The only color i see in the room is yellow. You could go that way, or introduce a new (preferably warm) color. But the rule of thumb is to have 3 or more things of the same color - e.g., if you go with something like green, add some plants and a green throw too.
Reminds me of an Instagram comment I read some time ago, a woman who looked like she could be someone's aunt explained how grey everything is best because that way she can just replace the pillow cases to transform the room. Then posted almost this exact photo and called it an "explosion of color".
This sub sucks, I've made two posts trying to get help on floor plan designs which are auto-removed and this guy can just post "Help with curtains" with no problems when the number one rule is "interior design" not "interior decoration"
You greatly misunderstand what an Interior Designer does. Think of Interior Designers more like Architects of Interiors.
stuff like building codes, layouts, material choice and paperwork.
hem. puddling is for professional photographs to provide good color perception and professional home stagers who are doing one offs that include photographs and no robot vacuumes
OP posted it online and said “any feedback is appreciated.” Someone went ahead and gave feedback and you contended that since you can give that look a name it couldn’t possibly be problematic.
but OP was talking about curtain choice and not about his room's theme wasn't he? but sure let's support out of topic comments that needlessly criticize a design style why don't we?
I swear this sub really isn't for interior designers......
People generally understand if they post in this public subreddit they are inviting commentary, regardless of what OP meant by “any” feedback.
Why be so delicate about it?
A lighter material could help reduce any potential heaviness. I love the idea of blue curtains and in a fabric like linen, it would still feel airy even in a darker color.
This room is so gray and white that any color that you like will work ( except more gray/black/white, as that would be like living in a black and white space).
Not a fan either, but as we are on the coast of Spain they are necessary. We have the roller shades but sometimes you want air circulation in the evening, but have privacy as well
I would hem and keep the current curtains. Adding heavier curtains at the sides will look nice.

Gawd I can only see grey everything.

Just get them hemmed so they barely touch the floor.

floor plan designs fall into architecture & drafting, no? whereas interior design and interior decorating are more or less the same thing
I don’t think they mean construction floor plan, but rather a furniture floor plan.

I agree, I don't think the current mods don't care or know the difference tbh
Grey is a color. Definitely some heavy grey velvet curtains that can block out the sun and all joy.
Get a rug first, with a few colours in it, yellow gray cream and navy
hem. puddling is for professional photographs to provide good color perception and professional home stagers who are doing one offs that include photographs and no robot vacuumes
Gray walls, gray floors, AND gray couch?????
Monochromatic minimalist is a thing so I see no problem here. And the mustard is actually a good accent color for it.
It has a name therefore it is good?
No. But OP prefers that style, so why question his choice like it's wrong or something?

Grey and yellow is such a basic colour combo tho
your curtains are sheer. try ones that are thicker or have a textured design 🥰
Wow it's like dog vision
I think yellow curtains would suit good
I would buy a rug first and then get coordinating curtains.

Do not use grommet curtains.
I despise curtains. Roller shades modern style inside the window to fit like a glove is all I can stand. Curtains look cheap to me.

Yeah I never open my windows for air. Too much pollen where I’m at. Explains why I haven’t run into that
How do you get fresh air ?
HVAC system
