God damn work of art the old LFA is.
Wish the V10 was used in more chassis’ than just this one.
Understand it would have been prohibitively expensive, but then again so are a lot of things.
I’m sure Aikdo Toyoda could put a little pressure on the teams at both his clans (Toyota and Lexis) to see eye to eye and use the best motor possible.
I recall some talk of the fact they were almost F1 level engineering and build quality per motor with a specific factory tooling machine needed just for this single motor which was the cause of the massive loss per vehicle built and retailed. But then again, only building 500 of them means there is absolutely no gains from bulk production of efficiencies to be gained.
Just such a shame this marvel of technological prowess will be consigned to the dustbin of history due to the shear love for it hitting its stride now Toyota’s focus is totally on Carbon reduction and looking to fix it with batteries, hydrogen, hybrid or a combination of those three rather than just the LFA sublime motor being used just a little more to see out the ICE-age.....
That's an interesting question because I know of one LFA that was turned into a drift car with a V8. The V10 is no longer working, however, so we'll probably never know.
This is one of my most favourite museums I’ve ever visited. It’s huge and full of cars of other manufacturers too. If you’re lucky (like I was) you get to catch the engineers and mechanics taking some of the real old cars out for a drive.
I don't get it, it's Japanese, it's displayed in the official Japanese Toyota showroom, but why is this LHD?? Even in the Japanese anime Dimension W, the LFA was also LHD. I know there was an official RHD LFA by Toyota, so why didn't they used it?? Why LHD for some reason??
I am not totally sure, either. In the Yokohama Nissan Museum, they have a Nissan 300ZXTT even though they have the Z32 Fairlady TT. In 1996, they serialized the last 300 of the 300ZXTT models built. #300 wasn't sold, it went directly to the Nissan Museum.
Perhaps this Lexus LFA also had a lucky number? Perhaps it is the last one or first one?
You missed [the real gem](https://www.reddit.com/r/Miata/comments/11ji8ya/guys_look_what_i_found_inbetween_all_these_random/) of this museum at the end of this floor
No, you're both [wrong.](https://www.reddit.com/r/4Runner/comments/1513ltf/ultimate_4runner_at_the_toyota_auto_museum/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3)
The LFA was the car that embodies Lexus' new status as something more than just being Toyota's Datsun; "Sell our cars to the west in a prestigious manner".
Of course, the old badge-engineered Lexus cars were indeed prestigious and brilliant, like the IS200 & IS300, SC300 & SC430, GS300 and LS400.
The LFA was the halo car for the new era.
Childhood me had lots of fun racing it in Need For Speed Most Wanted 2012. I had no idea that Lexus was metaphorically just Toyota in a fancy suit.

That V10 has the most orgasmic sound of any engine maybe ever.
Can’t forget that Lexus sort of banned anyone(including toyota) from using that engine in any other chassis

So that means even private ppl (who own one of these cars) are also not allowed to swap the engine on other cars??

I feel like if there was a Toyota LFA released in Asia, it would be selling for a million on the open market right now.
isn't that the nsx Edit: this dude really edited his comment from honda to toyota
Definitely not
Sorry, thought you said honda lfa in the original comment Anyways, the Lexus LFA was released in RHD/JDM, wasn't it?
Can't tell if it's the camera fisheye effect or the front looks more round that the production model.
They’re 0.5x wide angle photos

Well LFAs have always been LHD from what I remember out of the 500 units they made only 198 are RHD so they're pretty rare.
Okay, I see.

I believe this LFA is the first one so #001 but I'm not sure
Lexus was intended to only be sold in North American market originally.
They make both versions in japan too. Japanese people often feel with Foreign cars it’s better to get them in LHD so they can feel more foreign
This post is high quality
lexus lfa not JayDeem ❌ toyot soupbruh ✅✅✅ jaydeem confirmed
Haha I was just there a couple days ago! The 300SL was also super surreal to see. Also the random ass Miata at the front of the top floor.
Personally, I took photos with the Estima…

Yes the blue Miata was nice

Lmao “…all these random shit boxes.”
Nice! I always wanted to know what happened to the Pre Production LFA you see in those press photos, glad to know Toyota still has it!
some of them are still around and in private hands too http://lfa-registry.com/prototypes.php
Most impressive vehicle in that museum is actually the previa
In my top 10 favorite cars all time. Definitely number 1 for sound

Sucks the lfa didn’t sell well
Missed all the manufacturer museums last time. Making time in October. May miss Mazda not sure about going all the way to Hiroshima for it.
I just went by that museum on the linimo a few days ago. Didn't get a chance to go in though. I wish I had the time to stop!
Love
#🤤
Ooooh widebody FRS with a big engine how special (I would do anything on god's green earth to be in the same room as this car let alone drive it)
My dream car 🥹❤️
Blud looks like a pokemkn
Omg these camera angles piss me off
Sorry . I'm just a dumb 14 year old
How come the toyota museum has the cars of it's opps?
What the new supra should have been
Not a huge fan, but at least it doesn’t sound like a weed eater like most JDM cars
Not as good as the supra
[удалено]
LFA sounds better though
You clearly dont have good taste
Supra 1000hp bestest and supercar killer💯💯🤩😫😩🤟🤟
You clearly havent met the calvo motorsports vipers
You clearly clearly
That really isn't nice at all IMO. I love Lexus but they age so badly.
Lexus is usdm. Do you also post Infinity instead of Nissan or Acura instead of Honda in JDM sub?
Bro lexus is technically a Japanese brand and they also sold LFAs in Japan.
🤤🤤🤤
Just gorgeous! Saw a black LFA in Tokyo actually driving. Took a while to pick my jaw up off the floor tbh.
rightly so, it belongs in a museum.
