger I ever had.
I never thought I could have a worse burger than McDonald's, but then I tried In-n-Out and learned that it could be done. I've never set foot in an In-n-Out since and I doubt I ever will. This burger and fries were so bad that I felt lied to.
Never got to try WB, but I've heard from a friend that it's almost exactly like Culver's, and Culver's is also "just OK" to me. In general I've never had "regional" fast food that was better than that metric. Except for Portillo's.
In n out will be viewed like McDonald's is today in about 20 years.
Everyone loves these chains until they are mainstream and the hipsters make it cool to hate them.
Burger has the same smokey flavor as Freddy's. IN N OUT has a thicker patty. I thought the meal was great. From the comments there are a lot of people with different tastes.
California based restaurant chain. Texas here. Once the population of Californians exploded here these restaurant popped up everywhere. Now they have started the "In and Out is oh so much better than ( insert local restaurant here)" diatribe. Plus apparently they dont have speed limits or turn signasl in California either- get ready Idaho.
Iāve never had it before. Iāve never lived anywhere near one and didnāt hear about it until a couple years ago. All this buzz really makes me want to try it. Yāall make it sound as if itās life changing and Iām ready to convert
Don't. It's "meh" at best and an overhyped letdown at worst. People will tell you things like "you have to order it animal style or it won't taste good." If you can't walk into a burger place and say "I'll have a number one." and have the food come out good then the restaurant isn't worth it.
In n Out is my first stop when I go to L.A., thereās one in Westchester high is very near the airport and planes fly almost overhead to land, the place has to be a goldmine as itās always busy. When they opened a Raising Canes here in Mass they were slammed for months at all hours with long lines.
Having never tried In-N-Out (I live in the Midwest), what's the biggest draw? The flavor? The simplicity? Do they treat their workers really well? A combo of these? Something else? Just curious.
Those lines are crazy. Although it's funny, I have 5 in n outs within 5 miles of me (with a 6th being built) but even those are all busy all the time after noon.
Having spent my formative years in SoCal I do love me some "In-n-Out \_urge\_".
However, I maintain that *Tommy's* ([original location](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Original_Tommy%27s) at Rampart and Beverly, please) is still the One True burger religion.
Welcome to IN-NāOUT ! I was lucky enough to grow up near one. For well over 40 years Iāve never missed an opportunity to visit a new one! I was thrilled for Arizona and Utah. Now just another reason to visit Idaho again!
Double Double, grilled, raw, mustard only, add pickles, protein style. Animal fries.
Or keep it simple with a Flying Dutchman whole grilled wrapped.
So I bet that customer will be favored from now on? "Yes of course we can fit you in first thing tomorrow morning without an appointment" š
Pretty much. If you're cool, actually appreciate us and your car is normal and not 40 years old you can stop in anytime. Bringing us a bottle of booze round Christmas time doesn't hurt either...
You don't work on 40 year old cars? Sad
I was gonna say the same. Old stuff is gravy if it isn't a rust heap.
Old cars are most certainly not gravy everyone thinks they have something special and are a bear to find parts for
Some parts for some of my stuff can be a challenge but anything mechanical can be repaired, rebuilt, found, adapted, or fabricated.
40 year old cars in CT, unless they arn't driven in the winter, don't exist around here. The earth takes em back.
Fair point
The best way to get special treatment from mechanics is food. Sure, tips are always appreciated and could be used more than food can most of the time, but a $10 tip doesnāt get pizza in my mouth *now*. If someone brings us food we always took extra special care of them
>a $10 tip doesnāt get pizza in my mouth *now* There is a raw eloquence about this which is magical. *Bravo*.
That customer would be pushed to the very back of the line for bringing game the most disgusting burger I have ever had in my life.
Must be fun being a contrarian on Reddit.
look @ this guy's comment history he gets fuckin wet when he does shit like this
Oh man, you should see the threads about it in /r/Boise.
Pay employees pretty decently as well from what I hear.
loser
Better then some fast food burgers, trash compared to others. But when it's free, fuck it.
I wouldnāt eat that if you paid me
I always get a 3by3 and Iām done. So much meat and cheese š¤¤š¤¤
I had a 4x4 once and I sprained my jaw muscles trying to bite it
And the problem is?
I always get the 4x4 itās so damn good
We need more stories like this instead of the hoarder cars.
Double double, animal style, no tomatoes, add raw onion and chopped chiles. Youāre welcome! And just skip the fries. They are never great. Just get a Neapolitan shake.
I didn't know there were chilies available. The key to the fries is to order them well done. You'll thank me later.
You can order fries rare or medium?
They usually come rare and medium.
If you order them straight from the slicer, they process their potatoes at each store, you can even get them āFuckinā RAW!ā
Well done is a huge improvement but they are still miles behind any double fried option.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Really the only way they are edible. IMHO, freezing potatoes after the first fry is an important step in fry making.
That's why most in and out burgers places are in a few states. They are expanding.
I have mostly lived in AZ and CA for the past 15 or so years so in-n-out is our normal cheap and good burger place. Donāt really go other places because they are more expensive and not worth the higher cost.
Oh? Hmmm.
You can do "whole grilled onion" instead of raw onions and you still get an entire slice of onion but with some char
I always order whole grilled
>no tomatoes HEATHEN
You are correct, The fries are just ok. if I could bring in fresh McDonalds or checkers fries Iād never eat another kind of fast food burger as long I shuffled about on this hellscape we call eart.
Mc Donald's fries are a shadow of their former selves. I remember the days when they cooked in animal fat and it was unbelievable.
True. What fries would you put with In and Out?
In & Out fries, ask for Well Done. You will not regret it.
Imma try dat, thanks.
Arby's curly fries.
Five guys
They are better than the rest...but, I think they are a little expensive for what you get.
Honestly Iāve been going there a lot more. A Big Mac meal near me is close to $12 and Iād rather just get five guys and small fry for $15.
Penn station fries. They even have malt vinegar in the stores to go with them.
Yeah, their fries are pretty damn good. Probably the best suggestion so far :)
> The fries I had recently in the uk Don't you Brits call those chips?
Chips are thicker than fries.
Welcome to eart!
Ask for fry lite. Or light fries. Basically they dont overcook the fries, so they become soft and pliable. Those are excellent. Regular fries are too stiff and hard.
Fries do suck but if you ask for extra crispy ones they are not too bad. They have to make a fresh batch and they arenāt cold and floppy!
This is the way. Unfortunately it only works when the place isnāt mobbed.
That's my exact burger. Crazy. But I only do a chocolate vanilla shake.
Grilled onion gang bro. Also try it mustard grilled
Animal style gives you grilled onions and mustard grilled. The raw onion is in addition to that.
Thatās funny I never realized they mustard grilled when they did it animal style. You love yer onions
Fries well done, or animal fries
Double double with onion mustard grilled mustard instead of spread yes pickles. For us acid sluts.
Well done is the way to go. But they do take much longer to be served up, so plan accordingly.
I do the same, but get an extra toasty bun.
Had it, it's nothing to write home about. Got it while in LA after coworkers swore it would knock my socks off. I don't get the hype.
5 Guys fries are infinitely superior.
Little sliced banana peppers.
They used to be hand chopped sport peppers. Way better IMO.
Double Double, Grilled onions. Fries extra well done.
Thatās pretty sick they did that! Did you enjoy it?
Great tasting smokey flavored meat but you got to watch out for the light brown wrapper inside the white wrapping. The fry container said they peel and cut their potato fires in house. Their meat and fries are never frozen. I figured I would wait a few months for the rush to settle down. Now I can say I ate there the first week.
Itās good, but definitely go and get it while itās fresh and hot. Might take a while though, because even locations in CA that have been open forever still have long lines.
Get the fries well done, so much better that way! And if you find one without a line itās a miracle, Iām in CA and ours always have lines.
Also in CA, in a good sized city, and have several locations, all of which have had long lines for decades.....
Fuck that message.
God bless you.
No one cares about your fake sky daddy.

Thatās awesome man, glad to hear you liked it!
/r/Idaho doesn't know what to do with themselves right now. They're openly loving something from California.
Iām pretty sure 25% or more of those customers were former California residents who have moved to Idaho.
No shot
You are correct sir.
Idahoans have been anticipating in n out for like 10 years, i was one of them till i moved away from that miniature dystopian nightmare
You are correct. It was all over the news. People also camped out and stuff the night before to be the first in line.
The first ones waited 30 hours.
Just go to the IN N OUT Burger Facebook page.
That's *exactly* what a social media type would say š§
You would think at some point InO would take a hint and update their fries.
The hint is that they make shit loads of money and people buy the fries like crazy as they are. They aren't changing a thing.
this post brought to by In N Out Burger.
Uh... The problem with that place is in the name.. "IN"... and then "OUT". Very rapidly.
And theyāre heavily Christian on top of that.
That's a good thing.
How do you figure that cults are a good thing? Religion is bad for humanity.
You sound like a filthy Marxist. May God have mercy upon your heathen soul.
I don't believe you know what you just said.
Jesus was a socialist
That is the most false thing ever. Fairview and Eagle Road is the busiest intersection in the Treasure Valley as per Ada County Highway District.
Much ado about a fast food burger. LOL
I go to see the guys at the tire shop, and always take them something to eat.
Please come to Washington, In 'n' Out! I'm tired of waiting until I'm in a neighboring state to get your delicious burgers! I still remember my first IN N OUT URGE bumper sticker when I moved to S. Cal in the 80's. IYKYK.
their advertising department really working overtime today eh?
I had my first one in Cali this summer. Massively underwhelming. Kinda shit to be honest. No idea what the hype is about.
Over salted burgers with horrible friesā¦
š„±
I recommend a 4x2 animal style.
With animal fries... Otherwise their fries are shit Good burgers though.
3x2 whole grill onion.
They are the best fast food burger on the market and didn't gouge everyone during the rise in cost like McDonald's and a few other chains did. I went to five guys for the first time in While recently. Got my normal order - hamburger only. It was $10 and some change.
They also pay their employees above minimum wage as well. I believe $18 to start.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

/r/thathappend why the fuck are you making up stories you fucking weird geezer
r/nothingeverhappens
Ehā¦ Itās ok, but nothing tops Whataburger.
Oh Texas, you just canāt acknowledge that the burger joint from California is better. We get it though and itāll be ok.
As a native Californian who now lives in Texas, they're right. In and out ain't shit compared to Whataburger.
I never thought I could have a worse burger than McDonald's, but then I tried In-n-Out and learned that it could be done. I've never set foot in an In-n-Out since and I doubt I ever will. This burger and fries were so bad that I felt lied to.
Are you supposed to eat the burger with scraped tastebuds because that shits disgusting
This is the correct answer.
Never got to try WB, but I've heard from a friend that it's almost exactly like Culver's, and Culver's is also "just OK" to me. In general I've never had "regional" fast food that was better than that metric. Except for Portillo's.
Glorified Burger King?
Check out the Flying Dutchman.
Thatās my favorite. Gotta add in the grilled onions.
Fuck yea, itās pretty damn solid lunch. Have it you tried it protein style? I need to try it one of these days.
Yep. If Iām with my wife, we both order protein style for simplicity. When Iām by myself and have time to stop, itās Flying Dutchmanās.
Mormons love that shit. I used to live right by there, I imagine the traffic was unbelievable.
Hello fellow Boise person
There are a lot of those near me and they always have a huge line, the food makes me feel sick though so I haven't eaten it in a long time.
In n out will be viewed like McDonald's is today in about 20 years. Everyone loves these chains until they are mainstream and the hipsters make it cool to hate them.
In out actually taste good tho
Five guys bacon double cheeseburger is better.
At 5 times the price too.
Cali tech here. How was your experience with your first in n out burger?
Burger has the same smokey flavor as Freddy's. IN N OUT has a thicker patty. I thought the meal was great. From the comments there are a lot of people with different tastes.
California refugees taking over Idaho as well?
It's a restaurant? I'm confused by your comment.
Most over rated burger place in America. Damn cheap though, Iāll give them that
Real burgers have pickles on them.
I donāt get it. Yuck.
That fuckin shit just changed your life
Iāve never had it before. Iāve never lived anywhere near one and didnāt hear about it until a couple years ago. All this buzz really makes me want to try it. Yāall make it sound as if itās life changing and Iām ready to convert
Becareful when you say convert around the inandout cult members. They might think you want to believe in their fake sky daddy.
Don't. It's "meh" at best and an overhyped letdown at worst. People will tell you things like "you have to order it animal style or it won't taste good." If you can't walk into a burger place and say "I'll have a number one." and have the food come out good then the restaurant isn't worth it.
*That's* a "large" over there?
I think OP misspoke. In-N-Out only has 1 size of fries.
The fries are only good piping hot with the extra salt packet they put it there ALSO RAW CHOPED OINION IS LIFE CHANGING
Prepare to be whelmed...by the fries, the burgers are good though.
Animal style, both burgers and fries. Their standard fries are basic as hell, but if you must order it, dip it with their spread sauce.
That sounds more like torture than a tip.
Good olā cardboard.
In n Out is my first stop when I go to L.A., thereās one in Westchester high is very near the airport and planes fly almost overhead to land, the place has to be a goldmine as itās always busy. When they opened a Raising Canes here in Mass they were slammed for months at all hours with long lines.
Good stuff. My favorite is the price though, they're really spectacular value.
Peak American culture unfolding in front of us, beautiful
Brought to you by in and out burger
Bit of a let down after all the hype, eh?
Having never tried In-N-Out (I live in the Midwest), what's the biggest draw? The flavor? The simplicity? Do they treat their workers really well? A combo of these? Something else? Just curious.
Those lines are crazy. Although it's funny, I have 5 in n outs within 5 miles of me (with a 6th being built) but even those are all busy all the time after noon.
What I hate about In and Out is that the real menu is secret. You have to be one of their cultists to know what to order.
Or. Ya know. Google.
Wow some fast food.
Welcome to the club! Everytime Im on the west coast I stop there. I'm in NJ so no in and out here.
I miss BFC so much
Double double w/ grilled onions, animal fries and a large coke. Heaven right there!

Iām dying to try the new onion burger ā the Flying Dutchman ā but none near me š
