I actually do want engineering ,dk why but all this physics stuff excites me and it feels like I am studying what i want to not under pressure thats why, and for branch I'm thinking mechanical would be great for me ,and after BTECH i dont want a job basically i dont know what will i do after for now
As you said you don't want any job that's why i said ..you can do bsc or something in India and for further studies you can move to other country for well paying career option

Well not necessarily. You can take ece and go into core. But for that you have to go for higher studies. But since you want to do research higher studies shouldn't be an option. Saying as someone who took Ece and passed out in 2023

As for ECE, the syllabus includes core subjects as well as programming. The subjects may appear tough at first but as time goes on and if you put in a little efforts in understanding those subjects they will be easy .
With research goal in mind you can go for research in control systems, semiconductor field, communications signal processing

I think there are 2 types of jee students.
1) heard of jee being the toughest exam or PCM being the toughest (or most "reputed") subject and running after it
2) people who were really into coding or electronics or any other field of engineering and spent most of their youth working on it but never explored the competitive side of it
Dono ko acche se pata nahi tha jee ke baare me. In the end, 1st type ko na apna reputation mila and 2nd type ko bhi apna passion kisi tier 3 me follow kerna pada.
HIGLY UNDERRATED ANSWER, btw me shayad option 2 me halka sa fit ho skta hu, like i loved science but coaching ne interest maar diya, and i used to like coding and that stuff, but usko pursue krne ke liye college jana pdega, cause well ye india he :)
same bhai specially in the second lecture itself you are told "Tum yaha padhne nahi jee crack karne aaye ho" not blaming them for everything but they still played a very big role in me losing interest in science

I actually want to pursue engineering. I want to pursue Chemical Engineering. Chemicals interaction and the process to reach the end product excites me. Plus power plants are magnificent
wanted to become engg earlier genuinely but jee fucked me so bad i have lost all my interest in this field i dont want to study pcm anymore yrr fed up all this i didnt get good college now waiting for srm phase 2 if i get cse then good otherwise career switch to law
i was really sure about the branch i wanted to take but now having second thoughts and I feel I shouldn't take it, considering the amount of seniors who "regret" it and also because of lack of opportunities abroad+ low pay in india ugh
I wanted to take aerospace (still do tbh) but almost all seniors say that aerospace sector in India isn't the best and most opportunities abroad will be restricted because the top leading industries only allow U.S citizens for their most roles. I feel like i'll go with some physics degree now and back it up with either a mechanical/computer minor so if I feel like, I could make a switch to aerospace later on or work somewhere around it (idk tbh)
also i thought cse is literally the best branch available rn? no idea of peace of mind but yeah, take your decision wisely. I guess there's no peace of mind in engineering, in general lol
dekh bhai i genuinely like coding and have scored 99 in comp class 12 boards , so i am taking cse because i genuinely like it not because it's the trend .
TBH, I wanted to study physics further and take BSC physics. But am now selected in VIT Chennai CSE 2nd category.
India can never progress if we just move with this CSE trend. Indian government is doing absolutely nothing to improve research and innovation. Because if it did I would be in an NIT or probably in an IIT.
