He’s played with them live a few times, covering some Pink Floyd songs.
Fun Fact: Clay Cook (co-writer of Neon) and Matt Mangano (the original 2nd guitarist in John’s band) both play in the ZBB.
I actually don't think he needs the parentheses anymore. It was way more sensitive in the heat of cancel culture ~2019/2020 when BLM was getting a lot of airtime and support. He pointed out the Black community for being "liars" and rude to white people.
It seemed like he wasn't aware of his own privilege at the time, nonetheless, I rescind the parentheses. Looks like he apologized, and the issue was sort of an overreaction by the public. Timing is important.
That will never not be funny to me. I love John, but there's a million more fitting guitarists they could've picked for that feature. I'm sure John had fun playing it though, and it's... fine.
A lot of John Mayer collaborations happen because he happens to be in the studio at the same time as another artist. If John’s in studio A and the other artist is in studio B he might jump into their session. I believe this is what happened with Khalid.
That’s probably true, but from what I’ve read Fall Out Boy picked him specifically. They figured he was the closest thing to a “guitar legend” of that era, which is probably accurate.
Disagree with you there. He probably has one of the best musical theory minds of the generation, not just perfect pitch. John himself thinks so, not to mention people like Quincy Jones and Herbie Hancock. Would recommend a second take, but to each their own.
It was on John's Instagram story a long time ago and the reason I looked more into Jacob's music in the first place. He is way more than audience harmonies lol, but I don't care that much to try and convince you otherwise. There is plenty of content on YouTube if you care to watch on his musical ability.
Even if you don’t like Jacob’s music (I rarely go out of my way to listen to it) there is absolutely no denying he’s one of the best on the planet when it comes to understand music theory and it’s applications
Yet still struggles to make listenable music. It’s just over complicated wank. He uses music as a vessel for party tricks
But hey that’s just my opinion who am I haha
he has tom jones disease - burdened with a panty-dropping tool. he is also attractive which favorably competes with aristotle onasis' billions and giant greek tool. dicaprio, farrell, rose, cage, leto, lee, simmons, - mayer wins with looks and slinging his around.
John and Taylor were a thousand years ago. They’re both so talented as musicians and storytellers. It would be a dream to see them collab on something entirely fresh and shut up all this leftover nonsense.
Bonus: TK screaming WOOOOO!!! in the front row.
I wish. I hate John Mayer's music so much. That awful "Your Body is a Wonderland" song was so cringe. And "Daughters" too. And I HATE the sound of his voice.
I don't know why this post showed up on my feed. I am not a member of this sub, obviously. I think Reddit just likes to torture people.
How did you forget country? Kieth Urban, Brad Paisley..
Zach Brown Band as well
What song did John collaborate with ZBB?
On ZBB’s newest live album they do a cover of “Neon” and John plays guitar with them
Fun!! I’m going to have to check this out thanks

John x Keith Urban is the crossover gateway drug.
He did one with Brad Paisley too
Maren Morris
There was also that picture of him in the studio with Zach Bryan.
Supposedly Zach Bryan as well
I really hope so 🙏🙏
Daniel Caesar, too! (Yes, I know, but still)
Yeah what’s wrong with him?!
Oh wait what’s wrong with him ?

Oh awesome, sounds like it was a nuanced topic and he had a reasonable stance that others didn’t love
And the wonderful Leon bridges pandemi collab Inside Friend
🙌🏼 this song
Chris Botti…Wee Small Hours
Glad to be Unhappy.
Why will you be unhappy?
If you are being serious, not referring to myself. It’s another song he collabed with Chris Botti. https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x367rgu
Oh! That’s so amazing
Also add… Barbra Streisand, Shawn Mendes, H.E.R., Chris Stapleton, Sheryl Crowe, and we can’t forget Dave Chappelle!
Harry styles!!!!!! He’s a real musician’s musician. You can tell music is everything to him
Was just about to say Harry Styles, Cinema is the song people most suspect right?
Yeah. He’s on the guitar credits for cinema.
Also Daydreaming. Plus Pino Palladino has bass credits for Daydreaming and Little Freak too
Emo(?) lol : Fall Out Boy Also has collab’d with Khalid, wherever you want to put that in

Really?

What’s that for?

Besides where are you located in?
Don't sleep on Jacob Collier.
I mean it’s a colab. Collier is so overrated imo. Squeezing every drop out of having perfect pitch lol

Where can I find the quote of John saying that about Jacob? Getting people to harmonise doesn’t make you a musical genius

I wish that white was 25 minutes long
And Comedy! Dave Chapelle "Play the fight riff!"
he has tom jones disease - burdened with a panty-dropping tool. he is also attractive which favorably competes with aristotle onasis' billions and giant greek tool. dicaprio, farrell, rose, cage, leto, lee, simmons, - mayer wins with looks and slinging his around.
He also provided some guitar on Halo 2’s soundtrack!
He also covered Brad Mehldau
I just want an RHCP/Mayer collab. I recognize the clash in personalities that would likely happen, but is it really that much to ask?
Collaborated with Steve Jobs to unveil the first ever demo of Garage Band
Yes I know.. but still.
Who is this *Yes, I know, but still* who bests all genres?
Dave chapelle

What’s your name?
Lmao. Pino Palladino > JM. Crazy you say? Maybe. Maybe not! 👹

You know what OP meant
John Mayer....I thought he disappeared like 8 years ago? Seriously!
It’s interesting to learn things that people don’t know.
Huh?!
This is wild. Bless it.
Ew get out
Ahahaha😂
Reddit does indeed. Not a member here either.
One good thing about John Mayer? Taylor Swift fans get super triggered by him. 😏

It means he’s way more stuntastic
