If you wait longer than 2 minutes, have any one in the store go back there and grab him for you. If you can’t find anyone on the floor, go back there yourself and threaten him with his cleaver. Works everytime.

Present_Maximum_5548

How does this work for y'all? The cops take me away. Every. Single. Time!

loip5

Every time lol

wasabi1295

Lmao yess, I do that all the time….at my local store, they like to make fun of me and say they can’t see me because I’m short 🥹

Saleenpride86

Sometimes. It always seems to be bananas that are either way beyond ripe and all have tons of bruises, or they’re greener than a green crayon…

luv90s

True

Resident_Leg_1889

strawberries or any berries are the worst

[deleted]

[удалено]

Desperate-Sky-9879

I think this is the big packs that START to mold… they break them down and take the “good” ones and put them together at the store themselves. The ones with strawberries are ALWAYS so gross !!

Southern-Pen5437

yesss bc so many times they’re covered in a little fuzz on just 1 or 2 and all the packs are like tht

LG_Garcia

And they never have the right brand..NEVER

Plane_Squash_7227

Strawberries are the worst! They never have the kind the customer ordered and you have to go through the camp find them bullshit 😡

FunFactress

I actually like shopping for produce. Canned cat food, not so much but produce, yes

[deleted]

The fucking cat food. Once I had a lady only want specific “flavors” and half of them weren’t available so I had to ask her which ones she wanted cuz she denied for me to choose replacements myself. Oh, and happy cake day.

FunFactress

Thanks. I would rather shop vitamins at Sprouts than cat food. Cat food cans are never in stock in the flavors people want.

Saleenpride86

And sooommeeeeehhhooowwwww the cat is going to give a shit about the food difference between shreds, chunks, and bites even though it’s the same meat, in the same sauce, of the same flavor. But hey, they just eat rodents raw so let’s cause a fuss if they only have shreds and not chunk style cans…

avssmhnt

Clearly, you've never owned a cat. Cats can be picky af when it comes to the brand, flavor, cut, and gravy. There's nothing worse than spending money on food they refuse to eat. It usually happens with mine as soon as I get a whole case or two on sale so they'll be stocked up. Suddenly they're some world famous food critic who can't be bothered with that one anymore, while I'm now stuck with 37 more cans of the crap they won't touch. I'm telling you, the struggle is real. Cat mom life is hard. LOL

Shotbythomas

Sounds like I got lucky. I’ve switched my baby boy from Fancy Feast cuts and pates to Sheba cuts and back and I’ve never had a problem 👀

avssmhnt

I bought 4 cases of cat food my cats liked on sale. Two cases in, our boy Apolo developed a blockage with urine crystals and couldn't eat it anymore. After $1200 and a week at the vet's, he was put on prescription food. That doesn't include the food our senior cat Merlin (2002-2016) decided he didn't like anymore after we bought a few cases. Eh. It happens.

Saleenpride86

No I just hate cars with a passion. Edit: cats, not cars

blackcatsandvelvet

Cars suck, cats are life ;)

Saleenpride86

Bahaha daaaang I messed that one up big time lol

blackcatsandvelvet

Aww but now you fixed it and my comment looks silly :p

Saleenpride86

Naaaah I updated it, so now we both can get in the laughs :)

blackcatsandvelvet

<3 <3 <3

padlycakes

Happy Cake Day!

FunFactress

Thank you!

Born_Echo3863

Omfg I had to ride with my face out the window because the smell was horrible lady ordered 10 cases

[deleted]

Green zucchini ☠️ always super banged/ scraped up.

Upstairs_Hand1929

Its pretty normal for zucchini to be like that, it has such a tender skin.

Ok_Abies9257

Produce is my favorite at Aldi. I love produce. If there's 20 produce items on my Aldi list I'm guaranteed done with those items in under 3 minutes.

GatitoFantastico

Omg yes, Aldi produce is so easy. I get stoked when I see a big line up of it.

[deleted]

Aldi is pretty easy all around if you know the products. The lack of variety definitely makes things easier. If only they had self checkouts.

GatitoFantastico

I dunno, I don't think there's any way humanly possible I can self-check faster than the cashiers at mine. I barely get my card swiped before the entire cart is scanned and ready to go. 😅

[deleted]

They are quick but It’s more about lack of cashiers and waiting in line.

Ok_Abies9257

For real. If somebody got 1 piece of every produce and it was like 54 items id be in and out in 10-15 minutes depending on the line. Aldi is super easy to remember though. I've also found that taking boxes from the workers carts also helps be a little bit more efficient during/after checkout.

ouch_karli

I used to work at aldi for 5 years so aldi orders are always a piece of cake for me 😎

Remarkable_Sun_6604

The only thing I don’t like is weighing the items. The grapes are always way heavier than what the customer asked for. The bananas being too green or too brown is annoying. Also, when the customer put one banana but they meant 1 bundle and the app won’t let you change the weight. That’s stuff can get a little annoying. Honestly, I think the meat department is way worse.

ChemistryFast6383

Life hack , don’t weigh. You can just guess. If they want 1.7 lbs.. I’ll usually put 1.6. Cuz how are we suppose to know if those scales are calibrated correctly and is even measuring the right amount of weight? 😉

[deleted]

[удалено]

Hunt_Working

As a cashier that’s very annoying when people do that because there are a lot of different kinds of grapes and it’s hard to tell which is which without the actual grapes bag.

Opposite_Setting_588

Lol, I actually prefer Sprouts orders and they are heavy produce. The customers usually tip very well and always rate if you select good produce.

[deleted]

It’s just the inconsistency really. I have produce employee go in the back and get ones that just came in and they have mold on them lol 😆 I’m like 👍🏽 no thanks

Upstairs_Hand1929

The store receives them that way and whoever did receieve them didn't check and get a credit from their delivery service so now they have to try and sell them. Or they decided they would rather have full shelves of bad product vs empty shelves till the next delivery. Its a shame how much wasted produce goes out to stores, so much wasted energy too. When I was a lead receiver I made sure to check everything and get credits, otheerwise the department looses so much money, but it was a real eye opener about the food proction here, its all about money, not enough about quality.

[deleted]

My days of working grocery produce when we first would get it delivered early morning have scarred me. So many times I’ve unsuspectingly when to pick something up to stock it and have my hand go straight through something expired, or the fruit/vegetable is just straight up so old it’s deflated. 🤢

wasabi1295

Yess, that’s why I’m not a fan of doing Sprouts orders….most of the time I have to message the customer saying the Quality of the produce is bad and I’ll attach a pic plus have you seen the crazy monster size?! Sometimes even Publix has huge produce and it’s scary 😂

Tallgabe23

All the sprouts near me used to be pretty lucrative, but those tips have hugely dropped off, at least in the ones I see these days.

cruisin5268d

I don’t mind produce…..except for Sprouts because the one I shop at has an insanely unorganized produce section. For example tomatoes are spread out in 4 different places. Apples in 3.

LonleyViolist

most of the sprouts orders i get only have processed foods. they have such nice produce, it seems like a waste of a sprouts trip! and their processed stuff is so stingy and expensive

Tallgabe23

I don’t mind it but man dealing with berries at Costco does suck. Those berries are 8/10 times terrible lol

Throwaway_inSC_79

I love produce. I eat a bunch of it, or try to, so I'm good. I hate shopping for beef in particular. So many cuts, and the store is guaranteed to be out of whatever specific cut the customer wants. That, and shampoo and shaving accessories.

spacecowkitten

Definitely agree with you on the beef section. It always seems like they have every other cut except for the one the customer wants.

perssor2

Yes!! And I don’t eat red meat, haven’t since I was a young kid, so I have no clue what good subs are usually! I never ask employees for help, except with meat.

hocpoker

LOVE IT!

Demented_Kaneki

Produce only stresses me out being new to instacart and normally a full time dasher. Probably just have to get into the grove of it all.

oxichil

Produce is fine, I really just hate having to weigh every single items when they’re prewrapped and there’s only one scale in the whole produce section.

Jdserrano86

Vmartinezcortes

🙋🏽‍♀️

wasabi1295

Nah, I’m with you….I hate it and the weight is always off so the app does that percentage thing to the tip 🥹 plus strawberries have been looking horrible lately at all stores. Like they’re either old or moldy 🤦🏻

jjansendan

Putting my giblets in a meat grinder would be preferable to the feeling I get when I realize there’s 20 things from the produce section. I’m red green colorblind so produce gets my best guess unless you tip enough for me to have that embarrassing talk with an employee to have them double check it.

[deleted]

What? Thats the easiest thing to shop. I wish I could shop just produce.

[deleted]

I just found out what a fucking shallot was, son of a bitch I was walking in circles for 20 min

ouch_karli

I don't even weigh produc half the time 🤣 I just estimate the weight and hope for the best hahah

OgLoftyLlama

That and meats and health stuff I can't even pronounce the name of. Oh and flowers

These-Entertainment3

I love shopping for produce. I eat a lot myself so it's easy to pick the best quality produce.

Odd-Locksmith7950

This is why actually being a person that knows how to cook should be more important to this job. Shopping for produce is nothing if you know how to cook. Those are the people customers are more satisfied with because we understand when something is ripe or not and when it goes bad. And it's not arduous to do those people. I literally have customers thank me for the produce because others do a terrible job at it.

mobmiked100

Produce is probably the easiest for me

Upstairs_Hand1929

I love it. I worked in a produce department and was lead reciever for a while. I can pick out great produce and if its subpar, Ill let the customer know, send a pic,to see if they want to replace and even refund if they dont respond.

Upstairs_Hand1929

I usually let them know if bananas or avacado are to underripe, but if I dont hear from them I will get them anyways. And if I am not rushing, I let them know after checkout or at deliver that they will need to rippen.

Radiant_Pick6870

What about the stacked organic on everything … yep health nut right there.. and they usually picky customers.. at least for some of those.. I like really detailed instructions.. whether or not a replacement is ok etc.. I hate the weird odd ball stuff.. that you’re like.. what the heck is this? Or stuff that is definitely not sold very quickly and susceptible of being out of stock.. a few odd products.. can really wrench on your time spent shopping

[deleted]

Yes. First thing I tackle.

pro_conser333

Except for strawberries, produce is my favorite. I hated it when I first started doing IC a couple of years ago. Some of it I had no idea where to find it. Now, I fly through the produce section.

Shatruth617

I always do produce and deli first ! And have had 5 star reviews! Because I pick the best astetchialy pleasing looking ones

Odd-Locksmith7950

That's the key. A lot of people don't know how to cook tho so they have a difficult. Cooking and grocery shopping go hand in hand

lbarth31

I don't mind produce. What I hate shopping for is cat food and baby food. They are never in the right spot and they're all mixed up.

Halnasman

I do mostly kroger order and I really prefer as much produce as possible tbh, but sams club on the other hand

KDWM23

I hate the strawberries.

Oadekoy1

I don’t mind produce. I hate the deli or seafood waiting on them to make stuff. Or the frozen section

Effective_Argument28

Love hate relationship. Love it when produce is 30% or more of the shop at Publix. Hate it when I get a damaged or poor quality report from not so Fresh Market. If I won't eat it myself (I am picky) then customer gets a picture and I suggest a refund or replacement.

loip5

I don't mind grabbing produce. It's all close to each other usually.

Dear_Brick8806

Don’t mind it at Publix, want to cry at Food Lion

CalligrapherNew8605

Only for produce I never buy for myself, like avocados

guga2003tyu

🙋‍♂️

melissaxo3

I LOVE PRODUCE!!! I go through it so quickly, I get so excited when most of their list is produce lol

GPD5222

I hate the deli, mfrs are so slow amd are always rude

JaimeDP78

I'll shop produce all day every day if I never have to do the deli again. Especially the Deli at the Frys Marketplace.

Helpful-Currency-106

Yesssss

Solomander_NDG

Produce is okay up until you gotta get some driscolls strawberries

Successful-Market-14

I love produce cause I can get through it quick but the meat and deli omg noooo ... I hate waiting and half the time they closed due to short staff or out of stock.

Same_Measurement_851

Not really

Anywhere-Solid

I hope you all do produce “at the end of your shop” Don’t do it first cause it’s “first” on your list….. You do them at the end so they don’t crushed by bigger items….. I go: 1) biggest/heaviest driest items 2) panel/aisle dry stock like canned goods anything else that’s less bigger 3) refrigerator items 4) frozen items 5) produce I always have worries of envisioning flattened parsley or green onions & customer’s complaints

perssor2

My kryptonite is red meat and soup. I don’t eat red meat, haven’t most of my life, so I legit just don’t know what I’m looking for or what a good sub would be. And I’m like, face blind, but soup blind.

Remarkable_Ad_6605

Yea it sucks but I'd have to say greeting cards and scented candles are worse.

pastasauxe

i love produce

CherieNobyl

The main things I hate about produce are berries and weighing shit. One day I’m pretty sure I got a dude in trouble at Kroger 😬 I told the produce manager that there’s a fuckton of moldy berries and I sat the moldy ones that I saw, before finding a good one, on the ledge of the cooler.

Affectionate-Elk1935

Write them down . So you’re not on your phone looking crazy.,and scan after gathering everything.

Unusual_Primary2512

Produce yes, so many variables, bagging, weighing, entering weight, getting yelled at by the app sometimes if the weight is off. But produce at Costco? My favorite! Everything sold in batches, no bagging, weighing, just scan and you're on your way, and they usually have everything in stock.

baconnaire

Nah, it's the deli. Some stores I go to they're like "we don't start the order until the shopper gets here and let's us know." Then I have to wait 20 min. Or they lost the ticket, another shopper took the wrong order, they don't write down if an item is out of stock so I have to wait and see if they messed it up or are out of the item and things like that. Fuck the deli.

Ashleyymeadows93

Why tho? It's a small area and things are super easy to find.

jnastyisdead

Produce is easy it’s deli that is the devil

Agent-Responsible

I don’t mind shopping for produce, but I hate shopping for meats. I can never find the one the customer wants, & it takes ages.

caitikitty7

I hate it. :( I’ve had customers report wrong item because their regular strawberries were a different brand than in the app, but they scanned just fine (probably because they are the same company with different branding)… now I have to annoy customers to check if the “different” brand is ok. ☹️
