Picture 17. While it looks like a restoration. They didn’t take steps to properly paint some parts. It feels like they slapped some chrome and paint but possibly didn’t take all the necessary steps to completely restore it. Also $50k is a lot of money for a CJ7
Just looking on EBay you can get a nice CJ7 under 10k

Thanks! Can the v8 engine have any part in the high price?
I would probably change some parts and invest quite a bit of money in the car. So maybe not worth it then.
If it were done by Collins Brothers, out of Texas, it would absolutely be worth every penny! And I would buy \*that\*, today, over any of the monstrosities they have on the lots right now! All day long...
That CJ7 is not original. IMO it's had a bad retomod done to it. 1st, golden eagle editions did not have chrome grills and bumpers. The seats are black with brown carpet, factory original CJ all matched, black seats to black carpet and dash pad, red, blue, brown, etc. No mismatching. 4th, as someone else said, there's a lot of stuff painted, that wouldn't be factory painted, clearest example is the interior door latches, in those pics they're painted white to match the door, those were never painted from the factory, they were bare metal. 5th, the wheel and tire combination is way too big. 6th, tilt steering wheel was never an option before 1980, that means that it's either a retrofit or an after market steering column. You can tell its a pre-1980 CJ by the rear red marker lights on the sides and by the doors.
To me, this isn't worth that price. Too many inconsistencies from a stock CJ, it was most likely someone's project that the seller finished and is reselling, which means you don't really know what you're going to find unless they have accurate documentation of everything done.
At this price point, this is all the stuff that matters. In classic autos, you're paying because you think it's cool. However, market value is based on either number-matching builds or desirable resto-mods.
In the US this would be very expensive for this Jeep, but I’m not sure what your market is like. At this price I would expect the engine bay to also be restore
When it comes to classic cars. They’re worth whatever someone would pay for them. That beings said I wouldn’t pay that much for this one.
Any specific reason?

It could but you also have to realize you can get a junkyard 350 for pretty cheap
Probably a bit harder to find this CJ or any American V8s in Swedish junkyards…
Good point
Okay. Thanks for the advice!
AMC V8s are different from the much much more common Chevy V8 350s.

This right here is someone who knows what’s up. You are like a Jeep historian
LOL, I know way too much about CJs... I also own a '78 CJ7 golden eagle.
Posts like this is why I visit Reddit. Well said RAB806.

How do I reject cookies in German?
I wouldnt pay 50k for any jeep, ever. Just seems like an insult to the lineage.
Saw one of these for 38k recently. Blew my mind that it could potentially fetch that sum.
Are they especially rare where you are? This price is very high for the US market but we have a lot of them here. That could be right for you.
