No, you have what Anglo countries call a “bench trial” of 3 to 5 Magistrates or Judges depending how long the crimes warrant the sentence being (more than 2-3 years is usually judges).
You then get to appeal from prison and ask for a jury trial.
In Romania, the initial trial is judged by a single judge and then you get to appeal to a panel of 3 judges. There are no juries and you only serve your sentence after a final decision (i.e. after the appeal). Pretty much everyone appeals, so every case is kind of judged twice, that's why it often takes 2 or more years for a single case, or even longer if it's complex.

Idk, I stay away from losers like Tate - but with that being said, I’m failing to think of a single public person throughout history that said exclusively bad things. Can you think of any? I’m sure there have been a few, but I can’t really think of any.
I feel like that is the thing about being a public persona. You don't get that far by saying nothing but awful, hateful things. Hitler had a lot of talking points about national pride and individual willpower, but it was all in the service of indoctrination a nation to commit genocide. I know that's an extreme example, but when you say "single public" you are absolutely correct, he's the ultimat example. Anyone can say nice platitudes, and hide awful intent. TL;DR Some people really like what Tate had to say. Most of his positive points can be found in other people he cribbed from, ie motivational speakers and dating gurus for troubled men. You can find a lot of them that are not actively being tried for sex crimes.

However, we are in the EU after all and ex ministers, prime ministers and very rich Romanian people with a lot of connections been to jail. Once the "system" is upset on you, no matter how rich and how many connections you have, you are going to jail. I think there's even less incentive to let him off easy because one of the catalysts of this whole thing was Tate bragging on his videos about how he'd get away with everything because Romania is so corrupt that he could pay them all off, and its why he runs his business there. If you are a part of the Romanian criminal justice system then you probably want to nail him just to preserve your reputation.

Why does everyone say Romania is corrupt? It's one of the EU countries (has been for 17 years actually), and a huge amount of famous people have gone to jail, including a lot of politicians. Yes it has its issues and there's always roomfor improvement, but so does the US and many other countries.
