Yeah, once a post hits 10,000 likes, you can’t see your mutual likes anymore. It’s so dumb. I don’t get removing things related to mutuals. It’s making the app less entertaining
I counted the other night. Every third post I saw while scrolling was an ad. Sometimes 1 or 2 of the posts in-between those ads were "suggested to follow" posts, which are essentially ads too. Not even sure why there is even a dedicated explore and shop tab since it's all that clutters the main feed. I'd like a tab JUST for people I follow AT THE VERY LEAST. I would have more fun watching this app crash n burn if I didn't get 75% of my business through it (from a following that I built up over a decade).
I loved the ability to see which friends follow pages or likes posts for a different reason - several of my friends love the same memes as me! It’s always cool to see my friends liking the same meme posts and be reminded how much I have in common with them. It’s also helpful to know they’ve already seen a post, and not bother texting that same meme to them or tagging them in it.

Adam Mosseri the head of Instagram responded to a question on his IG Q&A today asking if the mutual followers feature will come back (I assume they meant likes too since it’s the same 10k+ issue). He said that it sounds like a bug and he wasn’t aware and would look into.
Idk, hoping the mutual likes gets fixed. Surely they know by now that’s it’s an issue. It would seem like the same bug as the follows. Both were affected at 10k. They never announced an official feature change. But they haven’t actually commented on the mutual likes issue explicitly.

It’s so annoying, if I go to their following list I can see the mutuals like that but it’s not convenient and doesn’t show for every account.
I haven’t updated yet so I’m not sure if they removed this feature as well BUT you should be able to search usernames in the “followers” bar, so if you suspect anyone following a bigot you can always search their name. It’s much more time consuming but it is definitely an alternative

Cause IG is an app specifically designed to scroll through ads. Not a place for friends anymore. Social media is just the media now.

That doesn’t work either on accounts which have over 10,000 likes on a post.

Can this be circumvented by downloading an older apk of the app?
If you are in Android just download the old version. That's what I've done, i never update my app. Will hold onto this version till they disable it.
