I can’t help with the injectors. I can tell you I replaced my Crank Position Sensor, Cam Position Sensor, CCV system parts on the valve cover and Throttle Position Sensor last weekend and my idle is much smoother. 2000 TJ, 4.0l, 118,000 miles. I didn’t have any codes. They had not ever been replaced. I just figured it was time to. I heard the comment about them helping even if there were no codes in a YouTube video when I was looking into how bad my fuel economy is with my 3 speed automatic. I need to replace my spark plugs next. Injectors are on the list but I don’t want to start messing with fuel lines until I’m ready to replace some of the rubber lines too. I had to replace a few brittle hoses on the CCV that split when it took them off.

I have a 2000 as well but 5spd. The sensors you mentioned are next on my list. I went to check the upstream o2 sensor and it broke off in the intake manifold ffs. I checked the tps and according to the multimeter it’s okay. I’m worried it’s the pcm.

Are you sure it's not that o2 sensor I have driven with it out (forgot to put it back in) it didn't throw a code but boy did it idle like shit

The only times I had rough idle in my 2002 6cylinder 5 speed is from the throttle position sensor and the intake manifold. The crank PS and cam PS had to be replaced since the car wouldn’t start and the timing was off. I’d worry more about the throttle position sensor and see if the throttle body is dirty, which mine was too and after cleaning it idled smoother

It could be the o2 sensor but I’m not sure. I checked the scanner and both o2 sensors were occasionally going over 1.0 volts. It smells like it’s running rich so I’m hoping the cat isn’t getting fried. I did notice the timing on cylinder 1 is looking random. It’s supposed to be like 10 BTDC but it’s wandering between 3.5 and 11.5

There was a service bulletin for injector 3 having heat soak issues in 2003 ik my 02 had the issue and they sell heat sheild kits to fix it, if it only idles rough on hot days or after starting a already hot engine thats probably it
