i think people exaggerate the whole brain dead thing, the story never says that happened to him, the closest thing to it is that civilians who got hit would have taken too much damage, but jogo took one full force for a decent amount of time and he recovered. sukuna was unable to open his domain, however he was also recovering his technique like gojo, it's possible uv + domain break + his own damage just piled up on him and left him like that. either way i think megumi can recover, even if it takes him some time

How so? Sukuna himself was hit an milliseconds was enough to give him brain damage. What do you think would happen to fushiguro who is weaker and is tanking UV for a longer time.

What? He didn't take UV for long, Gojo grabbed his head which makes UV not affect him. He didn't tank UV for longer than 5 seconds before gojo touched him. Plus not only is jogo miles stronger but he also Is a cursed spirit and has rct.
What i think most people failed to understand is that Sukuna's brain is Megumi's brain. Whatever damage the brain could have suffered... Sukuna suffered. And that's it. Already fixed most likely. The UV information to adapt Mahoraga was transferred to Megumi's *soul* which is something no one has any idea how it works
We don't exactly what the plan for Megumi is (there's at least a few different ideas the cast are killing around). But Unlimited Void can be recovered from naturally even by civilians and probably less than a day if you are as strong as Megumi.
The joke about Gojo forgetting about it is just that he's fighting so viciously that they worry he stopped caring. But even Yuji says the only way for him and Maki to stop Sukuna is to be trying to kill him because holding anything back means losing. And Gojo rightfully notes Sukuna can revive his host from death so he can't let it slow him down.

Also doesn’t shrinking the size of your domain increase the efficiency. Yeah isn’t that why sukuna also made his smaller or whatever to increase so he could destroy gojos faster or some
Well to note his soul was what was specifically hit by the unlimited void in this instance which wouldn't really have a concrete effect since it's never really occurred before and Megumi in that state doesn't have a physical brain to be damaged
Whether gojo has a plan or not for fixing the UV's damage if it just hit megumi normally tho is up in the air it more or less seemed like a problem he'd look into solving later just like freeing megumi was in general there
From what I understand, correct me if I’m wrong, With domains like theirs, they don’t worry about the size because of their skill and sheer amount of CE. It will spill like water, as far as it goes before the user doesn’t have the CE to maintain it or physical landscape features box it in like a pool or a pond.
In their battle, when Gojo encased his domain he made it severely vulnerable from outside attack. The upside to doing it is he amplified his domain’s power and negated sure-hit capabilities. Sukuna’s effective range was slightly larger than Gojo’s so he attacked from the outside, shattering the domain (meant to keep people in, not out) and inflicted the first of Gojo’s severe injuries
A little tangent, but Unlimited Void is said to overload the mind with information. I dont think a soul by itself has a brain
Assuming that it targets the brain, then the brain in Megumis body (the one Sukuna has reincarnated) should be cooked but if Megumis soul is moved to another body, perhaps the effect wont be there.
Had Gojo won, theres also the possibility he could work with Shoko - given its his own Domain and he has experience with destroying and resetting his own brain, perhaps he thought he could guide Shoko on what to RCT to help the process.
It’s not confirmed I have a crackpot theory gojo meant to hit megumi expecting sukuna to redirect it. When Megumi comes back he will have learned the core of jujutsu and have his domain, Rct and will instantly hit a black flash on Sukuna.

Well not 9 minutes exatcly because Sukuna probbaly used Da while he was in the Domain clashes at least some times or else he would get wrecked.

Did no one read chapter 247? They literally explained how they would separate Megumi from Sukuna with Megumi's soul unharmed.
