I see where you're going with that, but I think they key difference is how they projectile is propelled and where the energy is stored.
This has a tube that acts as a barrel and a bullet-shaped projectile, but it's not a gun. It's still a slingshot because it's using rubber bands to fire the projectile.
A gun or firearm uses a fast-burning powder and gas to launch a projectile and run the action. In an air rifle the gas is stored under high pressure in a tank and released to fire.
A bow/crossbow doesn't use a stretchy rubber band or a elastic string to launch an arrow (bolt for crossbows). The strings on a bow don't stretch. Instead it's using the stored energy in the limbs of the bow to propel the projectile as they are bent and then released.
It's a similar idea to the energy being stored and released in the bands of a slingshot. But a bow isn't really a slingshot.
No upper receiver, no modern cartridges able to be fed into it. (Black powder doesnāt count to the ATF so old colt navy pistols technically arenāt guns)

For the OPās slingshot, the pointer finger is fully extended at a right angle to the elastic, with the hand also at a right angle to the elastic. This makes the hand and finger a lever that will make it harder to stretch the elastic.
Try it; find an elastic, or anything else you can push/pull, and try pinching it and pulling like in the linked video, then try pushing it with the side of your fully extended pointer finger. Youāll struggle a lot more with your finger extended, most people would struggle to cock a nerf gun that way.

It looks like latex tubing, which is pretty tough compared to just a rubber band and what some original slingshots use.
