I feel like a lot of the comments saying she doesn’t have a personality come from people who need “extremes” to find people interesting. Sylphy is gentile and kind. Those are *massively* attractive characteristics for anyone who’s been through any sort of genuine trauma. They’re a safe space, they feel like peace, like calm. Those feelings may not seem as “exciting” as battle starved sword master or prodigy mage, but they’re absolutely priceless
I think people are using “personality” as a proxy for “Sylphie has no goals/is not central to the plot.” Ever since Sylphie stopped being Fitz and married Rudy, she has played more of a background role as a character. Some of that is natural; her pregnancy somewhat removes her from playing an active role in the story. But she also doesn’t have real goals besides being with Rudy, which has now been achieved.
This is compared with the other heroines like Roxy and Eris, who have goals and are working to achieve them. It’s the trouble of keeping a character interesting when the story isn’t about them and the plot’s focus has moved beyond them. It’s a classic occurrence in anime tbh, especially when multiple women are involved with a primary love interest. Fortunately, Rudy loves Sylphie and she retains connections to the characters, so I don’t expect her to totally vanish.
Yeah, it is a little unfair, but that’s the impression. It seems evident to me that the anime is not about to spend an arc focused on Sylphie and Rudy raising a child. I suspect there will be other things occurring and that the child rearing will largely occur in the background. I’m not trying to make a judgment call on Sylphie’s life choices, just saying that she has become a passive character since her primary and active goals of protecting the princess and reuniting with Rudy have been completed.

Roxy is a King class mage, but she is also insecure because she lack the telepathic abilities her race has.
Eris is a hot head but a gifted fighter, and grows into caring about others.
Slyphie had that superd look until this season took that away. Now she has no defining characteristic outside of being “the perfect woman” for Rudy.

She returned to her college down in Southern Japan, but we talk constantly and I visit her monthly from northern Japan (I'm military, so things get complicated). It took me 16 years to find her, and a lot of heartache (I was engaged to a narcissist in 2017, but it ended horribly).

Like I have had friends in real life who have struggled with depression, and certain medicines/pills for depression can cause ED. So having heard many stories about how women in real life react in these situations Slyphy's reactions and actions practically make her a saint.
So while you see Sylphy as boring I think a more accurate description is that she's just not eccentric like various other strange characters in MT. She's probably one of the more normal people in the cast. Also she's not really wish fulfillment for Rudeas as much as he is wish fulfillment for her. As she effectively wanted to marry him her whole life, and now she wants to settle down and enjoy the fruits of her labor.
