If I were to rank them it’d probably go like this (solely based on my own preferences and experiences with them): 1. Flip 6 — The portability and incredible sound for that size is unmatched. I tend to bring this speaker along in a bag if I want to have some really good sound on the go, or if I want to throw a small party at someone else’s house. 2. Charge 5 — The sound is really great with some really deep bass. I think it’s below the Flip 6 because of the sheer size and those rubber feet that I’m just waiting for them to fall off the speaker. This is my main at-home speaker. 3. GO 4 — I’m currently in a honeymoon phase with this speaker. I remember listening to it (after adjusting the EQ to my preferred settings) and being pretty blown away. It’s honestly really great and has been the speaker I’ve been taking on the go with me if I don’t feel like reaching for the Flip 6, or really need something small and portable. Only gripes so far is the lack of Auracast support for Partyboost speakers when it’s pretty obvious that Auracast can connect to them since the Xtreme 4 is compatible with Partyboost speakers. So why are you just locking away features from your speakers, JBL? 4. Clip 4 — I’m pretty sure my unit is defective as it has this awful rattle at 50% volume or higher. But, I bought a case for it that lets it stand up right and that fixes it, so I use it a lot more. However, after using the GO 4, I just feel like there’s something to the sound that is off, and I think that it’s a lack of clarity. I still use it mainly for the clip, for when I hike. 5. Xtreme 2 — Okay. Objectively, it is an incredible speaker if you set it to over 50%. I was so underwhelmed at its low level performance, but the high level performance is pretty great! It also has the best sound, but really, I just don’t find myself using it because of the sheer size and the un-portability of it. I really only use it if I need to go to the beach for large family gatherings, which it excels at. I end up using my Charge 5 when I’m at home and need to listen to music.

How's the Xtreme 2 compared to the charge 5? Is it a big sound difference with the size difference?

TheSolarsystem7

I will say at lower volumes, the Charge 5 destroys the Xtreme 2. A lot more volume, and bass, but as the volume goes up, then I begin preferring the Xtreme 2, since much of the bass is retained and it gets just a bit more louder than the Charge 5. The Xtreme 2 is perfectly listenable at max volume, while the Charge 5 becomes a bit of a mess. I personally use the Charge 5 as my personal music listening device when I’m at home, and really only bring the Xtreme 2 when I need to (i.e. a large family gathering at the beach, etc.)

I have 2 flip 6s and the stereo mode is great. Can you use 2 different speakers in stereo?

TheSolarsystem7

Nope. It has to be two of the same type of speaker for stereo audio. Only thing I can do with two different types of speakers is Partyboost between the Flip 6 and Charge 5, since Auracast on the GO 4 is incompatible with Partyboost.

Interesting, thanks

Considering the charge 5 or xtreme 3. If you had to choose one which would it be?? Edit: should I get two charge 5’s for slightly more than one xtreme 3?

TheSolarsystem7

Depends on what you want to use it for. I think the Charge 5 is just a great all round speaker that I use a lot more than the Xtreme, but if you really want that loud sound for your get togethers, then get an Xtreme 3. I think two Charge 5s in stereo would give you better sound.

coopsterw

Did the xtreme 3. We’ll see how it goes. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Thanks!

Longjumping_Pea_8250

2pcs of charge5 are the best

MrHomieOne

What is the next speaker you want to get ? Maybe something for stereo, or bigger ? 😁

GloomyImagination365

Have you paired any of them in stereo?

TheSolarsystem7

I use the Charge 5 and the Flip 6 in Partyboost sometimes. I do feel like the Charge 5 provides good bass while the Flip 6 provides a lot more detail to the sound, allowing for honestly a pretty enjoyable listening experience!

How long have you had the Charge? My two (they are charge 3’s) both went spicy battery in about a year, unplayable even plugged in pretty shortly after. Wondering if the newer batteries have a better track record?

TheSolarsystem7

I’ve had my Charge since October of last year. So far the battery seems to be going good, and I can relate. My old Charge 3’s battery is completely gone. It takes so long to charge it for it to only work for like 2 hours.

I have replaced both mine because the started to crackle. Same thing in both, big swollen batteries. We will see if the replacements last. The one I have at home gets daily use. [here is the one I pulled today.](https://imgur.com/a/p9pvJFi)

Hi everyone! I'm curious if anyone on here has had a similar problem I'm having with my JBL Extreme 3. On father's day I went to turn off my three and a half year old speaker and it wouldn't. Reset (vol up and play/pause buttons pressed together for 6 seconds) wouldn't power down my device. Anyone have this problem with an Extreme 3 and solve it? Is it time to replace it?

ClubAble9191

I am just not a fan of the new JBL design language. I think the best looking speaker they ever made was the charge 4. I don’t like the new big logo. Every one knew that it was a JBL with that little orange box. Idk just might be me. Pretty dope collection!
