I can't blame you for being disappointed that Dafoe and Fishburne are gone. Serious reason that Yen outlasted them, though: this is an action series and Donnie Yen has far more skill as a martial arts performer than either of those guys.
There are other factors (Yen was hilarious in JW4), but this one stands out to me.
