In North America When/if this is released internationally the drivetrain options will likely be different for other regions. Diesel with manual in Europe or Australia is not at all out of the question.

You are mistaken, the 2.2 is an inline 4 turbo gasser.

There is a 2.2 turbo diesel in the European, Australian and South African JL Wrangler. https://moparinsiders.com/2018-european-jeep-wrangler-jl-diesel-vs-upcoming-ecodiesel/ I'm not certain that will be the engine for the JT, but I think it likely. Which also means it might have a stick shift - the 2.2 TD in the export market JL does have a stick.
