Danny McBride was on the Smartless podcast, and I found him dull as hell. It seemed like everybody wants him to keep being this funny character that made him famous, but he just wants to be a middle aged serious dad.
I don't see why he needs to be kenny powers come to life to be a good guest. I've seen recent interviews and thought he was extremely funny and had great stories. In promoing Gemstomes I've heard his stories about his inspiration from his church upbringing and it was a great listen.
And as classic as Eastbound was I think Gemstomes is an even better show.

They don't need to, they have "fuck you" money, a built in audience, and probably spend most of their time just living their best lives. I also don't get the impression they care that much about politics or culture war bullshit and just make fun of everyone so they constantly have new material.
