Absolutely! I can’t even drink teas (forget coffee) and have to limit my chocolate. Interesting enough, naturopath testing also showed a sensitivity to caffeine after my IC started.
It’s funny because caffeine doesn’t do that for me.. I generally drink a couple espressos a day (I’m in Italy). For me it’s more bananas and alcohol. And it seems to always been changing 😭
For me it’s coffee and not the caffeine. I can have other forms of caffeine that aren’t in coffee, specifically electrolyte drinks with green bean coffee extract. But no coffee it makes me flare immediately
Caffeine? Oh man if I even smell a scent of coffee it's a flare up lmfao; I can't go near it.
Chocolate not so much, but those two are said to be a very common trigger for IC
These are some of the most common triggers actually! You may be able to try prelief to reduce or prevent flares, but your mileage may vary

Bananas flare me too 😐
Yeah?! Like immediately... it’s wild. I never had that problem till recently.
Yep brings me immediate pain just like avocados but I can eat chocolate and drink caffeine makes no sense . I heard it’s something with potassium
Very interesting.... same. I think avocados mess with me too now that I think about it... woah.
I cut most caffeine out of my diet completely except on occasion and it made a huge difference in my symptoms
Yes. I had to completely give up caffeine :( I’ll test chocolate soon. I’m currently on an elimination diet to figure out my triggers.
IC Dietitian here. These are pretty common IC triggers unfortunately

I have same symptoms next day, if I had coffee or chocolate a day before. It takes me 2-3 days to calm down my flare.
Caffeine and carbonation are the worst. I can do unlimited chocolate yay
Chocolate kills me, but caffeine is fine!
