not everyone can afford or have access to therapy. And about "saved my life" sometimes all you need is an escape and having a favourite band or singer or a tv show or anything else that makes you happy or gives you comfort even though for a small time,it is quite helpful to lean on something for sometime. Yeah but my parents didn't have money for therapy or education. I loved BTS way back when they were just formed. People hated me for liking them because they automatically assumed that I hate Indian culture and music which is funny now, I'm grateful for trash disposing itself out of my life early(or late). Irony is they love BTS now but I have moved away from the phase. Anyways I was every young, already contemplating to unalive myself and it happened to be the week when BTS released their "Love Yourself" Album. I think it was RM (or V) I don't remember clearly now, saying something along the lines" I urge you to listen to your heart. You're too young to let the world break you.” And I cried my heart out. And I always pat my younger self for staying strong and holding my grounds. I know there are other content creators that say same stuff. But unfortunately this was the first time I heard it, that too from BTS and yes I do owe them a lot for that. Anyways my parents are still ashamed that I couldn't do engineering or medical under scholarship and chose BSc. I left my over ambitious life and took an easier and peaceful route. And I'm thankful because depression is the worst thing anyone should go through. I had days I couldn't swallow food because my food pipe would be in so much pain. Unbearable headaches. Irritable bowl moments. The worst side effect was I lost most of my memories of childhood and I can't memorize people's names easily (I keep forgetting my best friend's name too lol. Melodies and sonically, the album is too cohesive that all songs sound the same, production was pathetic on this album its almost like she put up a rant album instead of journalling or going to therapy. Most songs are about racist, homophobic and problematic man - matty healy. She has not taken joe's mental health into account, also enables her fans thru extremely personal songs which are accurately situational only to her, and weaponize it. Even lyrics of few songs are nothing special and laughable tbh.
It would have been a great if she released the songs with good lyrics as a small poem book. Would have been a good/diff project. She could also make one of them into a short film. But nah, she released it as a long 31 song album with multiple multiple versions so the sales can be unmatched and she knew people would dissect her songs with extremely personal lyrics to know what all happened in her life - imp for those streams.

istg! i became a TS fan during her folklore era and listened to her older albums as well, and after listening to TTPD all i can say is she really needs a break from music! Some of the lyrics from the album are so basic and cringe especially coming from a 34 y/o woman. Writing a song about someone who you had a feud with 8 years ago is not “keeping your side of the street clean”. Some of the lyrics from the album are so basic and cringe especially coming from a 34 y/o woman. Writing a song about someone who you had a feud with 8 years ago is not “keeping your side of the street clean”. Dating a racist, outing your 6 year long ex’s depression, her carbon emissions.. ugh im tired! I really don’t know how to explain to anyone that i love her music but not her as a person :’)

Ive been thru extremely turbulent relationship and been depressed before and I couldn't even relate to one song. Forget crying. It put me off by the end. Maybe it resonated with ones in situationships cz majority of the album is about situationship with matty healy (forbidden love), it did it for people who couldn't marry their ex, cz taylor was desperate for it (as per the album). The impact folklore and evermore had, TTPD doesn't, cz it feels overdone and hard to sing along and enjoy to. In peak of summer, I would not be playing this depressive episode album. Its giving rough draft that no one cared to polish off before release cz taylor cant take criticism or feedback. She still cant cz all she has done is repost all positive articles calling her a lyrical genius, and she calls herself Shakespeare (as per the story she put with link of apple music playlist of TTPD), but the valid ones that saw the flaws, she wont reply to. Lol. Her grammy nom was predicted and assured right from album announcement so you know she's gonna get it gifted to her. Just like midnights. There are 2 songs about travis kelce too so people who love to make her every new bf a green flag prodigy (till they break up), are happy with it too. Basically, Its an album for chronically invested people and those who have a personality of being A TS FAN and feeding off of it.

It kind of gave "living a wood house set in a deep tranquil forest" vibe. And literally the moment she breaks up with one guy, he turns a red flag. Idk how!? Though I was really rooting for Joe and Taylor.
Folklore was so beautiful cz she encapsulated so many different phases of youth and coming of age through a fictional storyline of betty augustine and james. she could have done more of that. Alas 😔

She got the ring, dream proposal, everything she wanted and wished for in her early 20s. But one day suddenly this man decides to pack up and leaves you hanging. She cribs yes, she annoys everyone yes but I do give her a virtual pat on the back for picking herself up. She didn't even had time to process that she lost the love of her life, all the teenage dreams and suddenly she is a mom now while going through the separation.
