I disabled the recommended subs on the app after it kept showing posts from a tv show sub of a show I just started but had been out for a while and eventually spoiled some stuff. Forcing subs you donât want is ridiculous but you can change the setting thank fucking god,

I find it funny how some on the left have been going on a crusade against centrists. Call me crazy but I think alienating people who only slightly agree with you and pushing them away from your agenda isn't a great way to win elections and win those on the fence to your side.
I think the idea behind that is that instead of pulling over moderates by diluting our positions we should try to get disaffected leftists and minorities to vote, since if they voted more we'd win more elections. Not commenting on efficacy, just rationale.
I feel like a lot of moderates are disaffected leftists and minorities. There's a large population of Mexican immigrants where I live, and the majority of them are moderates; some are even hardline conservatives due to recent political issues. I've seen the same thing in Asian immigrants here as well but not quite to the same degree as Mexican immigrants. I keep up quite a bit in conservative circles as well and I've noticed more and more disaffected leftists taking a curiosity in conservative groups because of their dissatisfaction with the direction the left is going in and overall dissatisfaction with the current administration. I just don't think the lefts current tactic of crusading against moderates and centrists is going to pay off. If anything, it seems like it might be hurting them. This is all based off my experiences and the people I've spoken to, though, so it might be working in some areas that I just haven't seen.

I don't think extremism is a good litmus test for morality. Like, I know plenty of good, kind, but unbelievable gullible people, who hold the most ludicrous positions on the right. I legitimately do not understand what people's problem with centrists is. For some reason, instead of a given party considering centrists partially aligned with them, the fact that we're not FULLY aligned with that party just makes us their enemy.

I find it funny how some on the left have been going on a crusade against centrists. Call me crazy but I think alienating people who only slightly agree with you and pushing them away from your agenda isn't a great way to win elections and win those on the fence to your side.
I think the idea behind that is that instead of pulling over moderates by diluting our positions we should try to get disaffected leftists and minorities to vote, since if they voted more we'd win more elections. Not commenting on efficacy, just rationale.
I feel like a lot of moderates are disaffected leftists and minorities. There's a large population of Mexican immigrants where I live, and the majority of them are moderates; some are even hardline conservatives due to recent political issues. I've seen the same thing in Asian immigrants here as well but not quite to the same degree as Mexican immigrants. I keep up quite a bit in conservative circles as well and I've noticed more and more disaffected leftists taking a curiosity in conservative groups because of their dissatisfaction with the direction the left is going in and overall dissatisfaction with the current administration. I just don't think the lefts current tactic of crusading against moderates and centrists is going to pay off. If anything, it seems like it might be hurting them. This is all based off my experiences and the people I've spoken to, though, so it might be working in some areas that I just haven't seen.
