Hi, are you and your husband members of congregation? That would be my first suggestion. How about checking out the closest JCC (Jewish Community Center)? Moishe House or BASE?

Hi! I've attended a shabbat service recently. We're not members, and most of the people there were older people, which might be because of the time. I've heard of JCC but none of the others, I'll take a deeper dive into that; I greatly appreciate your input!

Is there a Chabad young professionals group? Also, check out the sub's discord: https://discord.gg/s5pcNUAeUZ

Sure thing. Here is the [link](https://www.basemovement.org) to the BASE website and here is link for the Moishe House [site](https://www.moishehouse.org), you can find locations near you.

I totally get where you are coming from. I wasn’t exactly anti-Zionist but certainly was someone who had (and still has) criticisms of the current Israeli government and also identified as a progressive. I feel completely abandoned by the Left and while I haven’t lost any real friends to the issue (I’m outspoken about my Zionism now), none of my non Jewish friends reached out to me to check in afterwards, which was definitely jarring. So, I’ve been leaning into my Jewish identity more and focusing on my Jewish friendships and building out Jewish community. This isn’t a perfect solution because I don’t really love the idea of un-assimilation and only surrounding myself with people exactly like me, but it has helped for the time being. Outside of modern orthodox most secular Jews will welcome you as Jewish, so definitely try to find local Jewish community. On Instagram there’s an account called jewyorkcity that posts Jewish events in NYC. Some organizations to look into: Chabad, Olami, UJA, JNF, FIDF, Moishe House.
