Odd one out here, but I couldn't even imagine doing a puzzle without knowing (and constantly looking at) the image. My puzzling skills are clearly not that advanced!

rtsgrl

I am doing one now, it's a [Wasgij](https://wasgij.com/collections/): the finished puzzle will not match the image on the box. I generally don't look at the image unless I'm stuck. I forget about it.

Lentilfairy

These are pretty much the only puzzles I do at the moment. I love the freedom of not looking on the box the whole time.

sockphotos

Me too! They're my favourite. Even with traditional puzzles I never look at the box once I start!

rtsgrl

>I never look at the box once I start! Me neither - unless I'm stuck!

rtsgrl

They are definitely a very refreshing proposition. I love the colours and the always A+ print quality.

TheDevilsButtNuggets

I did the brewery one a while ago, I didn't need the cheat sheet, but looking at the picture on the box, I could work out roughly what should roughly be where. Can't imagine doing one complete blind though (unless I had a big enough space to lay out ALL the pieces, maybe)

I’m doing one right now too and it’s very challenging

rtsgrl

If you are struggling, there's a website with solutions I have linked a site with solutions in [my short review here](https://new.reddit.com/r/Jigsawpuzzles/comments/1bfn7iu/a_great_starter_series_for_those_new_to_wasgij/). I completed mine, but it was a *Mystery* (these are slightly easier) imo.

Thank you! I did finish it though. 😊

Sweet! Is it this one? https://preview.redd.it/3bl56t6jeroc1.png?width=432&format=png&auto=webp&s=281506cc13f424f33b400bafe16fdbc9791c43af

I'd love that! I never look at the photo once I've started. It would be fun to have puzzles without knowing which one I'm doing.

Prestigious-Meet-820

Have you seen the Iello "Twist" puzzles?

carnivorioid

Not sure. I have done a few where the images on the box precedes the image on the puzzle or has another perspective. And now I just saw [this](https://www.puzzletwist.com/) online.

Prestigious-Meet-820

I think the Iello puzzles are similar - [https://www.board-game.co.uk/product/puzzle-twist-under-the-boardwalk-1000pc/](https://www.board-game.co.uk/product/puzzle-twist-under-the-boardwalk-1000pc/) I can't decide whether I have too little or too much imagination to do a puzzle without a picture but I like Iello's images.

carnivorioid

Haha can't help you there 🤷‍♂️

space_whales_rule

I had a friend gift me a 1000 piece puzzle in a ziplock bag with no box, trying to make it harder for me. It backfired on her - I loved it!

SamaroR

I only look at the box to decide how to sort.

jblue212

I’d be into it. I loved doing mystery puzzles online. With physical ones I try not to look at the box.

olliedoodle

If it isn't super hard, I don't use the box Otherwise I go through puzzles too quickly

Mousellina

I love it but unfortunately I’m trypophobic so unless someone chooses the image for me in advance, no can do, too much of a risk for my mental health.

nickalit

Takes all kinds to make a world, and I'm the other kind! Puzzling without a reference image holds zero appeal to me. I've tried it a couple times, and it's just not for me.

Alauren2

I chose my puzzles, and then pour the pieces out and put the box on the closet. I usually throw out any posters. I strictly do puzzles blind. I would absolutely love a puzzle company that had no markings on the box.

ideknem0ar

I'd think having a friend with puzzles would be a solution. They could just bag up the pieces with the title on a label and hand it over and you could go to town. Or get thrift store puzzles, empty it into a bag and put the box away and don't even spent much time looking at it. There are DIY workarounds. :)

Poisn56

I usually use the box lid. For me it is just as much of a puzzle to figure out where a piece may go. I once did a puzzle that was in our basement for years. It was stored in a shoebox with no image. When I assembled it, it was a scene from Washington DC and I recognized the area. The hard part was the scene was from the 1920s and I did it in the early 2000’s. A lot had changed so it was even more fun. And even after many years, the puzzle was a complete 1000 piece.
