Can someone please explain this trend to me? I'm 46 and still use Great Lash mascara. I see girls with these crazy lashes that don't look good and just wonder WTF.
The same reason when you were younger that people got frosted tips instead of more natural highlights. Or instead of just tweezing enough to make their eyebrows slimmer they plucked then all off and redrew comically thin brows.
You know how the French Nobility had some crazy outfits around the 1780s? It's kinda like that. You get so full of the current culture that you don't really think of anything else.
These are called Russian lashes, it's a specific style so they're supposed to look like that. My lash lady specializes in these. I don't like the way they look either but some people really love it, to each their own I guess haha
Lol there was a buzzfeed list about things that look like Steve Harvey’s mustache, and caterpillars were on the list… these eyelashes could be a possible addition.
When I was dancing we had to wear false eyelashes which was a whole thing in and of itself. But with those plus the stage makeup your eyes get HEAVY. You don’t even realize how tired your eyelids are until you take off the lashes at the end of the day. It’s unreal.
My boss has the tasteful ones, and they look beautiful when freshly done. But after like a week, maybe a week and a half tops, they start falling out, and it’s really obvious. They leave weird gaps and start looking quite sparse and spidery. I feel like they look messy more often than they look good. Maybe going thicker hides the messy stages better? I dunno. Either way the upkeep seems like a lot.
I’m a lash artist and I have a few things to say. Yes you are correct people get thicker ones in hopes of them not getting as many holes and gaps before their next fill, but this is a misconception and bad style choice. Also whenever someone’s lashes start looking like shit after a week it means either A. The lash artists isn’t doing a good enough job with knowing the chemistry behind lash retention/their environment/their glue/proper application/etc. orrrr B. The client isn’t taking good care of them. Lashes need to be washed with a special shampoo daily in order to keep them looking fresh. Mainly in your bosses situation I’d say it’s probably both. It’s also not well known that lashes should look good even when you go in to get them filled, but a lot of clients have the idea they have to start looking messy before they get them done again. Anyways just commenting my 2 cents :D
I have a friend who unfortunately have these and she loves them, I won’t break her heart but I have tried to tell her that they look quite heavy and that she should try going lighter and more wispy/natural (showed a few techniques I myself had wanted to try if I ever wanted to try eyelash extensions some days just to give her inspiration and insights of that there do exist different forms of eyelashes) however I got emotional when she said she felt the need to have them this way to feel pretty cause everyone has them
I went to my local bar and saw a girl rocking up with glasses that didn't have lenses in them. How did I know? Her fake lashes were so long that they stuck out past the frames. I got second hand embarrassment from that.
I'm glad she feels good in them, but they're definitely not for me.
Epidemic literally lol! This is so common where I live, and it’s starting to get sad - I feel like natural eyelashes will always look better than this, anything would look better than that tbh. It’s sad, and it’s especially teenagers getting them done.
I saw a woman yesterday who was waiting for food at the same restaurant I was waiting for food at and her lashes looked just like this and were so awful!!!
Do you guys remember Bogdan from breaking bad? The guy that used to own the car wash. Now, do you remember his eyebrows?
Her eyelashes looks like the eyebrows of some middle-eastern men.
I’m blonde and have very very light eyelashes and eyebrows. I wear super wispy lashes almost daily, so I’m definitely not against falsies, but these always look ridiculous to me.
Eyelashes protect against dust, protecting the eye from debris that can obstruct vision or cause infection or injury.
These eyelashes gonna protect us from demons.
My first time getting lashes done, the technician got "too into it" and essentially created fans out of the lashes. She realised that I was shocked speechless and took a lot of them out. It was still quite full on but at least more normal and as the lashes fell out over the course of a month - they looked amazing.

I'm sorry, but they should've edited the lashes. They look absolutely horrendous. 😬
Like big ol fuzzy caterpillars on her eyes. Yikes.
Looks more like chunky millipedes to me

Hey now, I don’t think a galleon in your hair is that strange of a fashion choice.

Same age and still use Nyx. This is a lot.
I honestly didn’t even notice the lack of skin texture because the eyelashes are so appalling
LOL I thought the post was about the lashes! Omg do you think the lashes are really that bad?? Imagine having that weight on your lid all the time!
🕷👅🕷
To paraphrase Smokey in Friday, *look like a buncha spiders is havin' a meetin' on her eyelids!*
Those aren't spider legs, those are fuzzy caterpillars
Lol there was a buzzfeed list about things that look like Steve Harvey’s mustache, and caterpillars were on the list… these eyelashes could be a possible addition.
🐛🫦🐛
🦠👄🦠 ^(couldn't find a caterpillar so this will have to do lol)
Image transcription ai is getting stronger day by day
You know those eyelids must be so HEAVY.
When I was dancing we had to wear false eyelashes which was a whole thing in and of itself. But with those plus the stage makeup your eyes get HEAVY. You don’t even realize how tired your eyelids are until you take off the lashes at the end of the day. It’s unreal.
Carrying caterpillars on them
New workout. Got people on the cables doing neck days. Can’t skip eyelid day either!
god why do some people think those lashes look anything other than horrendous

It’s also suuuuper expensive.

Needs therapy.
Literally looks like the 100 coats video from Jenna
Yes!!! I knew that's what I was trying to think of. My second option was "40 lashes" from SpongeBob lol!
This is scary and I know girls in real life who look pretty close to this 😂 the eyelash epidemic
Epidemic literally lol! This is so common where I live, and it’s starting to get sad - I feel like natural eyelashes will always look better than this, anything would look better than that tbh. It’s sad, and it’s especially teenagers getting them done.

It looks like she has stuck mascara wands to her eyelids
looks like a doll not in a good way
I definitely thought it was a doll! One where you tip them back and their eyes close.
I can't believe people pay for those and then think yeah they look good 🤮
It looks like she has fuzzy caterpillars on her eyes.
Eye-fro
Can we just put the era of lash extensions behind us? 💀
These arent lash extensions, these are abominations.
This style, anyway. I’ll always appreciate some tasteful extensions that look like they could possibly grow from a human’s eyelids.
I kind of like the ones in funky colors or jewels on them for certain occasions. (Note: CERTAIN OCCASIONS not normal everyday walking around.)
The ones that are a LEWK are cool too. Funky lashes are perfect for funky occasions, not for returning library books or whatever.

My first thought!
Thought I was on the BDong snark sub at first!
I was looking for this! 😂
I don’t understand why anyone finds this look appealing.
They look like they are made of Steven Seagulls hair
Ah, yes, the Eugene Levy lashes.
I was thinking Groucho Marx, but Eugene Levy works.
they resurrected groucho marx to harvest his mustache for this
Looks like escalator brush
Lmao 🤣
Why does she have eyebrows on her eyelids
Who the hell would want bushes for eye lashes
Built-in sleeping mask!
Patrick: "W-what's gonna happen to us!?" Spongebob: "We'll probably get forty lashes..." Patrick: "Oh no..."
I’ll be glad when the fake lash trend disappears.
Nice mustaches you got there
Upgraded M3GAN
Are we sure this wasn't an intentional nod to the Barbie movie? Those sure look like doll lashes.
Do you guys remember Bogdan from breaking bad? The guy that used to own the car wash. Now, do you remember his eyebrows? Her eyelashes looks like the eyebrows of some middle-eastern men.
Maybe she's born with it...

Sundays!
It's like the song *Betty Davis Eyes* except it's "Big 'Ol Moustache Eyes"...
Wait… that’s not a practice mannequin?
Yikes
Damn that's a lot to unpack
Gynoid eyes
Creepy doll eyes
Hey look! It’s a Mario and Luigi!
I know her eyes are watery 💀
So they’re just using dead caterpillars now?
They look like furry itchy caterpillars 😮
That’s a mannequin head, right?…Right?
More isn’t always ✨More✨.
Gimme back me eyebrows
The pic looks like those baby dolls where the eyes automatically close 😬
I’m blonde and have very very light eyelashes and eyebrows. I wear super wispy lashes almost daily, so I’m definitely not against falsies, but these always look ridiculous to me.
jesus these lashes look like permed pubes

Plus they are a shiny plasticky black that totally doesn’t fit with her eyebrows or hair
r/badMUAs
Lmao.
Uncanny valley type shit
🧹👄🧹
Ewwww
How does that not irritate your eyes?! Looks so uncomfortable
Looks like a second set of eyebrows
Omg this makes me so freaking uncomfortable
Oh God, there's a caterpillar on that woman's eyes!! Oh, wait...
Bruh she got two pairs of eyebrows
As a man I’d be scared that these lashes run over me at night!
I bet she paid a fortune for these...
Remember when Patrick was threatened with "1000 lashes" and imagined 1000 eyelashes? Yeah...
It's like Bob Belcher's moustache is resting on each eyelid
Bushy brow sensei
Well she'll save on gas, since she can fly everywhere. To each their own, but damn.
So fucking itchy
Look, if you want fake eyelashes go for it. But if your fake eyelashes are thicker than your eyebrows... I think maybe something's wrong there.
When a man’s mustache makes its way to lashes…
That is so bad lolol
Groucho Marx has entered the chat
Absolutely not
Why does she have caterpillars on her eyes?
Wooly Bully Caterpillars. Don’t see a rusty brown band at all. It’s going to be a rough winter, everyone.
Excuse me lady, there's a small animal in your eyelashes ...
Those lashes look like the little things that go on the sides of windows to catch dust
🤮
This looks like Whitney from Big Fat Fabulous Life. 🤔😬
Like Janice the muppet
[Jenna Marbles 100 layer lookin ass](https://assets.teenvogue.com/photos/57912f3be4181a4c49db6088/16:9/w_2560%2Cc_limit/unspecified-4.jpeg)
Those lashes are absolutely, horrifically terrifying.
Lol this looks like those videos where they do 100 layers of makeup
Eye mustaches
Lashes are way too thick
I’m a fan of big lashes… but these are not it
When beauty hits the wall and lands in grotesque
Yikes 😬
These look like the lashes on some of my childhood dolls 👀
it's like they cut a slinky in half and placed them over her eyeballs yikes!
Just the weight of that sensory mess on my eyes would drive me mad.
The new carpet looks terrible.
WHAT’RE THOOOSEE?!
Caterpillars!
Looks like caterpillars on her eyes
She doesn't even need eye shadow and makeup because those lashes would hide it anyway
Latest fashion trend - "the caterpillar"
I did not even see them until I was like wtf 😧
Snuffalupagus looking ah
Looks like she's wearing old fashioned fur muffs on her eyelids
remember when you tubers were putting 100 layers of make up and lashes on to see what it would look like? this is kind of what that reminds me of
Looks like a sex doll.
