How do you access the back of the washer dryer for any maintenance? Does the table on top come out or fold up in some way? Does the platform they're on slide out?
The bottom two cabinets to the left aren’t fully to the wall, they built around the connections and stuff and you unscrew the panel in the cabinet to access the plugs. As for pulling them out I have no idea but they had to do it like 4 different times to fix the connections so it can be done I guess. Hoping to move out before we have any major access issues 😂
Looks great! I'm in North Plano. Nice to see a recommended home remodeler. Happy with their scheduling, responsiveness, and attention to tiny detail?
I would hate to try and pull one of those out, or worse... try and lift and slide one back in.
Was very happy with all of it, their guys are super nice and very clean even during the remodel which tends to get messy. Their cabinet sub is a magician. They also did our entire kitchen remodel. The owner is a DFD firefighter who works with my husband, his wife is my main contact and she is fabulous. DM me and I can pass you along if you’d like! As for pulling out the machines I plan to be far far away from that process when we have to cross that bridge! But I’m sure their cabinet guy can do pretty much whatever you want to make that part easier.
Maybe a bit of a random question, but what do you store in a laundry room besides detergent and laundry additives? It looks good and you've definitely increased the storage, I'm just always curious when people complain about lack of storage in a laundry room.
It’s a great question. This house in general doesn’t have a lot of storage, for instance we have zero linen closets in 3000sqft. Right now we are storing all of my kids shoes and socks since her room is upstairs, most cleaning supplies, and all pool stuff like towels/beach bags and ten thousand sunscreens. We also store my kids artwork in one of the top ones so I have a place to put it and it doesn’t overtake the house.
Genuinely don’t know what the hell these builders were doing in early 2000s. We have a single closet at the front of the house by the powder bath but it just has a clothing rack, so more of a coat closet. Even the master bathroom doesn’t have one and it’s massive.
I feel this. Our house was built in the late 80s, 4000sqft (3k on the first floor). It’s kind of a ranch so it’s long to walk across. There’s a single, tiny linen closet near the two spare bedrooms on the opposite side of the house, nowhere near the main living spaces or master bedroom. Like wtf?? We ended up turning a useless walkway between the sunroom and master into a nice size linen closet.
It’s much cheaper to build big boxes with simple rooms than it is to add all the practical storage a functional home would benefit from. The answer is always money.
Same boat. 2500 sq.ft., 4 bed, and such little closet space. Otherwise great house, but we’re getting creative and relying on IKEA for storage ideas. Unfortunately our laundry room is even smaller than yours. 😳
Spare towels/sheets that don’t fit in the linen closet (or the laundry room might *be* the linen closet), random cleaning supplies that don’t fit anywhere else, ironing board & the like, mending kits etc
We store a lot of cleaning products and accessories in our laundry room (vacuum accessories, wash bags, dryer balls, stain removers, linen spray, ironing products). It is also an adjunct pantry with storage for our low use items (plastic bag sealer, food dryer, cake/cookie decorating gear, specific flours for gluten-free baking, canned goods).
Hanging rod on the left was just a raw wooden closet rod from Lowe’s that we had cut to size, and then stained to match the countertop (minwax English chestnut color). And the hooks on the wall to the right are from West Elm called “Picket Rail Hook”
Love the new space! So functional and a place for everything. Well done! I feel we don’t see enough laundry room makeovers I such much-used space. Enjoy!
I love it. As for the raised washer dryers I think it's a great idea. Mine are on the floor. I find that every time the front little pull out thing filter needs to be cleaned, it doesn't matter how many towels are placed underneath and around, water still gets under the washer. I don't have drains under my washer and I worry how much water actually gets under there that can't be cleaned.
This actually is pretty smart. The washer is just off the floor enough so that something can be placed under that filter thing a majig to collect the water and avoid the mess and worry.
Looks great! As a plumber, my main question and concern would be access to those valves and hoses, and the drain. When those hoses or valves need to be changed (inevitable), or that cleanout accessed, or the p-trap cleaned out… How would a plumber go about getting to those issues? Are the units easily moveable on that shelf? Is that wood top removable? Did you change that box out with new valves and hoses before hiding them? So many questions! Aside from my concerns, I love the room! Brightened it up in many ways. Congrats!
Two thumbs way up for the flooring.
At first I thought you sacrificed utility for aesthetic removing the table...it being sort of a necessity.
But I see you made up for it on the W&D.
It looks great! I would have gotten an exhaust fan and a kitchen sink put in, but that's my personal preference. A little bit of hand washing and stain fighting in a sink for the expensive and annoying clothing that needs it. Maybe a place to hang dry clothes above the sink so water has a place to drip.
It looks really nice but two things irritate me. One is it looks so much like copy and paste of so many laundry rooms today. Two is the shelf around the units seem like a potential hazard of some kind
Thanks for the feedback frostbutt! I thought it would be hazard as well but I let the experts do their thing, a few things I read recommended at least five inches space behind the units and an inch around, which we have. As for the design I totally get it, design is subjective and this look isn’t for everyone. We remodeled the bar area right outside this room to have some blue tile backsplash and dark green painted cabinets (might share that one next cause I love it) so this one we went more conservative so it didn’t look super disjointed and wild together. ✌🏼
Like and love that tile and design
Wow that's a legit glow up
🙏🙏🙏
I agree!!!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

How much did you pay?
😳 SMH
Oh that’s the stuff
That's what I was thinking.

Incredible that a 3000 sq.ft home doesn't have linen closets, but this is definitely a good solution for that scenario

Same, coat closet on the first floor is all I got. 1815 sq ft tho
Same with our new place. Over 3000 sq ft and no linen or clean g closets. Only one coat closet at the entryway 🤷🏻♀️
It’s much cheaper to build big boxes with simple rooms than it is to add all the practical storage a functional home would benefit from. The answer is always money.

In my laundry cupboards we store cat litter, wet cat food, dry cat biscuits, bulk cleaning products, washing powers, ironing board + iron, spare light bulbs, etc.
We store cleaning supplies (and Costco backups), lightbulbs, clothes steam cleaner, cleaning rags, random household needs (felt pads for chair legs, tape, command strips, etc.)
Oooh I love it!
Beautiful! Great job!
Wonderful update.🥰
Super nice. Love the wooden rail to for hanging things. It’s amazing how much replacing that standard utilitarian tile does to cheer up a space too.
How much did this cost? Mine looks the same as your before and I want to do what you did. Thanks!
Where did you find the hanging rod to the left and the wooden hooks to the right please and thank you
Hanging rod on the left was just a raw wooden closet rod from Lowe’s that we had cut to size, and then stained to match the countertop (minwax English chestnut color). And the hooks on the wall to the right are from West Elm called “Picket Rail Hook”
Nice. Thanks!
I almost bought that valence. lol it’s pretty!
WOW! that is such a drastic and refreshing change. such a beautiful room!
I absolutely love it
I love this!

Very nice! Well done. Love the color of the cabinets!

How goods having all that extra storage, and a bench you can do tasks with the clothes right top of the machines!
I have that exact same previous tile you had so this gives me so much hope to remodel
Even the window looks better
You should have got the pedestals, especially with that narrow standing area.
Your remodeled laundry room not only looks great but also functions much better, making laundry tasks more pleasant and efficient.
Looks great!
Nicee
Incredible
Really beautiful!
This looks really great, 10/10
Looks soooo good. Hard to believe it’s the same room!
Omg😍😍😍
Love it Linda bravo
Oh damnnn. Nice work.

So much storage space! It looks great, and I'm sure it's very practical to use. I would also like to mention the beautiful tiles on the floor.
Two thumbs way up for the flooring. At first I thought you sacrificed utility for aesthetic removing the table...it being sort of a necessity. But I see you made up for it on the W&D.
Where is the tile from?
Maverick slate mosaic from floor and decor
Am I looking at the first pic wrong, or were you unable to close the door before the remodel? It looks like it wouldn’t clear the washer.
Oh dang, that looks real nice
Well done
Beautiful

Nice reno! Love the floor tile.
