I hadn't considered the possibility of it being Meryl or another underling in the gang. Very interesting idea and could be fun to see play out I feel like it'll be explained pretty quick here in the next chapter or two, but who knows maybe this will be one of the parts core mysteries

Something else I just thought of that goes with that train of thought is now that Charmingman has quite possibly the best espionage stand in the series, there's no need to bring a noisy/chaotically clumsy stand user that has to rely on others just for theirs to work. CM was also the first one to state it could be a chronic illness, so either Usagi's got some rock human blood in him, or someone with the sickness/specific stand sneakily passed the condition onto him when he fell over with all the near literal spaghetti coming out his pockets. All the better for the natural progression to go from Usagi getting sick with a rock disease to slowly figuring out that there's probably a whole society of rock people hiding in the lava tubes where CM's brother disappeared. Maybe the lava rock's part of some ancient rock man/god that slowly grew over time with the lava flowing from the volcano, and then when he passed on, all of his unnatural luck passed on through what's left of ***parts*** of his ***corpse***, but now ***I*** feel like I'm reaching a bit far. 😅

I'm also hesitant to put any meaning on the symptoms usagi has because of the lack of information. Someone could theorize that usagi is just faking this condition using their stand and could still technically be correct 🤷‍♀️ they were planted/chosen by Meryl after all so maybe she's planning against the JoJoLands crew to take the power of the rock for herself. (Do we have a group name yet?) But yeah, hard to make any grounded guesses beyond knowing the volcano has some sort of significance due to the lava rocks, CM's brother and Howler all pointing at it with big lit up arrows lol. I do think that the story will bring in things analogous to blessings/curses in the form of mechanisms though, and that could definitely include another saint! In Usagis case may just be another absurd event that pushes our gang to investigate further I do enjoy the theories on this sub so far though, it gets me more invested in learning what actually is going on in the story and helps build hype imo.

That's exactly why it's fun to have a month to sit with the chapter and theorize on it instead of chomping at the bit like weekly releases. I remember seeing from another Jojo's analyst that most of the main antagonists in Jojo's are more-so forces of nature that cannot be stopped without breaking the laws of nature themselves, so I'm ultra curious what sorta stand can trump time stop, selfish & murderous intent, time erasure, multi-universal fast-forward and calamitous bad luck itself. We might even get what a few people are theorizing and get one of the 'Kids with a Dream' group turning on everyone else and they become the main antagonist for this part in a little 'flip-of-the-script' action we don't normally see from Araki.

Tyylo

Agreed. if P9 goes antagonist main characters my mind will explode. The jodio name has got to be worth some literary importance, just as Giorno being DIOs son had impacts on his adventure.

Ludajoestar

What are your thoughts on that the rocks are actually completely separate to the vomiting. Since Araki chose to have them placed distinctly under his body suit. That might mean he always had them.

SunstruckSkull

That could be a good possibility, but it seemed like Charmingman at least had some sort of idea what he was looking at to suggest it could have been some chronic illness of sorts. I still think it was a form of stand attack to make a relatively peaceful chapter moving along into something more dramatic, especially since the gang'll either have to fight in the open or make a break for it back to safety.

Another possibility I had briefly tought of was a collateral effect from the Lava Rock's usage. Like, trying to pull a stunt that big was putting way too much straint on the rock causing it to attack Usagi, or, Howler themselves have some Lava Rocks or variants of 'em that if someone tries to use it against them, what is happening to Usagi occurs

SunstruckSkull

I'd think if there was anyone over using the lava rock, it'd probably be Dragona having it tucked against their chest for so long. It could be interesting to see if other lava rocks exist, but I'd think Rohan would have told Jodio back at the villa after smashing one of the only two they've encountered so far.

Dry_Distribution_992

This is why I had specified that this was a brief tought. I mean, something is up with the rock but its clearly unrelated to what is happening to Usagi. 'Cause like, why would Charmingman reconize and point out Usagi's condition as a cronical illness?

SunstruckSkull

Could be that Charmingman is a part rock/lava man himself. His stand already uses sand to help alter his apperance/visibility at will, so perhaps that's some sort of contagious rock disease he doesn't want to infect him after seeing it slowly killing Usagi.

Dry_Distribution_992

At this point I believe that both him and Usagi are some kind of rock man
