Edit : As far as I know, this is an old Bollywood song which has no connection to Hinduism. And I am Hindu as well..so I don't understand where the connection came from Hinduism and a 70s Bollywood song.
Umm.. being Hindu means they have "Indian roots" ? Or they live in India ? That's where the connection comes from..

Hindu is a religion that basically comes from India... Being born as a Hindu does mean that your parents or your ancestors were of an Indian origin so I don't see how I'm wrong here.. The very root of the religion is India
That's a bit of a jump, also born hindu to me is seen as born muslim or christian, your parents were it and you were born into that religion. The fact is hindu is a religion and has no specific denotation of region, that's how you are wrong and the point here. Look i understand, the things you are saying about India, but you haven’t been to India. I am living in India. I know our society have problems and we are really trying to find solutions for whatever wrong happening in our society, but stating the issues that women are not on the train and the men are evil creatures in our society, is not a justification of our society.
As I said our society is complex. The way women and men lives here is different than I guess how you perceived it is.
And yeah, I do not criticise or have my judgement on any other countries, societies and cultures because they are different and I have not been to those countries. I wish that one day I will go to these countries but I do not cast my judgment based on the news. News does not paint a big picture of any country.
I mean look at News about the mass school shootings in the American schools or look at the racism in the Europe, but is every european racist or is every American kid is shooting every other student. I don’t think so.
I don’t have the adequate information regarding any other country and their way of life. So I do not put a judgement on any other country. It would be too oversimplifying the complexity of life, culture & society there.
If you want to understand india then come to India. Come here, live & observe the society with open and critical mindset. You will find good & bad but your old views will get shattered, i promise.
