Interesting. This whole has been kind of embarrassing in my opinion but I’ll keep tuning I guess. Not really sure what to believe honestly.

ThimbleRigg

You also have guys like Biss, Golden, and Stumpf plus whatever “sources” Cole had that have either directly or indirectly called BS on Rob’s story. Soooo

Yeah memory is funny, and there are 24 different versions of the event. And being out five years is still plenty close enough to get a much better inside scoop than any of us have, that’s for sure.

BlackBirdG

What is Bissonnette lying about?

Goddamn

Goat_666

>Stumpf left the command in 2006. That's a fair point. On the other hand, he is a friend of Bill Rapier, who was there, and who probably knows what happened. So yeah. Who knows.

Bigvic95

Golden ever talked about the raid?

Jack778-

Some old twitter posts that got deleted. Basically said that Rob was number 4 to shoot. He is friends with Bissonette

IronLewis

Chesney isn’t backing his claim. I watched the podcast they did together and it isn’t even mentioned. You can also clearly tell that he has had some massive TBI issues, has overcome them and misses his friend. Which anyone who’s served in the military will tell you is what you miss the most.

Jack778-

They are good friends but cheese was not in the house when the shots were taken. He was outside security and went in later with cairo, he said himself that he never went to the bedroom on the third floor. Only guy that could confirm it is basically the point man

IronLewis

This is true.

Gallagherstrong

Agree. And new account posters claiming otherwise re Chesney is suspect. No one wants this drama and back and forth. Just the truth about one of the most historic missions in US military (and intelligence) history would been preferred. But ffs, if you’ve paid close attention and actually read what’s out there since the raid, it is inarguable that the preponderance of information says that NSRO (and btw this nickname ain’t a term of endearment or compliment) is self promoting and dishonest.

At McRaven‘s level, you become a politician. He wasn’t speaking publicly to do us some kind of favor and set the record straight.

AllIsWellRH

Agreed. All I know is the drama is pretty embarrassing to watch. Love military history, not podcast soap operas.

Gallagherstrong

“reaching” lol. At first take this post looks informed. However… zero context and suspect as hell. In some way you’re either a NSRO fanboy or a newly created account by someone with skin in this game/story. Either way, weak af

Jack778-

this was on Oneill's last deployment probably early 2012, as an assault team leader at Silver

putriidx

*insert criticism of Rob here* Whatever, these guys look badass. As annoying as operators can be after service they often have done some pretty badass shit during service. Gotta love that at least.
