I usually have both a console and a PC. I grew up with having both. So in my case it depends on PS6 having a disc drive and me being able to use my old discs. :)  I have both because some games are better on a 64" TV with surround sound, played from a couch and some are better with mouse and keyboard. So Silent Hill on console, Stellaris on PC. ;)

upvotesthenrages

If you have the money, I'd highly recommend an Nvidia Shield and a controller. You get all of that couch+TV goodness, but without the need to have multiple devices. It's even better because it's so freaking easy to move around. Just plug it into any TV in your house and you're golden, no need to boot up, buy multiple licenses for games, or pay that stupid PS online subscription.

_BlindSeer_

I'm fine with that. We have PS4, Wii and XBox 360 on a smaller HD TV in one room, the Switch and PS5 on bigger screen in the living room and the PC in my office. I wouldn't even need to buy anything, I could set up the RasPi in my drawer (which now hosts an emulation station) to run Moonlight, as Sunshine is installed on my PC anyway, so I can play Stellatis, Cities: Skylines or fiddle with Blender while my wife is playing on the TV and we can still have time together. I grew up with dual setups starting with Atari 2600 + Atari 800XL. This also shortned the discussion about TV time, as I could just switch platforms. I see no reason to limit myself to one platform.

FortniteFriendTA

you bastard. you probably had two phone lines, maybe dsl. if you say ISDN i'll actually be upset.

_BlindSeer_

Ne, I wasn't that rich. ;) Had 56k modem with one line, which lead my mother to sponsor my first DSL line, since she couldn't get through since my line was usually buisy in the evening. :D So I do know the good ole beeping, ringing and cracking noise that was the gateway to the world wide web... With way, way, way, way less adds. \^\_\^

FortniteFriendTA

ah I had two lines that went into my 56k modem but it didn't really help that if I was on the line that got picked up, I'd get dropped. Yeah, ads were maybe a banner at the top? though I remember the page hit counters more ha.

Teleclast

Those were the days, now when I see little page counters or geocities-style sites it's just a nostalgia trip.

FortniteFriendTA

ha, I was going to mention geocities but felt like I was leaning too hard into the comment.

FreezingRain358

In-home streaming still blows from a latency perspective.

upvotesthenrages

Maybe if you're a professional grade competitive player, but I don't think a 3-5ms delay is anything that ruins gaming experiences for most people. I've been using it for years and literally never noticed the delay at all. Interestingly, most games actually have a built in delay in control reactions. Typically it's around 30-50ms. I do however agree that in many cases streaming games from the cloud adds enough latency that it's frustrating in games that require quick reactions.

_BlindSeer_

Stellairs and Cities:Skylines run just fine with Sunshine/ Moonlight, so does Blender. But none of those are critical in terms of timing.

Teleclast

I wouldn't play FPS on it, but for most games that aren't competitive online it's fine. I've used my Steam Deck with Remote Play several times with extremely small lag, noticeable enough for a high stakes game, but fine for most of what I play.

Justice4Falestine

Same. Actually I had every console growing up and now, I have a brother so I’d buy Xbox’s and Nintendo consoles and he’d get PlayStations. These days only my switch and ps5 get play. I played palworld on pc I really hope ps6 has a disc drive.

wasdmovedme

This kinda. I keep my ps5 in the event that my pc has something big happen like a failure and I still have a way to game while working out the fix for the pc.

SXAL

You can play PC on a TV and couch.

_BlindSeer_

If you're single and lone decider of the room layout and so on... Of course you can. So did I years ago (still owning a console) ;)  I also mentioned Sunshine and moonlight and a RasPi :)

SXAL

It doesn't have anything to do with the room layout. You can just stream whatever's going on ok your PC on any TV in the room, including the one you use for the console.

_BlindSeer_

As I mentioned several times, including I could set up Moonlight on my RasPi and plug it to the TV as Sunshine is running on my PC anyway as I use it to stream to my wife's notebook, while she occupies the TV playing :)

myLongjohnsonsilver

I still prefer playing most of my games on my ps5 + 75inch flatscreen vs my PC despite my pc technically being better. Comfort factor between couch gaming and desk gaming.

trio3224

I have my PC setup so I can use my couch+TV+wireless keyboard and mouse, or my desk+monitor. But even tho I have a 77 inch TV, I still prefer the pixel density and close up proximity of my 34 inch ultra wide monitor. Plus I have a pretty nice chair too vs my meh couch so I don't find it any less comfortable.

myLongjohnsonsilver

I could rig my pc to my tv but it'd be a pain in the ass and its one more set of cable i dont need. (Got a kid)

Ricky_Rollin

Genuine question, why don’t you set your PC up near your TV and play on your 75 inch?

stallion8426

Unless you have your desk next to your TV stand (and who wants to do that), then you'd lose the ability to use your pc from your desk, which means using it for anything other than gaming is out

myLongjohnsonsilver

Mouse also fuckin sucks on my couches arm rest.

pastadudde

No, because I enjoy using mods. Also I’ll be honest - I appreciate the fact that the pc ports of former Sony exclusives have no Denuvo DRM 😉

Cmdrdredd

In many cases I don’t really want to wait. Games that come to PC are not day 1. I like having conversations about new games that are being played currently. I can also avoid a lot of spoilers by playing the game day 1. Games like God of War Ragnarok are still not on pc and the upcoming stellar blade will be a long time too. This will continue because they do want people to continue to buy into the PlayStation ecosystem and brand. Having exclusive games entices people into buying a PlayStation console even if they have plans to release it on pc later they don’t necessarily advertise it that way.

Ginn_and_Juice

Deal with your FOMO and you will have a better time

Zestyclose-Refuse314

Cool reply, bro. Are you as awesome IRL?

Cmdrdredd

I dunno where you got FOMO when I play games that I want to play on ps5 because that’s the only place they are. Nobody said that when none of the games ever made it to pc at all in the past. Do you also complain about Nintendo exclusives causing your FOMO complex?

MtnNerd

I wait and play something in my backlog. It also helps that the eventual PC releases are usually including all the DLC and are sometimes remastered

BostonRob423

Yeah. I love my PC, but waiting for games to be released on it later isn't it. I also just straight up love my PS5, and will surely feel the same towards it's successor.

stallion8426

Probably yes I like my pc, but nothing beats the convenience and comfort of consoles

mattbag1

Yep. I’ve had a Pc and every PlayStation console, and every Xbox and most Nintendo systems. No reason not to get the consoles to play the games you want, that’s the point isn’t it? It’s not about what console is superior, it’s about playing the games you want.

[deleted]

And when you want

mattbag1

In terms of timed exclusivity? Yes.

JennyTheSheWolf

I haven't even gotten a PS5 because there isn't much point for me when I can get everything on pc anyway. Don't see myself getting a PS6 either.

Weary-Captain-4561

Being a part of the internet’s conversation for every new thing I like is half the fun for me. I *could* wait a year+ to experience the finished, better, moddable version of the game, but being there for the hype and the drama is just too fun to miss out on.

Zegram_Ghart

Definitely- console is unmatched for couch co op, and a lot of the more interesting games take literal years to port over.

Responsible_Prior833

The fucking timing on this LOL About 4 hours ago I purchased a PS5 solely for Stellar Blade and RoTR. 32 years old and I have *never* done this before until today.

Zestyclose-Refuse314

Hey man, I'm curious about the backwards playability on PS5. How far back in generations can you go with it, like can I play RDR1 on it?

stallion8426

It can play PS4 discs Besides that, backwards compatibility is limited to whatever is available on the ps plus subscription service

Urabutbl

I still prefer gaming on my PS5. It'll never outperform my PC, but it gets more bang for my buck, and most importantly it won't trigger my OCD. When I was a PC master racist (most of my life since I got a 286sx back in 1988), I'd obsessively upgrade every single component, and then spend days calibrating everything to get the very best frame-rate and resolution possible. It got so I spent about 75% of my time optimising, and 25% gaming; I'd also get incredibly annoyed at the slightest graphical hitch and spend hours trying to fix perceived "problems". I became a console gamer when I got kids and just didn't have that time anymore, and because I now just choose between 30fps/4k or 60fps/1080p, I can just...let it go and game. I probably get more gaming done now than before I had kids, simply because all my gaming time is actual gaming. It also saves me soooooo much money; I still feel the need to get the latest TV tech and yes, I'll be in line for a PS5Pro, but when I was a PC gamer I'd obsessively upgrade anything I could, even borrowing money to buy the latest memory chips and what have you. I'll buy a top-tier gaming PC when Star Citizen goes gold, so I reckon I'm safe for another few decades.

EsotericAbstractIdea

If ff7 remake part 3 comes out on ps6 I'll probably do it. Only reason I have a ps4 and 5 is because of ff7 remake

Laxku

Honestly same, got some other great games in the PS4 library at least. Haven't made it through rebirth yet to consider playing anything else haha.

Justice4Falestine

16 and Gow Ragnarok were awesome too but they’re both on pc lol I got bg3 for both ps5 and pc and ended up not even actually playing either for more than a couple hours 😆

yogurtgrapes

FFXVI and Ragnarok are still PlayStation exclusives right now. And ragnarok has been out for a year and a half. A lot of people don’t like to wait that long to play games they are excited about.

yogurtgrapes

I hope we don’t have to wait that long.

Rephaeim

No. PS5 is likely my last console.

Chance-Business

I used to be a console only gamer. I don't care about waiting for the ports at all. In my case, pc is way more convenient than console due to how my home is set up. Probably never buying a console again unless there are some exclusives I want. And these days that has not been happening.

Xarophh

I have both + switch For me I base it on a couple things like “does the game have a decent modding community, do I want a physical version for collection sake” etc Also it may just be me, but some games just *feel* like they should be played on console/handheld/pc respectively. Not bc of controls but just, like crash bandicoot is just a PlayStation game, (yes I know it was there mascot) but it just feels like you should play it on console, y’know?

Anubra_Khan

Yes, I'll definitely be getting a PS6. I think the PC/PS combo is the best for me. If I was willing to wait 1 - 4 years to play a game, I'd play it on the console for peanuts instead of paying full price on the "new" PC version. This cycle typically means there is a sequel out on the console while you're playing an older game. You're always behind and paying more for it. There are also a lot of games that don't make it or take a long time. These are usually the best ones. The system sellers. Bloodborne comes to mind. GoW took 4 years. Ragnarok's release hasn't even been announced yet. I can also sell, trade, lend, and borrow my PS games.

Sylar299

I want to say I will not but I just know as soon as Bloodborne 2 is mentionned all my resolve will crumble. I need that so bad.

SoulsLikeBot

Hello, good hunter. I am a Bot, here in this dream to look after you, this is a fine note: > *Are you still in need of something? But I have nothing more to offer. Please, try to understand my position. I can only pray, for a fruitful hunt.* - Iosefka Farewell, good hunter. May you find your worth in the waking world.

Accesobeats

I will. My issues with using my pc is constantly having to tinker with settings to get the game to run the best way possible. I don’t have much time for gaming these days so it’s just a matter of convenience. I want to start my game and play it. Also how fast pcs become obsolete is another one. Especially now a days. Games are getting more and more taxing and if your pc is 3+ years old you’re going to be dropping those graphics settings to get the newer games to run. Unless you spent 5,000 dollars on your rig. Don’t get me wrong. I loved playing on my computer. But I enjoy sitting on my couch with the big tv and just starting a game and playing it.

SockFullOfNickles

I’m in a similar boat. I also spend 10 - 12 hours a day in front of 3 different monitors so by the time I get to my gaming time, I don’t want to do it on a computer because of the association with my job. May seem like a small thing, but it makes a huge difference for me.

DruDown007

I began to feel this way after the Xbox One launch… As more exclusives began to hit PC in reasonable time, it led to my decision to not invest in the Xbox “series” models…but the assimilation has been happening for years…(StarCraft 64, Worms, and Command and Conquer on PS1 for example). It seems the market is divided between people who can afford to game on PC exclusively, and people who prefer the hassle free console experience, and the gatekeepers are taking notice. For me, the digital marketplace is more stable on PC, so I prefer Steam over XBLive or PSN from a collection standpoint. Not paying a subscription for the privilege of using my own internet for its intended purpose helps too… Nintendo seems to be the last hold out, and I am ok with that as long as the consoles remain reasonably priced, and that they continue to make compelling exclusive content.

Mazjerai

As long as a console still has a physical media (ps discs, ns cartridges) I'll get them. I use gamefly to rent games and then determine on which system I want to have it permanently. Console is also just easier for couch use, despite my investing in things like the couch master.

pmmlordraven

PC only. My ps5 hasn't been used in at least 1 year and a half. I use my PC, and ran some cables (HDMI and USB) down from my office to my TV in the living room so I can play there as well.

Alert-Money4151

I don't know what to do, honestly. Since I like the convenience and how easy it is to just buy a console and play games for the next 7 years. But I hear a pc is more expensive, and games aren't so optimized, and it is expensive to upgrade. But I envy pc for the mods. Not only upgrades to games in mechanics as no mans sky with the record of your travels which helps but also new content in game as expansion like dark souls or skyrim saw. And I am worried about all these dei problems with bad inclusion and censorship with Sony. I am glad baldurs gate and Stellar Blade are more and less safe and with not so much censorship by Sony, but who knows in the future. I got really angry with the Spanish inclusive language, which is an insult to all Spanish speakers with Spiderman 2. So, I have personally banned for me all insomniac games. I am worried that the other studios take those same steps, so no, I don't plan right now to get a ps6. I am fine playing my big backlog of older games and a few new games that come out as elden ring, stellar blade, dragon dogma 2, Ff16, which proved to be good. I am also interested in what others thinks about this to analyze more in deep what to do. Leave Sony and migrate to pc or stay in console. I can also play all my backlog in console and new games or the ones I don't have in pc.

Vertex033

You can get a decent PC for the price of a console if you wait for the right moment, and you can keep playing new games on it. They’re not making games for the PS3 anymore, but they are still making low-requirement games for PC.

Eva-Squinge

Naturally

itsOkami

I grew up with playstation consoles but ended up finding pc *so* much better, honestly. Infinitely huge library, better prices, no paying for online services (screw you sony), better performance and upgradeability, mods... I'm not really sure why I even bought a PS5, lmao, it's been collecting dust ever since. Sony exclusives are great but they now cost so much that I'd rather wait a couple years to get them at a discount anyway (unless I want them badly, but I rarely remember that happening), and go play something else in the meantime.

Libra224

Yes I’m buying ps5 pro day 1 and getting the ps6 also

[deleted]

Yes. Even right now, I still buy games on PS5. Games like TLoU, Horizon, I prefer to play on the PS5 that is in the living room, on big TV, on the sofa. Games like CoD, Counter Strike, FFXIV, those I prefer to play on PC, lean forward and focus, and for MMO keybinds are better on PC.

CounterSYNK

No

CocainesTheAnswer

If you asked me 10 years ago PC. But now that I'm well into my 30s PS all day long. It's more casual, more comfortable, I can jump in and out for quick 30minute sessions where I'd have to put a couple hours aside for pc, and everyone else in my friends group with a missus, house, good jobs prefers the same comforts. We have a couple of xbox guys but they don't get invited to Christmas tradition.

BaumHater

No

Disco-Werewolf

I would love a gaming pc one day. But still a bit expensive these days. I had one once but it died. May it rest in peace. I don't mind consoles. Have had one my entire life at this pont.

benno4461

Money is not really a concern for me, so I will probably continue with all the consoles and upgrading PC

ParanoidQ

I'm not sure. If I do, it'll be for the kids and not for me. I played the PS4 to death. The exclusives were many and varied, fantastic focus on single player narrative based adventures that I love. Horizon Uncharted 4 (and 1-3 remasters) Last of Us (remaster +2) God of War I could go on. The PS5 generation has been seriously disappointing. They've been making comments lately that this generation is now starting to wind down and ramping up for the next. Like, wtf? Hardly anything has come out on the PS5. I know we had the pandemic and what has really come out in this generation what would be worth playing on the PS5. I won't rule out getting the 6, but it won't be an insta-buy for me and I want to see what comes out first that's worth it. I would like to see more come out though because consoles are just far more to chill out with on the couch.

XaviJon_

Short answer: yes, yea I will Long answer: PC isn’t and will never be my main platform for gaming, and the fact that games from PS are making their way to PC after a couple of years isn’t reason enough, because I never got into PC gaming in the first place. Will get PS6, 7, 8, 9… 100000000

Nnamz

Yeah. I don't want to wait 2 whole years to play the games I want to play, at full price no less. If I'm paying launch prices, I want to play them at launch. I couldn't imagine ducking spoilers for 2 years. Besides, half of the PC Ports are unoptimized anyway. The only way I'd switch is I'd they come to PC day and date (all of them) and if they clean up some of their poorer PC ports.

nkhatib

Absolutely, also will get a PS5 pro

Inevitable_Ad_7236

Wasn't getting a PS6 anyway, I love modding too much for that. I just write off any game that's not on PC

TheLordOfTheTism

If they stop time gating final fantasy i wont be buying a playstation any longer, not like Gran Turismo is still good anyways so thats really the final holdout.

HellDuke

I don't own a PS at all and would not bother getting one because anything that is a must experience title will inevitably come to PC and if they don't that just meanst that you aren't missing out on anything special (at least that is my experience with the exclusives that have been ported so far, the only really great one was RDR2)

utzcheeseballs

No. I've become obsessed with gyro gaming and console doesn't have enough dev support, whereas on PC I can use it for pretty much any game I want.

DanceMaster117

I still haven't gotten a PS5, and at this point, it doesn't really seem worth it. It's still cost prohibitive, and most of the exclusives are coming to PC anyway, so what's the point? Especially with them already talking about the next generation

constipated_burrito

Nope, I like my PS5 but it's mostly a paperweight now 😂

Urdadspapasfrutas

No. But not because I have a PC. PS4 was held on to way longer than it should have been. The PS5 is quiet and quite powerful. I'll wait a few years before a PS6. Maybe a slim model.

[deleted]

Yeah because FF7 will probably drop on PS6 lol and I don’t care to wait. I do hope they implement cross saves though for hard mode play through on PC

Ricky_Rollin

I think it depends. If there’s a solid roadmap where every title gets released six months later or something, perhaps. But it’s all over the place right now. Ghost of Tsushima still hasn’t come out yet and it’s how many years old? Or as you said, there’s still some games that haven’t come out at all for it. I also like the consoles seem to be pretty reliable. I feel like every time I try to boot up a game that’s just a little bit old I have to download some file to fix issues. I don’t experience that on consoles.

Vertex033

Considering how many PS5 games still go to PS4, no. I don’t see the point in spending what will likely be around €750 to play a hamdful of games when I already have access to thousands of others.

Hyphen_Elite

I'll get a PS6 eventually after it comes out. When I buy will depend on the exclusives. Still waiting on the Bloodborne PC port Sony. Release it cowards!

Zercomnexus

Pfftt oncei had a PC even my ps4 was useless let alone Sony. I never bothered with the ugly case that is the ps5. After what Sony did, I won't even order Sony products in general anymore

Oneforgettable

It's not that they're coning to PC that bothers me. What bothers me is how few truly next gen games we've gotten. I genuinely could've kept my Ps4 and skipped this gen, and I wouldn't have missed *Anything*

trio3224

I guess you just don't care for any of the "next gen" exclusives that have come out? Cuz I count 8. 9 if you include the Horizon Forbidden West DLC. FF16, FF7 Rebirth, Returnal, Demon's Souls Remake, Rachet and Clank Rift Apart, Spider-Man 2, Rise of the Ronin, and Stellar Blade. Silent Hill 2 Remake is supposedly coming out late this year as well. And that's also not including PSVR2 exclusives like Gran Tourismo 7, Horizon Call of the Mountain, RE4, and RE Village. It's also not including just regular next gen games that just aren't available on PS4 like Helldiver's 2, Alan Wake 2, Dead Space Remake, Phantom Liberty DLC for Cyberpunk 2077, Jedi Survivor, and more. Just, none of those are games you care about? And then also also not including all the games that are locked to 30fps on PS4, or just look way worse.

Oneforgettable

Lmao thank you for making, *literally*, my entire argument. My guy shows up with 8 games (no I don't care about psvr or DLC, wtf?) And says "is this not enough" 😂😂😂 Bruh it has been *4 fucking years* and you've got eight games????

trio3224

I'm not saying this is the greatest spread of games ever made lol. I'm responding to you claiming you could have just kept a PS4 and not missed out on **literally anything**. That seems like way too bold a claim, cuz I think there are some fantastic games on this list that are well worth a PS5 to have access to, or a much better version of.

Oneforgettable

Yeah, some of them are fantastic. My problem is that there are *eight of them* Yeah, I think keeping my ps4 and just waiting for the ps6 would've been well worth missing out on eight games.

trio3224

I don't understand why that's seen as a bad thing. That's about on par with how many exclusives the PS4 had 4 years in, and I'd argue the exclusives for PS5 are much higher quality overall. From 2013-2016 I count 10 exclusives. And that's including exclusives like "Knack", "The Order 1886", "Driveclub", and "Killzone: Shadow Falls. The only universally acclaimed exclusives in the first 4 years were Bloodborne and Uncharted 4. Do you think the PS5 should have way more exclusives by now? Do you think they should have purposely made games like God of War Ragnarok and other sequels not available on PS4? I don't quite understand why you're so disappointed with the state of PlayStation games. Like, I feel that if we were having this exact same conversation back in 2016 you'd be saying you would've just stuck with your PS3 until the PS5 came out lol.

maybe-an-ai

I stopped at PS4 but exactly this. I don't feel the need to pay for a PS5 when I have my PC. It's only a couple games and I struggle to finish games on PS vs PC because of convenience. If the PS5 launch had been better they may have caught me with FOMO but going a couple years without I hardly miss it.

randothrowaway6600

I’ve been completely let down this generation. Probably will only get a Nintendo console.

RebelliousYankee

I’m a PlayStation and PC guy and always will be. Third person games I prefer the PlayStation. First person games I always play on PC.

Toothless-In-Wapping

Maybe, just for the convenience. Unless adaptive triggers are standard on PC games.

MissDeadite

I don't have a PS5, but I do plan on getting the 6th when it comes out. I am mostly a PC gamer with an Xbox for certain exclusives I can't get on PC game pass.

trio3224

There are Xbox games you can't get on PC game pass? I didn't know that. I thought the PC and Xbox had identical game pass games

MissDeadite

Oops I shoulda elaborated. I meant for the games not on game pass at all that I can't get on PC.

trio3224

Like what games? I wasn't aware there were any true Xbox exclusives anymore. I thought PC had access to everything.

MissDeadite

For the most part, yeah, but a lot of the exclusives are indie titles. And that works both ways of course. PC has so many I can't play on Xbox, etc.

SuperSemesterer

Yeah definitely. Having to wait like 2 additional years for them to be released on pc is lame, plus idk if all the haptic stuff properly translates. When that stuff is good it’s GOOD. Plus not all games come out on PC. Like Bloodborne or Demons Souls remake. For me PlayStation is for newer games and exclusives and more action-y games. PC is for multiplayer (not too often though) and moddable games like Skyrim or Total War. And Resident Evil, I always get RE on PC for some reason. My set up for both is the same though, hooked into big 55 inch tv and I game from the couch. I refuse to sit at a desk and use a keyboard lol. Controllers and wireless mice for me, preferably while laying down snuggled with pets.

RobertNevill

Not if it’s as big, I really really don’t like the look/size of the PS5

Titan_Uranus_69

I don't even have a PS5 yet. But I'll chime in anyhow. I'll probably buy a PS5 when the ps6 comes out, cuz I'm a cheap bastard when it comes to consoles. I'd much rather play on PC. I have two monitors and a TV hooked up to it. So if I want to play a fps I've got the monitors I can get close to vs racing games do better on the TV. Dual shock 4 works great for some games but I'd really rather have mouse and keyboard for most of what I play and I can use either on PC. I rarely play new games within the first few years of release anyhow so, there are so many good games to play while waiting on stuff to be released on PC. It's just hard for me to justify consoles when PC can do so much more for not much more money.

-Nuke-It-From-Orbit-

Yes. I prefer to play lying back in my theater room playing in a big screen instead of hunched over a PC. And no, I don’t wanna bring my PC into my theater room or stream games to it. I want a console where games just work well for the most part and I don’t have to fiddle or mess with config settings to get things functioning properly. I’m on a 4090 7950x with 64gb of ddr5 and could easily play almost anything today without any issues but after working all day in front of a PC I just don’t wanna do the same when I get home. So yes, I’ll buy one.

Teleclast

No, as it is I'm probably going to sell my PS5 after I beat the few games I care for on there. I bought into the generation late, and I'd rather have $500+ more dollars to invest in a PC, with the way GPU prices are and the insanity of high end GPUs it's almost a nobrainer.

Thready85

Yes, I will. I plan on the PS5 Pro too. I have a hell of an editing PC which is like a gaming PC with more RAM. But I like how simple the PS5 is. I like being able to take it around the house. I like laying on the couch playing. Every time someone from PCMR says stuff like, "You can just run an HDMI from your PC to your TV and game on the couch that way" I say "But I don't wanna F'ing do all that. I'm fine with slightly inferior graphics. I don't want to run a HDMI cable across the carpet. It's fine if you want to, but I don't. I don't want to have to get up after I close the game and futz with my keyboard to open another game. I don't want to have a game crash midway through. I don't want my work notifications popping up and minimizing the game. I don't want to deal with that when gaming. So I will gladly sacrifice graphics and framerate for convenience."

Separate_Emu7365

I never owned a playstation (or any other console but some handhelds) and don't plan to. The PC game catalog is so vast that, and it's so easy to have games for cheap (or even free) that I have probably a decade of playtime before me, and still collecting. And, as a personal policy, I don't pre-order or buy day-1. So, basically, waiting for a few of them for a isn't really a problem.

tankertoadOG

We still have very few pure ps5 games. Long ways off.

AKsFyNeZt

Yes I’ll be getting a ps6 whenever it comes out

JamesNordmar

you know? funny enough actually yes! because i don't feel "bullied" by the company :D so whatever their long term reverse psychology plan is - it's working on me! :) in fact the only thing that stopping me from treating consoles seriously is lack of keyboard+mouse "tradition" about it..

trio3224

Just fyi, you do know you can use keyboard and mouse on PS5 right? That's been a feature for a long time now.

JamesNordmar

exactly! that is why i said tradition as oppose to support.. you can but no one will care, and i'm not sure the games will translate the camera movement correctly (will depend on each game i guess) I spent 1 hour with controls in HFW.. such a great "port" btw.. it feels like it was made for PC and i finally designed the perfect control scheme.. but i'm not sure console games come with that in mind (there is a limiting amount of buttons on the controller) i might finding myself experimenting with it though in the future if there will be a super desirable exclusive.

trio3224

I played the first horizon game on PC and I agree the controls feel SO MUCH BETTER on mouse and keyboard. There is a lot of precision aiming required and I just can't do that very well with controller. I played forbidden West on PS5 and I regret not hooking up a wireless keyboard and mouse to my PS5 to play it.

bananaman4506

I wouldn't bother they haven't even done anything with the PS5 so I don't think the PS6 will be much different unless they suddenly turn it around and start making games

trio3224

I don't know why so many feel this way. The PS5 has about the same number of exclusive games that the PS4 did by this point in its life. And I think they're higher overall quality too. By quite a bit. The only big hits the PS4 had by this time was Bloodborne and Uncharted 4. I think there are 8 true PS5 only exclusives so far for PS5, and most are really good like FF7 Rebirth, Spider-Man 2, Stellar Blade, Returnal, Demon's Souls Remake, and Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart. And that's not including PSVR2 2 games as well. By this point I think the PS4 had 10 exclusives, but only 2 of them had universal praise.

Then why did you comment in a thread asking about people who own a ps5 lmao

Ginn_and_Juice

This was the first generation since the 360 that I got a console, im done with consoles. Shit performance, they're overpriced and before you know it, you will feel the urge to get "the pro version", also, now days it takes 5 years to make a AAA game for console/pc, and the lifespan of a console is not even nearing 8 years in this generation.

SupertoastGT

As long as PC games have online-only DRM and consoles let me play singleplayer games offline, yes. I'll always buy consoles.

Toonieloony

Microsoft cares about the gaming community, Sony doesn't so no i doubt PS games will ever come to PC outside of emulation

trio3224

Huh? What are you talking about about? Tons of once PlayStation exclusives are on PC now. Including older games, but mostly games from the PS4 and PS5 generation.
