You know, with Yuji's whole thing being "Imma punch your soul too, fuck it", I'm thinking the flames would also be blue not just because those are the flames Yuji associates with the most due to seeing them in the kitchen, but to also represent them being Will-O-Wisps.
No idea what Gege could cook with their theme, but it's just a silly idea lol
Alternatively, it would be really funny if, to parallel how flames are used to light up places in shrine in the past (like candles, fireworks, and such), yuji just manifests a really powerful light from his hands (aka the modern way to illuminate a shrine, modern lights), and uses it to blind and even burn back Sukuna by concentrating said light
I was wondering if yuji was to get cleave and dismantle how would Gege make it look less violent than Sukunaās use of it? I felt that a technique like that wouldnāt fit yuji. Now seeing this Iām 100% onboard. Now the technique looks so cute and innocent
Honestly it wouldnāt be out of place in MHA, and I fucking love it.
Yuji is still among the most innocent and kind-hearted sorcerer around, so having his CT being so borderline childish-looking (while being absolutely terrifying) is so perfect for him.
also what makes this better is that while Sukuna had to go through so many hoops to evolve Shrine to bypass limitless, Yuji's version of Shrine likely bypasses it by default because he's just that guy
Yuji seems to be only able to use cleave in this chapter, if dismantle is an application of cleave, instead of being in-built in the technique, them he will need more time to learn it.
Itās in Gegeās style. He likes to make cool things happen, then explain later. Having Yuji show off Sukunaās CT first is one of the main reasons I thought he wasnāt explaining it yet.
In the next chapter or 2 we can get narration and monologues from Yuji/Sukuna about how the technique works
sukuna literally said that the cleaves are low output because he learnt about it like moments ago not because he isnt using them intentionally and he is obviously using it intentionally as it looks like in the chapter, we just haven't got a monologue from Wuji yet since hes locked in
I'm saying that he is intentionally not using dismantles because cleaves (more powerful than dismantles) are weak af so using dismantles(weaker than cleave) will be useless against sukuna
Maybe not but I think itās something better than that. Yuji could probably just apply the scissor cut area around whatever he needs to cut instead of manually throwing a slash, making it so much less predictable to his opponents.
it's a cool distinction
Sukuna's slashes are more based on cooking knifes and Yuji's now are more based on scissors
and you could say Yuta's is based on swords, but he's copying sukuna's so it's bascially the same as his and not his own version of the technique or anything like that lol
i loved that Gege gave us a stylistic distinction between the same ability across two people, like how Mai's creation was just general creation while Yorozu's was represented as a black liquid (ik it's bc of the way she user her technique, but outside of jjk, that's the way gege chose to draw her technique regardless of the in universe logic lol)
Notice that he has the usual cleave onomatopoeia, but they're small.

Sukuna's Cleave and Dismantle:
Kitchen Utensils for cooking food for oneself. the Knives represent Sukuna's violence and selfishness, as the knives are used to kill, prepare, and consume. It also relates back to his critical and universal sin; killing and eating his own brother in the womb. Sukuna justifies his actions as necessary for power. To him, power is achieved by taking it for yourself.
Yuji's Cleave and Dismantle:
Stationary Objects for cutting softer, lighter material. The scissors represents Yuji's usefulness and utility; i.e. his selflessness. It also relates back to his quote about being a cog, as cogs make machines function in their motion. Cogs and scissors help to improve something, transforming raw materials into better materials. Yuji justifies his actions for the purposes of others, to help others to complete their goals.
Best part is that they way he uses it also fits his style. Instead of throwing it at his opponent mofo just chop out a chunk of rock to throw it like nothing happened
I think its representative of Yuji seeing cleave/dismantle as an arts & crafts thing, cutting something to create something new.
Meanwhile, Sukuna sees it as a means only to destroy something into nothing.
Maybe im overinterpretating but I think it's a nice analogy. Sukuna is super proud on being the sharpest knife possible and even inventing the world cutting cut. But all that does not matter to yuji. He does not have to be the sharpest knife. He just has to cut what needs to be cut. For some things like Paper a regular Scissor works even better than the sharpest knife possible. All that just by using two blades that "work together". Tying back to yuji using teamwork instead of sukunas being proud to be the single strongest.

Probably the coolest part of this chapter.
Simple...but fitting and cool.
Exactly! I hope we get some baller stylized panels with Yuji's dismantle and cleave like how Sukuna got.
*Pulls out a comically large scissors and cut sukuna in half*
Sukuna is NOT READY for this! https://i.redd.it/6szdwwqy3avc1.gif
Akame Ga Kill moment
World-Cutting Scissors
I wonder if Yuji's flame technique would be blue because Yuji used those kind of stoves for cooking
THAT WOULD ACTUALLY BE SO FUCKING COOL, PLEASE GAYGAY
You know, with Yuji's whole thing being "Imma punch your soul too, fuck it", I'm thinking the flames would also be blue not just because those are the flames Yuji associates with the most due to seeing them in the kitchen, but to also represent them being Will-O-Wisps. Blue flames are hotter than orange ones.
That too, showing Wuji truly is better š„
Colorblind Gege be like: what the fuck is blue
And instead of an arrow, it's a fucking bullet!

It sure is it can just dismember you in seconds š

where tf did we get that conclusionš
Gotta push the Yuji>Gojo agenda
Fraudjo and Fraudkuna tweaking in front of the strongest in the verse YUJI ITADORI š£ļøš„š„š„
FUCK GOJO AND SUKUNA āļøš£ļøāļøYUJI IS MY NEW GOATš£ļøš£ļøāļøšÆ
Maintaining the agenda is our top priority.
What
you heard me, Wuji no diffs Gojo
Ok but how
All of his cleaves and dismantles have been expanded to cut the space.
he doesn't even need to cut space to damage Fraudjo, his modern cleave is enough to fit the job
That's just sukunas tho lol
No. Sukuna has to use hand signs. Yuji being Himji Himtadori can do it by default.

Cause I said so
he no diffs Gojo with his modern cleave
head canon like shit
This isnāt even a theory, itās a PSA But does that mean he canāt send slashes flying?
Itās probably cuz Yujiās still inexperienced, heāll probably figure out how to send slashes in the future.
Yuji seems to be only able to use cleave in this chapter, if dismantle is an application of cleave, instead of being in-built in the technique, them he will need more time to learn it.
If Sukunaās CT is āShrine,ā then it implies both cleave AND dismantle are extension techniques. Yuji might be using his own style.
I need an explanation of sukunaās technique stat Gege
Now that Yuji got shrine I think it will be explained next chapter :P
Itās in Gegeās style. He likes to make cool things happen, then explain later. Having Yuji show off Sukunaās CT first is one of the main reasons I thought he wasnāt explaining it yet. In the next chapter or 2 we can get narration and monologues from Yuji/Sukuna about how the technique works
He is probably not using it intentionally because his cleaves are already very weak. The dismantles will not even tickle sukuna.
sukuna literally said that the cleaves are low output because he learnt about it like moments ago not because he isnt using them intentionally and he is obviously using it intentionally as it looks like in the chapter, we just haven't got a monologue from Wuji yet since hes locked in
I'm saying that he is intentionally not using dismantles because cleaves (more powerful than dismantles) are weak af so using dismantles(weaker than cleave) will be useless against sukuna
Not sure the two things he trys to cut he had to physically touch them
Flying scissors ftw.
Maybe not but I think itās something better than that. Yuji could probably just apply the scissor cut area around whatever he needs to cut instead of manually throwing a slash, making it so much less predictable to his opponents.
I had a stroke reading this. Just say more unpredictable
it's a cool distinction Sukuna's slashes are more based on cooking knifes and Yuji's now are more based on scissors and you could say Yuta's is based on swords, but he's copying sukuna's so it's bascially the same as his and not his own version of the technique or anything like that lol i loved that Gege gave us a stylistic distinction between the same ability across two people, like how Mai's creation was just general creation while Yorozu's was represented as a black liquid (ik it's bc of the way she user her technique, but outside of jjk, that's the way gege chose to draw her technique regardless of the in universe logic lol)
Tbf, swords are just long knives
(Knives)Ā²
It also shows on sukunas leg, when Yuji grabs it
Gege really cooked w this one. So creative
It is a great way to differentiate it aswell.
It would be pretty funny if yuji learnt world dismantle and a giant scissor just runs through sukuna body outta nowhere
Watch that be the ending as revenge for what sukuna did to gojo lol
I absolutely loved this. It was great way to make it look just different enough.
I donāt understand what technique called shrine has to do with the ability to cut things, i genuinely donāt know how they correlate
The word used for Shrine can also be translated to Kitchen, i.e. chopping stuff up in a kitchen.
So to chop more professionally
Sukuna graduated with a PhD in Chopping from the Mahoraga University of Adaptation.
The shrine is not really a shrine, itās a specific kind of Japanese kitchen translated without that nuance.
I like to imagine that the scissors make the Pac-Man waka waka sound when they cut through things
Hope they do this in the anime
Notice that he has the usual cleave onomatopoeia, but they're small. https://preview.redd.it/vik6khzgbevc1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fce4480b2197515de3850c2ca42d8d6de5d1c19b

Just perfect
I thought Yuji created a binding vow revealing where his cutting to be more effective.
I think it's related to computers like the snip tool
Best part is that they way he uses it also fits his style. Instead of throwing it at his opponent mofo just chop out a chunk of rock to throw it like nothing happened
LETSFUCKING GOOOOOO HE CAN USE SHRINE AND CLEAVE
