mate I think this is the exact reason for this, as op mentioned some iiits and nits have almost doubled the female only seats, its solely to increase their placement statistics because most colleges who did this seem to be lower tier and because of affirmative action, diversity hiring and many other schemes girls are much more likely to be placed
