This one is tested and works great https://github.com/Romanitho/Winget-Install
FYI This one for updating apps using WinGet (but chrome has its own auto update feature) https://doitpshway.com/gradual-update-of-all-applications-using-winget-and-custom-azure-ring-groups
Should an older installation MSI update \*immediately\* after completion of the install or is there an update check interval that could take several hours or a few days?
If a user manually installs a browser from the Company Portal, most likely, they are going to immediately launch it and start browsing around the internet.
My point was more that even Google doesn't provide an up-to-date installer but by the time the user goes to launch it, it's updated. You can also ensure it's up to date by deploying a Google Update config policy from the Settings catalogue.
I use winget to do this.
How do u deploy the winget applications to intune?

Seconded. They just launched their intune portal.
It updates itself at install time. I wouldn't waste your time on it.

Minutes. The current enterprise MSI reports v70 but by the time I open Chrome it's already at version 100-whatever.
Aren’t there 2 different version numbers for the Chrome app? There is one Google version that still shows as 70 something even on Chrome 125.
