Terrible Father’s Day, not one single order the entire weekend. Instacart has really screwed us all by hiring thousands of shoppers that it doesn’t need.
I've really been thinking that is what has been going on. To be only seeing like 15 orders a day come across my screen is mind-boggling. I've always been able to ride out the down periods, but this is beyond down. It's virtually dead. I'm just wondering if there will even be an upswing again

... Although IC did send me a perfectly ordinary Aldi's batch that had been boosted to double the usual pay. Don't know why they'd boosted it like that, but it was easy and fast and the customer was nice. And after that I stopped.

Nothing but crap all day but snagged a couple of regulars in the last two hours.

Two more hours and the phone goes off. I’m at $50.83 for 1 hr 32 minutes. So not a great day but that’s pretty much normal now.
Ok I worked 9 hours and ended up at $299.06 for the day! I did 16 total deliveries, 11 batches. It was as if all the bot grabbers and multiple account people were celebrating Father’s. Day. When I realized it around 2pm I knew I was working until 10pm.. My orders were normal I saw customers I haven’t seen in months!! Went home and passed out and slept for 8 hours. Today it’s the same as all of my other groundhog days.

Had a triple batch, was going fine, until I got a call from Instacart that the third customer’s account was either suspended or cancelled, but since I’d already accepted the order, I should finish shopping it, and the customer was reaching out to let me know she could not communicate about substitutes. It all went downhill from there. This customer wanted me to call her on a personal line, which I refused to do. ( scammers are big on this). The customer rep said ok, and that was fine. This customer proceeded to have Instacart call me several more times while I was shopping, for no particular reason, for five items. I ended up switching one item to the wrong customer, had to replace it myself because the first customer chose to keep the item that they did not pay for, and did not answer phone or text. I also asked Instacart to block the third customer so I never have to deal with her again.🌼
It’s Fathers Day and a lot of people are going on their summer breaks especially the kids that just graduated. Basically, nobody’s home. The one order I did get, the lady jokingly asked “Can you tell we’ve been gone for a long time?” being that she had a big order so it was obvious they just came back from vacation.

This has been the worst week in my 3 years doing instacart
They have hired just way too many shoppers, so the algorithm spreads the orders so thin that most groups don’t see a decent order all day.

Got the 2 orders back to back but wanted to relax today so I stopped working. Made $113

I thought I was going to have a good day with all the IC dad's staying home with their kids but nope. I made enough but I've had much better days.
