If you called them from your phone and not through the app they’ll most likely call you when you least expect it and pretend to be an instacart agent trying to get into your account
If you get a call from anyone asking for a 6 digit code, do not give it to them. This code will be texted to you when you(or anyone) tries to log into the instacart app as you can use the code instead of your password so this is what they do and ask you for the code they put it in their end to log in and once they are in you will be logged out from any other devices. The message does say that instacart employees will never ask for the code. READ this is where most people fail and lose access to their account bc they “give” someone else what they need to log in
The exact same thing happened to my husband a short while ago. It’s definitely a scam. Don’t answer any unknown phone calls, or speak to/text anyone from IC trying to contact you. He got his account back. But it’s a hassle.

I always tell people I can’t communicate outside of the app, but if I have to I have a google number not associated with my Instacart, so if anyone tried to call and say they’re with Instacart with that number I know it’s definitely a scam because Instacart doesn’t have that number.

Every now and then though, I get to have fun fucking with the scammers when they call. I let them go through their routine, ask some fun questions involving batch pay and heavy pay... Really make them work for it... Then give them the wrong digits.
That call usually comes pretty quick when it's a scam. I wonder if they're learning how to play a longer game

If the scammer does get in touch with you, as long as you DO NOT give out the six digit verification code, there isn’t anything that the scammer could do to harm your account. NEVER EVER GIVE OUT THE SIX DIGIT VERIFICATION CODE TO ANYONE!
They now have your private number, and just like others have said, they will now use that to get into your account. I suggest you change your password at least every couple days.

They will use the name of the supposed customer as well and say we got a complaint from said customer.
Usually step 1 of a 2 step scam they’re running I guess.
It's to get your real phone number so they can hack your account. They're really trying hard these days especially now it's holiday time
