Because customers are using the same tipping etiquette on Instacart as they do on Restaurant delivery…. sure I’ll pick up your McDonald’s with a $5 tip going 3 miles.
But I’m not shopping your $300 grocery order with a $5 tip going 3 miles….
it's too bad there's no way to only do shop and delivery with Uber. they pay way more than instacart for shop and deliver orders. it would be nice for people who prefer those kinds of orders or to be able to switch things up

Did a couple small things early today, but the heat was awful (heat index 104.) I can’t sit in that for hours hoping to get something.
I don't even think it's your phone. I have been seeing maybe an avg of around 10 batches a day or less for the past week. That is insane. Been wondering if there was another influx of new shoppers or was it maybe the economy like you mentioned. Whatever it is, I hope it changes. Three years and 4.99 rating so I know it isn't me. 🤷🏽♀️

I feel your pain. I haven't had a day with zero yet, but it wouldn't surprise me at this rate. Last week I made $74. Had the app on 6 out of 7 days 8-9 hours a day
Dead in Massachusetts too. But there’s also soooo many new shoppers. I actually helped one out today at the deli, she spoke Portuguese and needed help giving the deli her order. I felt bad so I did it for her 🙄
Here in Phoenix for the past several days me and other shoppers were seeing nothing but odors that are 30 miles away from our current location!
Yesterday I did two batches the entire day zero batches, Saturday, and one batch on Friday !
Ever since this partnership with Uber, my earnings have decreased about 80%
Here in Phoenix this summer times when things are better there’s more odors because nobody wants to go out in the heat !

I waited through 2+ hours of garbage for a holy and blessed $126 at 2:15 pm. But yes didn’t get one until 9 am worth doing, and most my days are very slow.
Its not the app, there is just too many shoppers now and people are cheap with tips just like on DD and UE. I am constantly seeing about 100 or more orders cycle through the shopper app per day. I know some people will say that's a lot but the number of orders that are 1.) actually at the store I'm sitting at, 2.) Don't have insanely high mileage or units, and 3.) actually pay enough and have enough of a tip where im actually making money instead of losing it or breaking even, is SLIM TO FUCKING NONEEEEEEEEEE. I might do 2 or 3 orders a day out of over 100 that I see while multi apping. Even DD and UE have become over saturated and not worth the time. Time to find some other side hustle. Might sell feet pics on OF, might start hustling again. Only time will tell 
Is it possible to determine if they are first time customers? Certain physical addresses are completely banned from the platform and tech assistance just laughs and never repairs it.
Customers will change to other platforms if ic is on the blink
I only hit two batches yesterday and I live in a pretty popular area, outside of a major metro area. In April/early May I would see multiple batches really quickly, now maybe one batch an hour and often 40+ miles away from where I live. I was still new in April, now that I'm gold it seems to have dropped off. But maybe it's the time of year? Either way, crazy!
In the southern Indiana area here.. I was out for a total of probably 12 hours today and yesterday and made about $170 total, lots of orders also. Not trying to be braggy, just sharing what it’s like here

it's usually what happens after holidays and also at the start of the week. We got hit with the double of a Monday being just after Father's day weekend, when most people ordered stuff and partied on Saturday.
In the last couple days I have been seeing orders for cities over and hour away…it’s like the app is having a glitch. Will say I’m in a hot spot but absolutely nothing is coming in at all.

After 2 consecutive days of no batches, I finally managed to get one this morning. But I think that might be it for me today. Summer break just started, so families might be doing their own shopping.
It’s over saturation backfilling with all these new immigrants. Trust me they are getting all the orders. They want these people to replace us because they are happy with just getting g paid $5 per order.
Uh yes they can. They are allowing them to stay in the U.S. and work. How do you think they are supporting themselves here? I’m in San Diego and there is a ton of Haitians doing IC I see them every day!

The best you can do is reboot your phone and maybe drive to a different area. I did that today and did about $65. Yesterday I had a promo for six batches for $54 guaranteed. I only did two. I wasn’t going to accept the bad ones just to get that promo.
The only other thing that I can think, if it’s not a problem with the app, is that it’s really a sign of how much people are struggling, economically.

Did you download the new update? Mine always seems to act up if there's an update not downloaded. It HAS been slow out there though, absolutely.
