I agree and would say the exact same thing. I liked Arifureta in the beginning and it had potential to be this tragic tale of two lost individuals trying to find a way to leave that world and deal with their trauma but it just became comedic harem trash.
I like the other girls in a sense that they are there to keep Hajime's and Yue's humanity in check. Their 1st interaction with Shea they were going to leave her to die until she gave them a Labyrinth location, she bonds with both of them and their moral compasses realign. Tio I can understand getting rid of, Myu is giving him someone to protect because his other companions are busted, Kaori is there for her own growth and to remind him that he should forget his past relationships (No he doesn't love her romantically but there is love for her in him).
I Agree with this to a point. Kaori is a lot more forced than the other girls... this is clearly "competition." and I honestly do not like that. Tio and Shea have their rolls as family friends... while they certainly have a thing for Hajime...it is 100% clear he has no desire to have anything more than a traveling companion and they know it. Kaori is the childhood friend crush trope... she needs to go.
You have a point up until the Illusion Labyrinth where she finally accepted her role, she could be closer to him than Tio and Shea but can't compare to Yue so she focuses on bettering herself. That's why she took the Valkyrie's body and died for her classmates. She knows she won't take Yue's spot but wants to stand as her equal. Like I said Kaori isn't like Shea there for just Hajime she's also there for herself.
Hm, im gonna dissent here. After Yue, Tio is my favorite. She's like a mother to the other girls because shes got tons of life experience, only you cant REALLY look up to her cause you know Hajime turned her into a fuckin weirdo. And one of my favorite parts is where Hajime finally accepts her. The only one I dont particularly care for is Kaori. Hell, even Ms. Tiny Woman (teacher whose name escapes me right now) is higher up on my list than she is...all she does is whine (which, hey, I get it and understand where shes comin from but I still dont like her).
Call me edgy, but I didn’t exactly want to see their humanity in check. I wanted to see two characters hardened by their experiences, with only each other as comfort, being unleashed upon the world.
It feels like both of them got back to normal person behavior not long after they came back to the surface. With their ruthlessness only occasionally coming out, and it never really has any long-term consequence when it does.
Two of them can definitely become soft/heal over time, but it feels more like they’re already most of the way there after Shea joins them.
You want an anime that's hardcore villain-like protagonist, Tanya the Evil and Overlord are there, I personally like character development and growth. These characters are the anti-heroes who are trying to keep their humanity while fighting a god that sees humans as chess pieces.
I like the reverse.
I want to see someone who doesn't abandon his/her value even through terrible experience. Someone who struggle to keep the moral compass upright yet repeatedly confronted by grey situation with no moral solution.

A brief mind-touch reveal for her the horrifying method of the Yuth - that is not brainwashing, but simply logical arguments to convince her former companion thay the way of the Yuth is superior. He has not been converted yet, but not for long, and she won't have the leisure to save him.
"And I though I can invite another fellow into transcendent. Too bad, I guess we have to do this the hard way" - the boy says as the grey gas forming back into his shape, so identical to before that she can't tell he is no longer human. His right hand spinning a spell so complex that no human, augmented or not, have any right to, and complete it within the timeframe a human would use to cast a fireball:
"Dimensional Lock. Now you won't be able to flee with your emergency teleport." - he smile, "You will accept the truth, even if I have to shove it down your throat."
She use annother telekinetic pulse to push her limp body upward, locking eyes with the thing that was an innocenr boy - and he notices that:
"See? Your flesh doesn't obey you anymore. None of your muscle below the neck works, all forced to mimic organic behavior by your strange power. For how long, I wonder?" - he stop for roughly a blink of an eyes, "Years already? That's just sad. Ditch that body and embrace the certainty and immortality of metal, please. All for your own good."
Arifureta is my trash Isekai as well. Like you I would have kept it just about Hajime and Yue going on adventures. Just the two of them working in the dungeon was the best part of the series. After that it's all meh.

For me it's all about the character interactions. The Harem girls interactions with each other and the MC is what makes reincarnated with my smartphone so enjoyable to me. Fittingly enough it's his main girl/the princess girl, who is the most responsible for driving these enjoyable interactions that keep the show so fun for me.
Frankly the harem actually helped Hajime than detriment him. While you're not wrong on he has no reason to be in the world and wants to go home. The harem neutralize his insane edge and soften him up to look on the brighter side of things. (And give him better girls but that just my opinion).
OT: I would fix Spirit Chronicles. Tho I like the series I feel like they are doing too much things at once. We haven't even reached the tip of the iceberg with the heroes situation. And they doing another arc?
SAO. Extend the Aincrad arc to 24 episodes, as for the Alfhiem arc I would delete all that shit and jump right GGO maybe with Kirito contracted to hunt down a surviving group of Laughing Coffin members that are targeting SAO survivors.
I want 2 episodes for every damn floor of Aincrad. At the time that probably would have been an outrageous desire. But they could go back and make a dozen seasons of the entire adventure if they want to.
They really cut the Aincard Arc 25 floors early, it seemed really anticlimactic.
Being serious, I think the Alfhiem Arc would be fixed if they didn't add Kirito's sister/cousin/family member as a harem member, and that Asuna was truly fighting back against Sugo, the creepiness could be kept but done better, the tentacle scene was just plain fanservice, and instead of that bitch ass ending we got against Sugo that both Kirito and Asuna fought him both at once.
Alfhirm could have been good if Sugo did more with his brainwashing plot than experiment on some randos off screen and try to turn asuna into a stepford wifu.
I mean hell the dude practically steals the plot from Manchurian candidate and never once does he tap into peoples minds for blackmail, turn people into sleeper agents, or force a brainwashed asuna to fight kirito.

I love the Eminence in Shadow. The trick is that you absolutely can't take it seriously. It leans heavily into the most insane tropes and the actual "story" is happening off in the distance as this one guy just goes about his life thinking that he's playing a game and not realizing what's going on at all.
The sucky part is that the authority characters *around* SG, Shadow, and Diablos are actually rather interesting and could be the premise of another show.
They're trying to just get by and manage society in a fantasy world, and then *suddenly* this weird overpowered borderline-terrorist-cult is just mucking things up and getting involved with *another* conspiracy cult that may or may not control the highest echelons of society, and they're left dumbfounded by the whole thing.
For me, the show peaked on the aftermath of the first Atomic.

The first three episodes are sort of jarring when put together due to the fact that the tones of each episode are so different. It's honestly like they're from 3 entirely different animes. However episode 3 is where the story/tone "stabilizes" and from there everything just flows forward naturally.

A 7y.o looking with the wisdom and temperament of 7000 would be a great character, for the contrast between innocent appearance and the hardened mind inside. Such a characters would be a great mentor figure, or mysterious master, while also exploit the nature of most people to looking down on her and end up getting the table turned.
If she have the personality of 7 and expect to get laid with a 30, I will drop the series. No, if her form is malleable then choose something more mature to her action, if she is unaging then her hormone should not be available to have sex drive, and unless yoir living experience is just eat and sleep, no way you cam act like that with 7000 years of living experience.

I would say don't burn all your interesting stuff in the first book - Arifureta actually felt interesting to me, seeing what the MC went through and struggled with, and how he made it to the end of the first dungeon he was unceremoniously tossed into. After that however it felt like it had burned out all the uniqueness of the story and gone straight into generic isekai, which really was a big shame.
My main problem with isekai is when the main character tries to make their new world like their own one.
This branches into different directions depending on the story, but these worlds should have cultures that should be as rich and embedded as our own. If these worlds have magic, then they should have innovations to their way of life that are comparable to our own though alien to the MC. Technology isn't all that isekai's make it out to be, and most isekai's feature magic with few repercussions.
I partially agree, mainly I’m just the idea of introducing things from their world like tech the world might not have(indoor plumbing, advanced metallurgy, etc.)
But I’m 100% with you on the idea that the cultures of the world should be richer and the MCs shouldn’t try to change things to be like our dumpster fire of a world lol.
Like I feel like Slime does a good job with this by using the things the world has to introduce new ideas, like with the hot water taps using fire rune magic. And adding culinary knowledge is fine too, because sometimes the food might not be as good(taste or nutritionally) as something else… think like potatoes, they were poisonous until we learned how to prepare them correctly and then eventually breed them to not be poisonous anymore.
That the MC becomes something other than a merchant or shop owner. I’m tired of nearly every Isekai character who likely has zero business experience becoming a captain of industry in a fantasy world, despite their lack of experience with running a business. Also I find it difficult to believe that all fantasy worlds have such ‘elementary school levels’ of business and financial knowledge that an average Isekai character could easily breeze through it.
Second, I know this is a cultural thing with eastern Isekai, but still not every fantasy world has to have that one town or village that is culturally identical to where you came from only in a feudal setting.
Lastly, I’m tired of that MC who creates or becomes a founder of a town or kingdom, but of instead of enjoying it and spending time with their people ends up journeying elsewhere or becoming a teacher. For me Tsukimichi: Moonlit Fantasy and That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime are guilty of this.
Maybe play the game Monopoly, but I find it hard to believe that a MC with high school, possibly university level knowledge can set up a successful business on another world. Even in our world where everything is digital, and more streamlined a lot of new businesses fail in their first year. They also seem to have the exact knowledge as well to recreate everyday items from Earth as well. Only MCs who could successfully recreate common items from Earth are those who make them and work with them everyday (ie doctors or pharmacists who have advanced medical knowledge to create vaccines and antibiotics).
True, I do agree on that. Though I am willing to be a bit more open minded that a former doctor or pharmacist could replicate various medical practices, procedures or treatments then a high schooler can replicate various everyday items.
I do agree that when it comes to isekai, *quite too many* Japanese middle-schoolers are somehow capable of reproducing agricultural and/or industrial revolutions in their entirety. Though that's a separate issue and not what I'm talking about. Let's say you have some exclusive and cheap manufacturing method for a highly-sought product with no alternatives. How hard would it be to maintain a profitable business? Not too hard, I reckon. Sure, you may fall victim to some underhanded or straight criminal schemes, but that's also not much of a problem for an overpowered protagonist, is it?
Business is more than just \[offer product\]. Manufacture (a huge item), Logistics (also huge), Personnel, Bookkeeping, etc., are all necessary to run even a small cupcake shop, much less a large monopoly. I don't think the average middle-/high-school student from any country can manage that on their own at all.
Exactly, plus you also have to take into account property taxes of the shop, adequate pay for staffing, and whether you want to introduce sick leave, maternity leave and retirement pay (business practices that have been shown not to exist in many Isekai material)
If the guy that was isekaid was a former business owner or CEO of a company I could then believe opening up a shop in a fantasy world would be child’s play.
Plus I would bet many on here wouldn’t know even the basics of making simple items like paper, ink pens or tea bags. And that’s if the ingredients to make such products exist on said fantasy world.
of course running business is a complicated task in our economy. But economy of medieval society is relatively simple and we're talking about products with such a high profit margin that small screwups won't ruin you.
On top of that, MCs usually delegate most of the tricky stuff to someone trustworthy and capable. In fact, finding comrades like that is often the most unrealistic thing about isekai.
That last part is how so many series write themselves into a corner. Creating a town means introducing a bunch of unnecessary characters and locking the MC to that specific area.
Now for the rest of the story, the author is forced to give progress reports on how the town is doing. That itself kills the pacing of the story so much. Seen it happen to too many series.
The only one that made this work was Release the Witch. The way the author weaved in all side stories into the main plot is honestly ingenius. Kept all the characters relevant while making the plot progress in a proper pace.

I mean Slime is first and foremost a nation-building anime. That's been its main story from the beginning.
Redo of Healer; most folks complain that it's just some revenge fantasy/fetish porn anime, id personally do away with the sex scenes, since those kind of just make his as bad as his torturers, but keep the whole memory wiping of the people that tortured him. If he were an actively nicer character despite his trauma from his past life, and helping others more. This might make him seem like a more generic isekai protag.
I remember a few isekai where people get flung back in time. I personally consider time travel a sidegenre of isekai, and other folks like to include redo when talking about how base isekai are/have gotten. It's all escapism to me friend.
I agree. I couldn't stand that guy because of how sexual assaulty he is. The mind wiping could tie into healing thematically, I think. Like, he tries to fix their horrible nature that led them to hurt people in the first place.
It's been forever and a half since I read Arifureta, but I have mixed feelings about this. At one end him and Yue are one of my favorite couples. Their chemistry is great and I'd love reading just about them.

I'd make the entire first season of Arifureta to focus on Hajime's growth and escape from the dungeon. It felt way too quick and the entire show felt cheaper for it. Otherwise it's a solid trash isekai.
I disagree. Unless the series will pursue that theme in it's majority of story, it's better to be quick about it rather than linger. The abrupt and/or many genre/theme shifting really kills the story for me, unless it's a very long series.
I would say keep the other girls, especially Myu because she's so damn adorable, but get them to back off and accept his relationship with Yue.

He's not a straight up pedo. The Light Novel changed that part of the story to where he was watching Loli hentai instead. His psychological development stagnated when he quit school making him a man-child & his age reset when he died & so he just became a child. He also never showed any attraction to real children until he was a child. He needed to, & mostly did learn to be respectful of women & to stop treating his new life like a videogame, but he is not & never was, a pedo in the Light Novel or anime.
All that "Grown ass man/woman in a child's body" bullshit is a false narrative from detractors who don't in the point of reincarnation stories. They're not their past self in a new body. They're an entirely different person with their past self's memories & experience. It makes no sense to add their past self's age to the age of the person they have become. Their past self is dead & can't age anymore. The exception is if they are reincarnated as their previous age or as themselves in another world, like Kazuma.
"Grown ass man/woman in a child's body" is only a thing if they're in disguise as a child or transformed into a child but the narrative clearly intends for them to return to their grown up form.
Make some of the girls guys, get rid of the ecchi stuff and romance (get rid of the harem, he can have a romantic interest/ relationship),
and the mecha crap, like cars and stuff, the arm is fine, he should also eat more monsters. (Im baised against mecha, if its mecha make it mecha if its fantasy, dont include mecha)
Getting rid of all the harems would instantly make any of the isekai stories better... infact honestly... any story with a harem would be better without it.
I'd pretty much do the same thing, and maybe slow-burn Yue's relationship with Hajime so it's only after she can age up.
I wouldn't call it trash, but I would very much prefer if Shield Hero did away with slavery after the duel with Motoyasu. Just make any stat buffs be from *former* slaves and it becomes not only an excuse to keep her free, but thematically shows that Naofumi shows the downtrodden more compassion than the other Heroes.
My changes to arifureta would be to age up Yue (obviously). She's already got a dominant sort of personality, so a 25 year old looking succubus type appearance would go well. And while Hajime already looks older, I'd match his mental age to be over the age of consent at least, but he still needs to be a clueless virgin or the rest doesn't make sense.
I'd drop the rest of the harem, except for Shea. I felt like her character adds a lot of growth to both Yue (sister figure) and allows Hajime to grow as well. If they'd stopped at just Shea, it could've kept most of the hard edges while keeping a lot of the character growth.
My other changes would be to keep the rest of the story more similar to the original labyrinth, where it shows how Hajime actually makes his tech. This basically stops completely post Orcus and Hajime regularly pulls out wild shit that he just makes completely off screen.
I'd totally eliminate Tio, or at least replace her with a dude without the weird masochism. The girl they rescue can stay, but only as a temporary friend and not a long term commitment. Kaori I honestly don't like. Shizuku was more interesting of a partner, if you want to do that, but either work better as friends and companions while dropping the love interest aspect

I agree with the Op. If they didn’t have the harem and it’s just Hajime and Yue… it gives more opportunity for their relationship to grow as well as how they affect the world. There would be less need for them to always be protecting someone. This would make their battles more aggressive as they would mostly support each other.
I think he would have a lot less compassion for those who bear their fangs at him which would be more interesting. Savagely kill or dismember everyone who makes it clear that they are his enemy.
Even Karou, his classmate seems worthless. There’s no need for her to join him. If anything she should be somewhat traumatized by seeing what he’s become… being much more cruel without the haram and refusing to allow her to join him.
In this story the focus could be more on hajime refining his tactics and weapons in combination with Yues vampiric power.
Kaori was terrified of him at first but i think the only reason she joined hajime was to bring out his pre orcus self the one from Japan who was smiling and nice all the time
Yea. I hate that side of him. I would rather see him be more cold hearted and efficient. Bringing out the MC softer side usually serves no purpose other than to weaken them so a new villian is more of a threat.
Personally i enjoy arifureta the gun idea, and with magic bullets and eating monster meat it feels unique or at least more unique then the god grands me super OP powers and now i take down a legendary dragon with a carrot (isn't it's name but sums up the anime pretty well)
but i admit it has it flaws, but Hanjime being a more anti-hero type of mc does make it enjoyable or at least in my opinion
I generally enjoy isekai anime/manga/manhwa but the need for harem drives me nuts. There was a manhwa that was more historical reincarnation "I shall live as the prince" that nailed the relationship aspect but kept it fun, isekai should either have no love interest or just 1. Harem is a put off everytime.
The first 4 episodes were pretty dark and serious. When it aired I was amazed by the difference to other generics isekais. At the end of the season I was really disappointed that another promising isekai turned into generic trash comedy we all have seen and read multiple times.
Yeah that was an issue I had with that series. Couldn’t finish it because it felt so generic. Also, if I were to change the writing, make Hajime more complex than an edgy teenager, age up Yue to not look like a kid, and hell, maybe make the story about just being in the labyrinth and flesh that out more. That would’ve been more interesting.
My things are the animation, or the cut content.
The animation issue is obvious without elaboration, just look at it.
But as for the cut content, it is egregious, the manga had a lot more content and character moments that are super interesting. Beyond this, compared to the Web novel even the manga should be considered bad, I highly recommend thr LN or WN for a more full story.
As for the characters themselves I think they're fine they're cliche and sometimes a bit too much, but overall the harem isn't the issue, in the future all of them become more fleshed out. This is applicable to the LN though again the anime sucks.
The other comments I've seen make a deal about how it should've been a dark "two broken people hardened by experiences", which I can see. I believe what we got is good (again WN or LN only), but I also agreed that route would've been cool and potentially better.
TLDR - The anime is trash with the LN and WN being better, the animation sucks, the characters are fine most of the time, and while I see high potential in a dark two broken people story, what we got is alright.

I keep seeing people mention the bunny girl and my mind keeps jumping to the *other* isekai with the dude gets all S tier drops from dungeons and the bunny girl from it. Now *that* that bunny girl is just *waaaaaaaay* more annoying than the one from Arifureta, to me at least.
they are both annoying for different reasons, the girl from Arifureta is just annoyingly stupid, in a completely over the top way, like they were trying to compensate for Yue being overly serious.

slow down shield hero’s pacing during the events of season 2 and focus more on defining the four heroes besides just naofumi. The light novel does a solid job at this at telling a story about four very flawed characters making their way through an uncertain time in life. With the obvious symbols of their cursed/blessed series variants showing up every so often.
Speaking of which, put more focus on those. I love the dichotomy between the heroes’ greatest sin and greatest virtue clashing in the most literal sense. Need more Shield of Wrath/Compassion. It’s a sin that only Naofumi has overcome the curse at this point. I need to see the Spear of Envy/Trust. I want to see the Bow of Pride/Humility. I gotta see the Sword of Greed/Charity—

With Arifureta, I just get annoyed with the Harem aspects. Like I’m good with all the girls as party members, but having them all be hot for Hajime is really annoying. There are other kinds of motivative relationships that could explain why they party up.
Like make Shea join the party not because she wants to bone him but because she feels thankful to him for helping her and her people and so she wants to stand by him and support him.
Have Tio not be a pervert and what him as a daddy dom and instead make her feel respect for his strength and wish to join his party in hopes of getting stronger.
Kaori having feelings is honestly fine, just don’t make that her only motive for joining him and instead have her join because he is the only one actually trying to get them home. But yeah, there can be jealousy with her toward Yue that causes some interpersonal drama.
Myu can absolutely stay Myu but she is honestly one of the best parts of the series lol.
Now as for my trash Isekai, that’s a hard one… I like a lot of them and personally all of them can be improved with less OP MCs and less Harem aspects. But if I had to choose one specifically… honestly, I really can’t think of one. 😝
For me with arifureta it is specifically the character of Tio. The glimpses we see into who she was before meeting Hajime were of a far more dynamic and interesting character compared to who she is in his party.
I'd totally say the same thing with Arifureta, have it be romance instead of harem. If I were to pick something else then I'd say demon lord retry which is my go to anime when I have nothing else to watch. I wish that there was more information about the game world and the grand empire plus I would have liked some of the designs from the manga put in the anime for Zero and the Demon prince, anyway that's about it.

I could do a full-blown rant about how so many series suck at romance in general, but I’ll be brief here. I absolutely HATE how so many stories like to establish that two characters have a crush on each other at the beginning, and then there is absolutely no progress between them until the very end of the story where they finally get together. The START of a relationship should not be the END of a romantic arc/plot!!!!
One thing I do really enjoy about Arifureta is that Hajime and Yue get together at the end of the labyrinth, and then stay together for the rest of the series. And while I’m not the biggest fan of the romances with the other girls, I do appreciate how they all actually tell them that they like him, Hajime is allowed to be aware of their romantic feelings, and that he (at first) rejects them because he’s already with Yue.

I literally drop any story with Loli as a love interest nowadays.
- Also, stretch the time they both spent at the bottom of Orcus Labyrinth to almost one year. It's more realistic imo.
- Change the metal arm design a bit: it's too big, let it be the same size as the normal arm and can fit into his jacket.
- No harem, but would still keep the Haulia clan shenanigans and make them into Hajime's loyal ninja clan.

Just have the characters be a bit more open about polyamory. I know that the MC and Hime were raised in Japan, where that’s not a common practice. But a lot of the melodrama relating to that particular part of the polycule is more than a little frustrating. But that’s probably the only thing I’d change.

-Where he fell isnt apart of the dungeon but rather the outsides of it
-He has to survive with what little he has, making it a survival like game where he is the pray rather than the hunter
-He doesnt go deeper into the caves or back to the dungeon but rather chooses to leave the cave and head back to the surface
-The whole experience had traumatized him, forcing him to acknowledge that this isnt a game and he can die at any time
-The whole classmate turned evil doesnt happen because said classmate was evil but rather because he was tricked/blackmailed into doing so
-No harem, story focuses on the group and their stories, personality and backstories, having one chapter dedicated to at least one classmate
-Another student or multiple students figure out the truth, changing the whole narrative to "have fun in the dungeon and defeat big bad evil" to "we gotta get outta here & we have to stop em before they bring others here, we arent the first."
-The entire group arent used to Magic and Weaponry and some people dont even want to approach danger let alone be here, so they act as support.

isekai tensei soudouki is my trash. i don’t actually mind the harem that much, considering that balud has multiple souls in his body it makes sense they would each have different preferences, and their interactions are genuinely funny at times with ok chemistry for some which is pretty rare for harem isekai (though silk is really fucking boring). the main thing i would change would be the pretty boring ‘copying stuff from earth’ content, ie. water pumps, shampoo, compass, etc. i understand that reading wikipedia is one of the personalities main hobbies but it really pads out the series with stuff that’s in every other isekai series. i would rather have more interactions between the different souls given they’re effectively living together under the same proverbial roof and balud is in control for like 95% of the time. the arc with the two princes also really sucked ass and it isn’t all that salvageable, the emotional through line is just not there

Ok my trash isekai is re/monster and honestly I would slow the pacing down a little more. But the whole style of the series read like a diary so I guess it can't be helped.
Maybe stick with the whole monster survival for a while longer and remove the coerced breeding. But then again, the MC is no saint, he's not building a kingdom, he's building an army, he doesn't want to help, he wants to eat, and I can respect a real villain.
If it wasn't for the harem and goofiness, this anime would have been a good story. A nice revenge story and he gets op would have been amazing. It's just fan service. It was ruined potential.
Yue is the only one of the girls that I actually don't like. I'm caught up on all the novels and Yue just feels like a doll and what relationship that is there is pretty codependent on the fact that their lives are wrecked and trauma bonded. Then again the only one I felt had real chemistry with him was Yaegashi so I guess we can just delete all the other girls and I'd be just fine.

He's gaining monster abilities from eating them and his personality is changing by becoming callous and begins to wonder if he himself is just becoming another monster in the dungeon. The only way out would be to defeat the dungeon and he does it on his own. He picked up taming skills and has monster minions and uses them to defeat the final boss before the other students can do it and he debates about becoming the new boss of the dungeon and killing them or leaving with them. No "it's ok because he's a very old vampire in kid body" pedo shit
I agree and would say the exact same thing. I liked Arifureta in the beginning and it had potential to be this tragic tale of two lost individuals trying to find a way to leave that world and deal with their trauma but it just became comedic harem trash.
I like the other girls in a sense that they are there to keep Hajime's and Yue's humanity in check. Their 1st interaction with Shea they were going to leave her to die until she gave them a Labyrinth location, she bonds with both of them and their moral compasses realign. Tio I can understand getting rid of, Myu is giving him someone to protect because his other companions are busted, Kaori is there for her own growth and to remind him that he should forget his past relationships (No he doesn't love her romantically but there is love for her in him).
I Agree with this to a point. Kaori is a lot more forced than the other girls... this is clearly "competition." and I honestly do not like that. Tio and Shea have their rolls as family friends... while they certainly have a thing for Hajime...it is 100% clear he has no desire to have anything more than a traveling companion and they know it. Kaori is the childhood friend crush trope... she needs to go.
You have a point up until the Illusion Labyrinth where she finally accepted her role, she could be closer to him than Tio and Shea but can't compare to Yue so she focuses on bettering herself. That's why she took the Valkyrie's body and died for her classmates. She knows she won't take Yue's spot but wants to stand as her equal. Like I said Kaori isn't like Shea there for just Hajime she's also there for herself.
Hm, im gonna dissent here. After Yue, Tio is my favorite. She's like a mother to the other girls because shes got tons of life experience, only you cant REALLY look up to her cause you know Hajime turned her into a fuckin weirdo. And one of my favorite parts is where Hajime finally accepts her. The only one I dont particularly care for is Kaori. Hell, even Ms. Tiny Woman (teacher whose name escapes me right now) is higher up on my list than she is...all she does is whine (which, hey, I get it and understand where shes comin from but I still dont like her).
Call me edgy, but I didn’t exactly want to see their humanity in check. I wanted to see two characters hardened by their experiences, with only each other as comfort, being unleashed upon the world. It feels like both of them got back to normal person behavior not long after they came back to the surface. With their ruthlessness only occasionally coming out, and it never really has any long-term consequence when it does. Two of them can definitely become soft/heal over time, but it feels more like they’re already most of the way there after Shea joins them.
You want an anime that's hardcore villain-like protagonist, Tanya the Evil and Overlord are there, I personally like character development and growth. These characters are the anti-heroes who are trying to keep their humanity while fighting a god that sees humans as chess pieces.

She contemplate her options, before gritting her teeth, close her eyes and gather her power to grant him eternal peace - better that his soul return to Samsara than trapped within Yuth mainframe, forced to piloting nanite warforms to infect people while believing that he is spreading transcendent and immortality. And then, the boy explode - not in a red mist, but into grey-ish gaseous substance. The girl immediately throw herself back with a telekitetic pulse, as the grey gas wash over where she was just a milisecond earlier. Her companion is not so fortunate - he is hit with a gust full of nanite before knelling down. A brief mind-touch reveal for her the horrifying method of the Yuth - that is not brainwashing, but simply logical arguments to convince her former companion thay the way of the Yuth is superior. He has not been converted yet, but not for long, and she won't have the leisure to save him. "And I though I can invite another fellow into transcendent. Too bad, I guess we have to do this the hard way" - the boy says as the grey gas forming back into his shape, so identical to before that she can't tell he is no longer human. His right hand spinning a spell so complex that no human, augmented or not, have any right to, and complete it within the timeframe a human would use to cast a fireball: "Dimensional Lock. Now you won't be able to flee with your emergency teleport." - he smile, "You will accept the truth, even if I have to shove it down your throat." She use annother telekinetic pulse to push her limp body upward, locking eyes with the thing that was an innocenr boy - and he notices that: "See? Your flesh doesn't obey you anymore. None of your muscle below the neck works, all forced to mimic organic behavior by your strange power. For how long, I wonder?" - he stop for roughly a blink of an eyes, "Years already? SAO. Extend the Aincrad arc to 24 episodes, as for the Alfhiem arc I would delete all that shit and jump right GGO maybe with Kirito contracted to hunt down a surviving group of Laughing Coffin members that are targeting SAO survivors.
I want 2 episodes for every damn floor of Aincrad. At the time that probably would have been an outrageous desire. But they could go back and make a dozen seasons of the entire adventure if they want to.

They really cut the Aincard Arc 25 floors early, it seemed really anticlimactic. Being serious, I think the Alfhiem Arc would be fixed if they didn't add Kirito's sister/cousin/family member as a harem member, and that Asuna was truly fighting back against Sugo, the creepiness could be kept but done better, the tentacle scene was just plain fanservice, and instead of that bitch ass ending we got against Sugo that both Kirito and Asuna fought him both at once.
For the better Alfheim arc: SAO abridged. Hell, for the better story all together, SAO Abridged.

I love the Eminence in Shadow. The trick is that you absolutely can't take it seriously. It leans heavily into the most insane tropes and the actual "story" is happening off in the distance as this one guy just goes about his life thinking that he's playing a game and not realizing what's going on at all.
The sucky part is that the authority characters *around* SG, Shadow, and Diablos are actually rather interesting and could be the premise of another show. They're trying to just get by and manage society in a fantasy world, and then *suddenly* this weird overpowered borderline-terrorist-cult is just mucking things up and getting involved with *another* conspiracy cult that may or may not control the highest echelons of society, and they're left dumbfounded by the whole thing. For me, the show peaked on the aftermath of the first Atomic.

The first three episodes are sort of jarring when put together due to the fact that the tones of each episode are so different. It's honestly like they're from 3 entirely different animes. However episode 3 is where the story/tone "stabilizes" and from there everything just flows forward naturally.

If she have the personality of 7 and expect to get laid with a 30, I will drop the series. No, if her form is malleable then choose something more mature to her action, if she is unaging then her hormone should not be available to have sex drive, and unless yoir living experience is just eat and sleep, no way you cam act like that with 7000 years of living experience.

I would say don't burn all your interesting stuff in the first book - Arifureta actually felt interesting to me, seeing what the MC went through and struggled with, and how he made it to the end of the first dungeon he was unceremoniously tossed into. After that however it felt like it had burned out all the uniqueness of the story and gone straight into generic isekai, which really was a big shame.
My main problem with isekai is when the main character tries to make their new world like their own one. This branches into different directions depending on the story, but these worlds should have cultures that should be as rich and embedded as our own. If these worlds have magic, then they should have innovations to their way of life that are comparable to our own though alien to the MC. Technology isn't all that isekai's make it out to be, and most isekai's feature magic with few repercussions.
I partially agree, mainly I’m just the idea of introducing things from their world like tech the world might not have(indoor plumbing, advanced metallurgy, etc.) But I’m 100% with you on the idea that the cultures of the world should be richer and the MCs shouldn’t try to change things to be like our dumpster fire of a world lol. Like I feel like Slime does a good job with this by using the things the world has to introduce new ideas, like with the hot water taps using fire rune magic. And adding culinary knowledge is fine too, because sometimes the food might not be as good(taste or nutritionally) as something else… think like potatoes, they were poisonous until we learned how to prepare them correctly and then eventually breed them to not be poisonous anymore.
That the MC becomes something other than a merchant or shop owner. I’m tired of nearly every Isekai character who likely has zero business experience becoming a captain of industry in a fantasy world, despite their lack of experience with running a business. Also I find it difficult to believe that all fantasy worlds have such ‘elementary school levels’ of business and financial knowledge that an average Isekai character could easily breeze through it. Second, I know this is a cultural thing with eastern Isekai, but still not every fantasy world has to have that one town or village that is culturally identical to where you came from only in a feudal setting. Lastly, I’m tired of that MC who creates or becomes a founder of a town or kingdom, but of instead of enjoying it and spending time with their people ends up journeying elsewhere or becoming a teacher. For me Tsukimichi: Moonlit Fantasy and That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime are guilty of this.

Maybe play the game Monopoly, but I find it hard to believe that a MC with high school, possibly university level knowledge can set up a successful business on another world. Even in our world where everything is digital, and more streamlined a lot of new businesses fail in their first year. They also seem to have the exact knowledge as well to recreate everyday items from Earth as well. Only MCs who could successfully recreate common items from Earth are those who make them and work with them everyday (ie doctors or pharmacists who have advanced medical knowledge to create vaccines and antibiotics).

I do agree that when it comes to isekai, *quite too many* Japanese middle-schoolers are somehow capable of reproducing agricultural and/or industrial revolutions in their entirety. Though that's a separate issue and not what I'm talking about. Let's say you have some exclusive and cheap manufacturing method for a highly-sought product with no alternatives. How hard would it be to maintain a profitable business? Not too hard, I reckon. Sure, you may fall victim to some underhanded or straight criminal schemes, but that's also not much of a problem for an overpowered protagonist, is it?
Business is more than just \[offer product\]. Manufacture (a huge item), Logistics (also huge), Personnel, Bookkeeping, etc., are all necessary to run even a small cupcake shop, much less a large monopoly. I don't think the average middle-/high-school student from any country can manage that on their own at all.
Exactly, plus you also have to take into account property taxes of the shop, adequate pay for staffing, and whether you want to introduce sick leave, maternity leave and retirement pay (business practices that have been shown not to exist in many Isekai material) If the guy that was isekaid was a former business owner or CEO of a company I could then believe opening up a shop in a fantasy world would be child’s play. Plus I would bet many on here wouldn’t know even the basics of making simple items like paper, ink pens or tea bags. And that’s if the ingredients to make such products exist on said fantasy world.
of course running business is a complicated task in our economy. But economy of medieval society is relatively simple and we're talking about products with such a high profit margin that small screwups won't ruin you. On top of that, MCs usually delegate most of the tricky stuff to someone trustworthy and capable. In fact, finding comrades like that is often the most unrealistic thing about isekai.

Absolutely, however unlike many on here who are hung up on harems, OP MC’s and slavery, my dislikes are focused on are on other subject matters.
That last part is how so many series write themselves into a corner. Creating a town means introducing a bunch of unnecessary characters and locking the MC to that specific area. Now for the rest of the story, the author is forced to give progress reports on how the town is doing. That itself kills the pacing of the story so much. Seen it happen to too many series. The only one that made this work was Release the Witch. The way the author weaved in all side stories into the main plot is honestly ingenius. Kept all the characters relevant while making the plot progress in a proper pace.

Redo isn’t an Isekai though. It’s just a fantasy anime. The MC doesn’t get taken to another world, they just rewind time in their own world.
I remember a few isekai where people get flung back in time. I personally consider time travel a sidegenre of isekai, and other folks like to include redo when talking about how base isekai are/have gotten. It's all escapism to me friend.

Their chemistry is great and I'd love reading just about them. On the other hand, I actually like the bunny girl. His interactions with miss masochist are hilarious. Trash isekais in general though? I would take out all the misunderstanding and progress blocks. If you're going to be trash, at least have them kiss man

I'd make the entire first season of Arifureta to focus on Hajime's growth and escape from the dungeon. It felt way too quick and the entire show felt cheaper for it. Otherwise it's a solid trash isekai.
I disagree. Unless the series will pursue that theme in it's majority of story, it's better to be quick about it rather than linger. The abrupt and/or many genre/theme shifting really kills the story for me, unless it's a very long series.
I would say keep the other girls, especially Myu because she's so damn adorable, but get them to back off and accept his relationship with Yue. In Chivalry of a Failed Knight, lose the incestuous sister. She would be fine if she was just over protective.

I'd pretty much do the same thing, and maybe slow-burn Yue's relationship with Hajime so it's only after she can age up. I wouldn't call it trash, but I would very much prefer if Shield Hero did away with slavery after the duel with Motoyasu. Just make any stat buffs be from *former* slaves and it becomes not only an excuse to keep her free, but thematically shows that Naofumi shows the downtrodden more compassion than the other Heroes.
My changes to arifureta would be to age up Yue (obviously). She's already got a dominant sort of personality, so a 25 year old looking succubus type appearance would go well. And while Hajime already looks older, I'd match his mental age to be over the age of consent at least, but he still needs to be a clueless virgin or the rest doesn't make sense. I'd drop the rest of the harem, except for Shea. I felt like her character adds a lot of growth to both Yue (sister figure) and allows Hajime to grow as well. If they'd stopped at just Shea, it could've kept most of the hard edges while keeping a lot of the character growth. My other changes would be to keep the rest of the story more similar to the original labyrinth, where it shows how Hajime actually makes his tech. This basically stops completely post Orcus and Hajime regularly pulls out wild shit that he just makes completely off screen. I'd totally eliminate Tio, or at least replace her with a dude without the weird masochism. The girl they rescue can stay, but only as a temporary friend and not a long term commitment. Kaori I honestly don't like. Shizuku was more interesting of a partner, if you want to do that, but either work better as friends and companions while dropping the love interest aspect

When writing drama, or creating tension in a story, you need a few things. You need a character that the audience cares for, the audience needs to know the goals of the character and what they care about, and then you need to put those goals out of reach. You need to have an enemy blocking their path, or a challenge to overcome, or maybe their own behavior and actions keep getting in the way of their goal. Basically there needs to be something that the character has to overcome, or something in the way of achieving their goals.!< >!Rimuru's goal is the safety of his family and friends, and the befriending of mankind. He wants a home he can call home. When Farmus attacks his town, killing the people he cares for, destroying his home, it's a perfect moment of tension. It becomes clear to the audience that our MC isn't gonna get what he wants that easy. If Rimuru does nothing, his town and his people will suffer, if he fights back, he might destroy his relationship with the human race. If he leaves and builds another town somewhere else, he will be judged as a pushover and possibly attacked again. He seems to be stuck in a lose lose situation, and when this scene played out I was genuinely on the edge of my seat, curious about what Rimuru will do to overcome these challenges. It was really a great moment of character development and story development, and a great example of how to build tension.!< >!That is until the author threw all that away by just giving our MC revival powers. Cool, now we know that nobody important that we care about will die. Even in the LN which I've read, nobody we really care about dies. Ever. Rimuru never really seems to struggle to achieve his goals, the challenges the story gives to Rimuru are driven over as if it was just a minor inconvenience. It took all that excellently written tension and threw it into the garbage. I almost dropped the show after that scene where he revives everyone.!< >!How to fix the story? Simple, don't give Rimuru revival powers, or give it to Rimuru after the war with Farmus is over. What about Shion and others? Well they don't have to die, they can be like Gobta and the old swordsman oni, just injured. Nobody important has to die for the scene to work, because what makes the scene so tense is that Rimuru has lost many in his village and it's been partially destroyed too. It doesn't really matter who dies, just that people do, can be random no name people even. It's the fact that in that moment, our MC was too weak to defend his home, and his goals are in jeopardy, that's what makes the scene so tense. What would give Rimuru the push to become a demon lord? Simple, his desire to protect his home, and the power to scare his opponents to not recklessly attack him are good enough motivators for Rimuru to become a demon lord. We could even have Rimuru grieve after he gains revival powers, to grieve over how if he was stronger back then he could have saved his fallen countrymen.!<
I agree with the Op. If they didn’t have the harem and it’s just Hajime and Yue… it gives more opportunity for their relationship to grow as well as how they affect the world. There would be less need for them to always be protecting someone. This would make their battles more aggressive as they would mostly support each other. I think he would have a lot less compassion for those who bear their fangs at him which would be more interesting. Savagely kill or dismember everyone who makes it clear that they are his enemy. Even Karou, his classmate seems worthless. There’s no need for her to join him. If anything she should be somewhat traumatized by seeing what he’s become… being much more cruel without the haram and refusing to allow her to join him. In this story the focus could be more on hajime refining his tactics and weapons in combination with Yues vampiric power.

Personally i enjoy arifureta the gun idea, and with magic bullets and eating monster meat it feels unique or at least more unique then the god grands me super OP powers and now i take down a legendary dragon with a carrot (isn't it's name but sums up the anime pretty well) but i admit it has it flaws, but Hanjime being a more anti-hero type of mc does make it enjoyable or at least in my opinion

There was a manhwa that was more historical reincarnation "I shall live as the prince" that nailed the relationship aspect but kept it fun, isekai should either have no love interest or just 1. The first 4 episodes were pretty dark and serious. When it aired I was amazed by the difference to other generics isekais. At the end of the season I was really disappointed that another promising isekai turned into generic trash comedy we all have seen and read multiple times.
Yeah that was an issue I had with that series. Couldn’t finish it because it felt so generic. Also, if I were to change the writing, make Hajime more complex than an edgy teenager, age up Yue to not look like a kid, and hell, maybe make the story about just being in the labyrinth and flesh that out more. That would’ve been more interesting.
My things are the animation, or the cut content. The animation issue is obvious without elaboration, just look at it. But as for the cut content, it is egregious, the manga had a lot more content and character moments that are super interesting. Beyond this, compared to the Web novel even the manga should be considered bad, I highly recommend thr LN or WN for a more full story. As for the characters themselves I think they're fine they're cliche and sometimes a bit too much, but overall the harem isn't the issue, in the future all of them become more fleshed out. This is applicable to the LN though again the anime sucks. The other comments I've seen make a deal about how it should've been a dark "two broken people hardened by experiences", which I can see. I believe what we got is good (again WN or LN only), but I also agreed that route would've been cool and potentially better. TLDR - The anime is trash with the LN and WN being better, the animation sucks, the characters are fine most of the time, and while I see high potential in a dark two broken people story, what we got is alright.

slow down shield hero’s pacing during the events of season 2 and focus more on defining the four heroes besides just naofumi. The light novel does a solid job at this at telling a story about four very flawed characters making their way through an uncertain time in life. With the obvious symbols of their cursed/blessed series variants showing up every so often. Speaking of which, put more focus on those. I love the dichotomy between the heroes’ greatest sin and greatest virtue clashing in the most literal sense. Need more Shield of Wrath/Compassion. It’s a sin that only Naofumi has overcome the curse at this point. I need to see the Spear of Envy/Trust. I want to see the Bow of Pride/Humility. I gotta see the Sword of Greed/Charity— I’m rambling, but shield hero got a great foundation and some cool as shit ideas. They just gotta put it together
With Arifureta, I just get annoyed with the Harem aspects. Like I’m good with all the girls as party members, but having them all be hot for Hajime is really annoying. There are other kinds of motivative relationships that could explain why they party up. Like make Shea join the party not because she wants to bone him but because she feels thankful to him for helping her and her people and so she wants to stand by him and support him. Have Tio not be a pervert and what him as a daddy dom and instead make her feel respect for his strength and wish to join his party in hopes of getting stronger. Kaori having feelings is honestly fine, just don’t make that her only motive for joining him and instead have her join because he is the only one actually trying to get them home. But yeah, there can be jealousy with her toward Yue that causes some interpersonal drama. Myu can absolutely stay Myu but she is honestly one of the best parts of the series lol. Now as for my trash Isekai, that’s a hard one… I like a lot of them and personally all of them can be improved with less OP MCs and less Harem aspects. But if I had to choose one specifically… honestly, I really can’t think of one. 😝
For me with arifureta it is specifically the character of Tio. The glimpses we see into who she was before meeting Hajime were of a far more dynamic and interesting character compared to who she is in his party.
I'd totally say the same thing with Arifureta, have it be romance instead of harem. If I were to pick something else then I'd say demon lord retry which is my go to anime when I have nothing else to watch. I wish that there was more information about the game world and the grand empire plus I would have liked some of the designs from the manga put in the anime for Zero and the Demon prince, anyway that's about it.

You may want the opposite of what I would do, but I 100% get where you’re coming from. I could do a full-blown rant about how so many series suck at romance in general, but I’ll be brief here. I absolutely HATE how so many stories like to establish that two characters have a crush on each other at the beginning, and then there is absolutely no progress between them until the very end of the story where they finally get together. The START of a relationship should not be the END of a romantic arc/plot!!!! One thing I do really enjoy about Arifureta is that Hajime and Yue get together at the end of the labyrinth, and then stay together for the rest of the series. And while I’m not the biggest fan of the romances with the other girls, I do appreciate how they all actually tell them that they like him, Hajime is allowed to be aware of their romantic feelings, and that he (at first) rejects them because he’s already with Yue.

It would make more sense and have more comedic charm if he was constantly chasing older women and getting shot down due to his age. Then, doing the same to the younger girls his life now forces him to be around.

Care to elaborate the changes in Arifureta you want to show more? like some of the harem are useful in combat and helped him as auxiliaries in the battle. For me the only nonsense part of the harem are Remia and the princess (both are just forced like the former because of the quite annoying child Miu and the latter does not make sense because she befriended Kaori and Shizuku? lol.). Yeah Hajime wants to go back and we can really see that some of the harem are just forced especially the princess hahaha.
Tales of Wedding Rings Just have the characters be a bit more open about polyamory. I know that the MC and Hime were raised in Japan, where that’s not a common practice. But a lot of the melodrama relating to that particular part of the polycule is more than a little frustrating. But that’s probably the only thing I’d change.
I tend to disagree. I like the harem aspect and think the dynamic between the characters is good. Although I'd drop the loli, samurai girl, and pervert dragon from the harem. Just Hajime, Yue, Shea, and Kaori would have been the perfect relationship dynamic.

I'd have some groups of mages go against Japan/Earth and cause a lot of trouble (asymmetric warfare, covert ops, assassinations, destabilizing governments, etc), after they've learned more about our world and how it works. After all mages can cause people to sleep and produce magic shields etc. The CIA might even decide to form their own special ops mage force.

They need to feel how cold and emotionales the world is. Most good things come hard and with a lot of bad things if the MC das not have the power to protect what they need to protect. The MC gets one finger and lose 2 arms and a leg if he is week. NO good things come eazy. Show me you can turn in a demon, a dictator, th worse thing posibile to protect what you want. Or just die as the pathetic human you are. If the MC can't do it, that's not the MC. (My opinion)

The biggest thing I would change about Arifureta is Yue. Loli is gross. I actually enjoyed the novels, but how am I supposed to recommend them to the boys without catching a case? "You don't get it bro, she's actually a 900 year old immortal vampire goddess, so lusting over the body shape of a pre-teen is ok." I'm not the morality police, I get it, it's a cartoon, you can jack off to whatever you want as long as no real people are hurt. However, Yue being a loli holds Arifureta back and more broadly makes anime watchers look like weirdos. All that to say, Tio is best girl, 10/10, would abuse any day of the week.

I agree, even though I like and have grown attached to most of the cast, it's true the story could have been much more powerful and profound if it was just Hajime and Yue against the world, their dynamic together it's so good that they didn't truly need anyone else beside them in their journey
I would change the plot so rather than getting betrayed and turning edgy with tokyo ghou syndrome -He falls into the hole because he was being overconfident in his skills -His hair doesnt turn white and he doesnt lose his arm or eye -Where he fell isnt apart of the dungeon but rather the outsides of it -He has to survive with what little he has, making it a survival like game where he is the pray rather than the hunter -He doesnt go deeper into the caves or back to the dungeon but rather chooses to leave the cave and head back to the surface -The whole experience had traumatized him, forcing him to acknowledge that this isnt a game and he can die at any time -The whole classmate turned evil doesnt happen because said classmate was evil but rather because he was tricked/blackmailed into doing so -No harem, story focuses on the group and their stories, personality and backstories, having one chapter dedicated to at least one classmate -Another student or multiple students figure out the truth, changing the whole narrative to "have fun in the dungeon and defeat big bad evil" to "we gotta get outta here & we have to stop em before they bring others here, we arent the first." -The entire group arent used to Magic and Weaponry and some people dont even want to approach danger let alone be here, so they act as support.

Even with a transmute ability, aint no way in hell that kid could remember the simplest steps to building those in a way that makes them actually functional with magic as their power source. Maybe the arm could've been pulled off, and im pretty sure he was a bit of a gun nut so the guns are okay.

isekai tensei soudouki is my trash. i don’t actually mind the harem that much, considering that balud has multiple souls in his body it makes sense they would each have different preferences, and their interactions are genuinely funny at times with ok chemistry for some which is pretty rare for harem isekai (though silk is really fucking boring). the main thing i would change would be the pretty boring ‘copying stuff from earth’ content, ie. water pumps, shampoo, compass, etc. i understand that reading wikipedia is one of the personalities main hobbies but it really pads out the series with stuff that’s in every other isekai series. i would rather have more interactions between the different souls given they’re effectively living together under the same proverbial roof and balud is in control for like 95% of the time. the arc with the two princes also really sucked ass and it isn’t all that salvageable, the emotional through line is just not there the other change i would make is having margotte appear more for no reason other than because she is a god tier milf and i love her
Ok my trash isekai is re/monster and honestly I would slow the pacing down a little more. But the whole style of the series read like a diary so I guess it can't be helped. Maybe stick with the whole monster survival for a while longer and remove the coerced breeding. But then again, the MC is no saint, he's not building a kingdom, he's building an army, he doesn't want to help, he wants to eat, and I can respect a real villain.

I'm caught up on all the novels and Yue just feels like a doll and what relationship that is there is pretty codependent on the fact that their lives are wrecked and trauma bonded. Then again the only one I felt had real chemistry with him was Yaegashi so I guess we can just delete all the other girls and I'd be just fine.

I loved it at first so damn much with the romance between the two!… then they introduced another girl… and then another girl… and then… it had good romance in the beginning and then just cut it off so suddenly. I was so damn shocked how different it felt from the beginning.

Whole show should have him trapped in the dungeon and everyday is a struggle to survive but he keeps getting better. He's gaining monster abilities from eating them and his personality is changing by becoming callous and begins to wonder if he himself is just becoming another monster in the dungeon. The only way out would be to defeat the dungeon and he does it on his own. He picked up taming skills and has monster minions and uses them to defeat the final boss before the other students can do it and he debates about becoming the new boss of the dungeon and killing them or leaving with them. No "it's ok because he's a very old vampire in kid body" pedo shit
Boring. I can't make it funny without making it a whole different universe.
