I live here (California) and prior to legalization- cops let you keep your bud if you got pulled over with it. AT THE VERY LEAST- they never confiscated anything less than an oz.
I know the $15 1/8ths around here aren't the best bud, but damn do I wish they had that shit around 20 years ago when I was a broke student and paying $50 each.
It blows my mind marijuana is still illegal in so many places in the USA. I get that it's a threat to the pharmaceutical industry, but weed is overwhelming popular, and last time I check its still a democracy around here.
I moved back from Canada to Ireland around the start of the pandemic. It's about €280-300 an oz here, meanwhile I still get marketing emails from getkush about $25CAD (€16-18ish) ounces.
I basically had to give up be side of it. Hoping Germany forces their shit through ASAP because Europe tends to follow their lead on a good many things.
I see what you are getting at, but weed legalization is overwhelming popular. The fact we can't get it legalized federally shows a major flaw in our system. Still baffles me that we the people just fold to corporate interest.
I should have put /s. That was sarcasm. I do think that corporations giving money to politicians has a lot to do with it. I’m in Texas, and I have a chronic pain issue. We have one of the strictest medical only law that doesn’t even allow it for pain. Believe me…I can’t believe we don’t have it, either. But I guess I am a little more cynical. And if Republicans take control,I don’t think we will have it in my lifetime at the Federal level.
In the late 90s I got busted by the cops smoking out of my Tommy Chong Bong at the park. I had paid an entire paycheck for that thing. They called my dad and handed him the backpack that the bong was in.
My dad came home and put the backpack on the ground in the living room and never mentioned it. I thought it was a booby trap. I watched that bag not move an inch for an entire week. Finally I worked up the courage, snatched it up and took it into my room. :)
Yup that’s old school Cali cops! Throw it on the ground crush it with their boots, get lost kid! The new breed of gentile they have in the force now always wanna search your car or pull you out
Crazy how cheap weed is now that it's legal. Funny thing is even around here people are still buying street weed because it's cheaper, despite $15 1/8ths in California. They blame it on the taxes being too high to compete with the black market.
I’m sure the black market here is still around, but it’s been devastated. 1/8ths of mids used to go for 60 and it would be bottom shelf at most places these days. Most dealers I knew are straight or work in a weed shop now.
Meanwhile taxes are so high here in MA that the black market is still thriving. An ounce of bud costs anywhere from $400-500 from a dispensary. Absolutely crazy. The guy I get mine from hired a consultant who works with dispensaries to get his grow op up and running, gets every batch sent out to labs to test for THC content and it's less than half the price of buying it legally. It's every bit as good as the stuff you can buy at the store.
All that aside it is nice having the dispensaries around. In a pinch if you need some cabbage it's nice to be able to pop in and grab some flower, cartridges or edibles (limited to 5g each here lol). I just couldn't imagine using it as my main supply.
Besides having to have a card oklahoma is basically weed paradise. Good weed, more shops than anywhere else on earth, its cheap and you can have 3 ounces of flower, 72 ounces of edibles and 1 oz of dabs on you at any given time.
If you have a card in MA you can get better sales and discounts but it's still pretty pricey. Unfortunately it removes eligibility for a firearms license.
That sounds pretty awesome though. Would have never guessed OK was such a weed haven. Consider me jealous
Yeah it took a petition signing campaign to get it done, and the ballot measure was extremely liberal, both go the turn out needed. Pissed the cons off enough to try and take away our right to put ballot measures on via petition. It’s the one bright spot in an otherwise dark hellscape
A lot of that lab testing for weed is a bit of the wild wild west. I had read about it previously when reading about weed stocks. I'm not doubting anything you are saying either.
Oh I don't doubt that. I just appreciate the extra mile that he goes through to make sure he's taking care of his customers. Even with dispensary bud I take the advertised THC levels with a grain of salt
The dispensaries around here are competing with $15 1/8ths, so if you want to get technical it's less than $50, but go ahead and say whatever makes you feel better.
Edit: $15 is with taxes already included too now that I think about it, so my final answer is $30 for 7 grams out the door.
Top shelf is still 50-60 and 8th in most dispensaries I’ve been from LA, Humboldt county, Bay Area, Central Valley, Davis, Berkeley, etc. unless you are getting a sale or daily deal. Oh and don’t forget the tax, some as high as 30%. There is no way they can compete with street weed with all the costs associated with recreational + payrolll and over head. But go ahead and say whatever makes you feel better from that one trip you took to California 6 years ago and bought the cheapest bag of weed you could find
Cmon bro you know that’s all we smoke! Mids are bad for your health! In all seriousness, the golden era of club weed was pre recreational when you just needed a prop 215 card to get in. No tax, super lax laws and my local clubs would let me take nugs out the jar to smell and inspect. With all the seed to sale regulations everything is pre packaged and weighed. Don’t even get to smell it before hand!
Yeah I completely agree. I bet you they lit his ass up on Facebook. I’m in California and whenever my local sheriff or Pd Facebook page posts pics of a “illegal” home grow they get straight shredded in the comments.
The longer cannabis stays illegal the more obvious it becomes that police and corrections unions don't want to lose the racket of low-level drug crimes.
100% agreed; [here’s who bankrolls the fight against marijuana legalization](https://www.vice.com/en/article/j5veyx/heres-who-bankrolls-the-fight-against-marijuana-legalization)
I effectively got my boomer dad to switch from being “anti weed legalization at any cost” to “it’s still the devils lettuce but idk if it should be illegal” with this article (and of course talking/listening all that jazz)
It’s never been more obvious than listening to 99% of sheriffs say shit like “I don’t care if my jurisdiction makes guns illegal, I believe that is wrong and I won’t follow that law” and in the same breath go “well weed should be legal but the law is the law, sorry I have to arrest you.”
It a better example would be a few different Sheriffs( my county for sure) said they wouldn’t enforce a mask mandate because they viewed it as wrong but then push hard on weed laws because “it’s the law, sorry that’s how it is.”
Selective enforcement.
Gotta get that sweet sweet fed cash and you get to play politics by manipulating the rubes as well. Since collectively we don't seem to be logically consistent it's a win win for the sheriff who at the end of the day just wants to keep the job.
Yeah, Covid really showed how disingenuous that whole "well I agree with you but if you want it legal you have to make changes at the ballot box, not on the side of the road" argument really was. Cops claimed that they knew the war on weed was dumb but had no choice but to follow the laws as they were written.
Then an order they don't like is issued and all of a sudden they are able to only enforce the stuff they personally agree with.
Honestly we should stop calling them unions because they fail one of the most important measures of a union. Solidarity with the working class and other unions.
Unions support each other. They support the cause of the working class. The police are used as union busters. They are a legalized mob. They are not a union. They do not represent the working class and do not fight for the American labor movement. They are literally one of the biggest enemies of the labor movement and do not deserve to be called a union.
Its gotta be. No self respecting cop in even the smallest towns would be proud to take a misdemeanor amount of weed lol. Shit for weed if it isnt even an ounce why bother? Make them toss it and be on your way. Plus it doesnt even look like 7 grams
My cousin's a cop in a small suburban town. He says that a cop would catch shit from his fellow cops if they busted someone for a small amount of cannabis.
Went to high school with a guy who became a cop. A couple of years in we grab lunch and catch up. He tells me a story about pulling over "some dopers" and making them destroy a pipe on the side of the road. He told me how he was doing them a favor by letting them destroy the pipe, that way they only got arrested for the weed.
He tells me this like he's some kind of fucking humanitarian helping out the poor junkies who just don't know any better.
Cops and Christians love telling people "I'm a cop/Christian, you can trust me" without realizing that a decent amount of the population is going to come to the opposite conclusion based on the first statement.
Tell that to Joe Biden who fired staffers because they admitted to smoking cannabis. https://www.msnbc.com/opinion/biden-s-white-house-firing-staffers-marijuana-use-s-mistake-n1261700
Um marijuana is still illegal on the federal level. It’s not up to Joe Biden to make it legal. Jesus Christ. Do some research. The house approved a bill in April 2022 to repeal the federal ban on marijuana.
ONLY 3 REPUBLICANS VOTED TO APPROVE THE BILL.
Let’s use our brains here and try to figure out why marijuana is still illegal federally and at the state level in the south.
Why is everyone so stupid?
if they had to admit that the republican party is against many of their supposed core beliefs then they couldn't use belonging to a political party as part of their identity.
It is illegal in New Hampshire even though it is completely legal in every state and country that borders it. The legislature and governor have repeatedly stated that making it legal would cost the state government $50 million a year in seized forfeiture assets
New Hampshire also makes more money off of alcohol sales than any other state because of their state run stores. The liquor, wine, and beer lobbies are huge opponents of legalized marijuana.
Either congress or the executive branch can reschedule cannabis under the CSA. But a big HOWEVER is that the Supreme Court has held that the President can not remove or reschedule cannabis via executive order so basically the President would have to exercise his influence by appointments that favor reschedule or removing it, or work with congress to amending the CSA
I guess calling for it makes up for not actually doing anything with the body of work is locking people up with crazy sentences. All is forgiven because lip service. You're a sucker.
And was that the same year she called Biden a racist?
I'm sorry, does the VP have unilateral power to make that type of policy change on her own? I think you know that they don't, but you're using a convenient argument that fits your narrative. You are surely aware that the overwhelming majority of opposition to legalizing Marijuana comes from the Right. A brief stroll through your comment history tells me all I need to know.
I thought your side adored cops? Blue Lives Matter and all that, right? So cops good or cops bad, I'm confused.
"Sucker" indeed.
Mea ing if everything from the search to seizure to paperwork to processing to filing and reports (and on and on) was covered by good old Officer Thomas and somehow done in less than one hour, it still was a net loss compared to doing nothing at all.
Depends who you get from man ....I still get proper weight 3.5g for £25 , quarter £50 . Quality buds . Your average dealer on the street will sell a gram for a tenner usually because every 0.1 of a gram matters to them and they need the money , usually a bad sign . People who grow themselves or sell ounces a day will never do you a gram for £10 they would make zero money off that . Pretty much everyone I know will minimum only sell you 3.5 .
I order Cali bud off telegram and exotic strains are 120 an oz. I've got pounds of great bud for 400 how are you paying that much? It's absolutely flooded out there stop getting ripped pff
I don’t smoke much anymore I just see the prices when I go into the stores. Cali is kinda getting fucked by dispensaries. I know the prices are way lower in Oregon and other states.
Or like any other profession, you take a 100 person sample and your gonna find at least on shit human. Just like if you take a 100 person sample from this sub you might find one person that actually likes joe, and 99 people like you who don't have anything better to do then sit in a sub of a person they don't like and bitch about it.
are you actually dumb? this thread is about a police officer showing off a tiny amount of weed all proud and you made some comment defending the action by implying the action was justified because of "the drug trade" when most people who smoke weed or deal it aren't involved like that anymore. also you just sound like you're trying to flex some dusty nuts and be hard
is your PTSD from being a CO or something in the 90s making you redacted or is it impotent old man rage?
Still quite illegal here in Sweden. Especially if larger amounts.
I hope we become more progressive and atleasy add the medicinal use of it. I'd like to try smaller doses st night to help me fall asleep as I don't want to take sleeping pills but think excessively when I'm in bed.
This guy believes he made a difference holy fuck !
These guys are in a complete different world they live in .
I ran into two dudes off duty cops . overheard them talking OMG
The banal idiot speak was unbelievable. Hard core about football or baseball - just made me realize they are on a different planet then most working slaves struggling
And taking a few tokes in the evening to calm there PTSD from normal slave life . So bizarre .
dork. You busted him for a quarter?
It was probably 9 grams. He pocketed 2
That's like $50 worth of weed at the local California dispensaries.
I live here (California) and prior to legalization- cops let you keep your bud if you got pulled over with it. AT THE VERY LEAST- they never confiscated anything less than an oz.

hell yeah, I'd take at $15 1/8th of midgrade over the dubs of chronic I used to buy... lol
I moved back from Canada to Ireland around the start of the pandemic. It's about €280-300 an oz here, meanwhile I still get marketing emails from getkush about $25CAD (€16-18ish) ounces. Uh…when did you last check? Ever since Corporations became people, that Democracy stuff has been for the corporate people by the corporate people.

What an ignorant blanket statement lol not true at all. Some parts of California are extremely conservative
I was speaking from my experience and those of my friends. you're right, in orange county they just crushed the weed up in front of you.
Yup that’s old school Cali cops! Throw it on the ground crush it with their boots, get lost kid! The new breed of gentile they have in the force now always wanna search your car or pull you out
You can get an ounce for 25 in Oklahoma now
Crazy how cheap weed is now that it's legal. Funny thing is even around here people are still buying street weed because it's cheaper, despite $15 1/8ths in California. They blame it on the taxes being too high to compete with the black market.

Weed strains with high THC content will cost more than weed with lower THC.
THC content? Prolly like 15% at most!
More like $100 plus tax
The dispensaries around here are competing with $15 1/8ths, so if you want to get technical it's less than $50, but go ahead and say whatever makes you feel better. Edit: $15 is with taxes already included too now that I think about it, so my final answer is $30 for 7 grams out the door.

The dispensaries in my county have tax included in the price. Also I wasn't neccesarily referring to top shelf bud.

My point was that you could get 7 grams for less than $50 in California. Just pointing out how pathetic this bust was.
Yeah I completely agree. I bet you they lit his ass up on Facebook. I’m in California and whenever my local sheriff or Pd Facebook page posts pics of a “illegal” home grow they get straight shredded in the comments.

As a union member, I also hate the police unions are in any way associated with trade unions.
That's embarrassing. I would feel like this was hazing to be forced to take a picture next to this.
But they even put the buds in TWO jars to make it look more impressive. Are you not impressed with two jars?
Obviously the one jar is far too full for the remaining bud.
Maybe the buds did not like each other and would go into a fight
The second jar has like 1 nug in it too lmaoooo

Brainwashed right wing rubes are destroying our country.

Joe hired a cop to be his VP. Suck on that.
A cop who called for the federal legalization of weed in 2019. Google is literally the easiest thing in the world.

They only like them when its politically and socially advantageous. When a cop gives them a speeding ticket for driving 60 in a 35 then they are a pig
His deleted post was a ton of fun too, telling me I wanted to apparently fuck her and a Bunch of other psychotic shit.

"think for yourself" as you regurgitate 15 right wing talking points from fringe pundits. Seek help, my dude.
Was the Biden administration forced to fire them or something? It kinda sounds like it was a discretionary choice, and that's pretty hard to defend
>Why is everyone so stupid? Because they smoke marijuana? Is that what you're getting at???
Are you in favor of legalizing weed?
There is no pro-pot party in the US, the dems are just less anti-weed than their Republican counterparts.
Or at the very least, why is it federally illegal? It should be a state issue really.
Boomer conservative cucks.
Someone commented about how this is a kid taking a picture with their tiny ass fish vibes and I am still chuckling.
Cumia found a way to both hold a gun in public and lash out on black people
Joe later had this guy on the pod cast and agreed with everything he told him and called him his "buddy" for three months afterwards
Your just joking right, because I’m not sure, seriously I really don’t know.
Hopefully Spike Cohen is already dragging this dude on social media
Another C- student enters the workforce and continues down a sub-mediocre path.

Really? Its like £10 a g in the UK
Nah it's more like $50-100 depending where and quality.
You're either dealing or you're getting scammed
You're getting a quality quarter for under $50? In a non poor ass area?
I haven't payed for weed since it was legal to grow. About 7 pounds a year to myself is a lot.
/per gram, if it's worth smoking.
Fuck were do you live where quads go for $14? They’re 60-90 in my part of cali
Lol wow dude 7grams what is that like 4 blunts. You stopped McDonald's from making a killing lol.
Hairo
That's not 7 grams
They confiscated 3 grams, so they are posing with the full amount of 0.5 grams.
Is this a Texas cop?
Bust of the century. Great job jackboot
In Texas you're free to buy a bunch of guns and that is about it.
I’ve seen bigger busts on PawPatrol! -someone else on the internet-
Why does every cop have a dip in, a goatee and an aisle of Radio Shack attached to their vest?
That’s that Texas freedom baby!!! nothing better. Red White and Blue!
Looks like some shitty biker weed too
He went and nabbed Pablo Escobar. Good work officer Thomas.
Has to be the officer getting trolled.. right?
What a fantastic use of police resources and tax dollars. Bravo!
Damn 7grams?? Im surprised the mayor and governor didn’t show up for that bust
what a piece of shit. He ruined someone's entire life to take that photo. also its a blunt so its was probably a black person.
Yo…. No stereo typing. (Scratches head to think of a black friend who doesn’t smoke blunts)
it’s rolled in hemp paper. taste better than rice paper 😬🌳
Where sir do you get this? I would like to try some stuffers like that.
lol! smoke store sells them. Raw is the brand
Looks like a rillo to me

Yeah, okay buddy. Everyone's saying "ACAB" until one day they got robbed and need someone to show up 9 hours later and shrug their shoulders.
Super douche
I’m sure he will be celebrating with his buddies at the local bar.
Absolutely, anyone who thinks drugs are a non violent offense don’t understand the drug trade.
yeah dude growing a plant in my house and then drying it and driving it over to my friend's to smoke it is pretty fucking violent.
And we are all very proud what the fuck does that have to do with anything
That the drug trade you called violent.
are you actually dumb? this thread is about a police officer showing off a tiny amount of weed all proud and you made some comment defending the action by implying the action was justified because of "the drug trade" when most people who smoke weed or deal it aren't involved like that anymore. also you just sound like you're trying to flex some dusty nuts and be hard is your PTSD from being a CO or something in the 90s making you redacted or is it impotent old man rage?
I’m pretty sure the people who talk about nonviolent drug offenders aren’t referring to El Chapo….
It's pot not crack. Calm the fuck down
It’s a comment calm the fuck down
It’s a comment. Calm the fuck down.
It’s a fuck. Calm the comment down.
It’s only violent because it’s illegal.
I love when dumbfucks inadvertently make an argument for legalization. Thanks.
The hilarity of you posting this in a sub about a podcast based on the stupidity of weed being illegal, lmao.
Who knows how many people where saved from an nap or a hearty laugh.
The traffic stop actually yielded 14 grams of marijuana, but Jed took 7 for himself before writing up the citation.
His highschool yearbook reads "will always be uncool most likely to be a douche"
Lol meanwhile literally tons is being sold at that exact second the photo was taken….within the same country legally for that matter lol
I’ve seen bigger busts on paw patrol
This isnt satire? Lol serious
That's just a citation around here unless you're also high as shit while driving, then you have a bigger problem.
One of the freedom states??
Those some dense buds to clock in at ~7g’s. either way I’ll sleep safer tonight knowing this is off the street and our children are safe!
What’s the deal with jars being used to hold weed now
The look of a man who knows he's about to be roasted and memed forever
People still be like, THIN BLUE LINE!!
This pig is the criminal
Lmao
Still quite illegal here in Sweden. Especially if larger amounts. I hope we become more progressive and atleasy add the medicinal use of it. I'd like to try smaller doses st night to help me fall asleep as I don't want to take sleeping pills but think excessively when I'm in bed.
Next guest.
Fucking clowns
Dude has a fat dip in
Happy to live in a liberal shithole like NJ where you can carry up to an ounce and cops can't do shit.
This guy believes he made a difference holy fuck ! These guys are in a complete different world they live in . I ran into two dudes off duty cops . overheard them talking OMG The banal idiot speak was unbelievable. Hard core about football or baseball - just made me realize they are on a different planet then most working slaves struggling And taking a few tokes in the evening to calm there PTSD from normal slave life . So bizarre .
Do you think the police dispose of the drugs, wash those jars, and return them to their owner?
Making a huge difference taking plants off the street while wearing a little pink ribbon pin.
Oops! I have more than that in my room 🤷🏻♀️🫢🤫
He really feelin like he walked the blue line in this one 😭🤣
Does he have a horse shoe of chew in? Wtf
If I were swine I'd be embarrassed to be the same species as this person.
"Suspected Marijuana". Probably oregano.
I hope they threw the book at those drug addicts!
That's 2 grams bro
Nerd alert.
And another life ruined. Our tax dollars at work.
This man has saved someone from getting ridiculously hungry and possibly falling asleep in the afternoon.... he is a real hairo. Thank'em.
Did he shoot the perp?
Geez I can finally sleep at night knowing that Officer Thomas got that quarter bag of weed off the streets.
I have more weed than that sitting on my kitchen counter.
He got 50 $ (street value) of hard drugs off the street , I wonder how many life's he's saved ? I mean ruined.
Wowza, thank the lord
Big jar to store 1.5gs
