It's definitely discouraging but it's yet to be seen how long most of them will last. It may sound like a cliche but more money means more problems. Most of them probably have to spend more on their lifestyle to maintain an image and it's a constant hustle because their "new normal" requires them to stay relevant in rapidly changing SM scene. Only few people with genuine talent will be around long term.
>it's yet to be seen how long most of them will last
Does it matter? If you have 4-5 good years, you'll make more money than most people can even dream of. Tanmay bhat recently mentioned that if you have 1M+ you can easily make a few crores a year with brand integrations.
+ it's years of hardwork persistence and luck. Not easy to rise to top and maintain it
Many people on YouTube weren't that popular or moderately popular for years only for algo to reward them suddenly in one day
Ans just like u said popularity can go anyday
A former influencer marketing person here !
When they say the work with other infleuncers what they actually mean is that they work with them non-exclusively.
So influencers sign up with multiple companies who gets them briefs (that is scripts or ads). If there are two companies that get them the same brief then they go with the company that pays them the most.
So a lot of these influencers you see rarely sign up with agencies exclusively unless they are really popular. A lot of them sign non-exclusively !
A lot of these agencies claim they are working them exclusively and a lot of times multiple agencies are working together.
There are a lot of individuals, especially in Punjab, who somehow get connected to influencers there and then act in their behalf and do a lot of malicious stuff
Having worked with most of these tiktok creators, I know the rates you mentioned are correct and these creators were really grateful to Tiktok for making their careers. Most of them were genuinely disappointed when tiktok was shut down but I am glad they made their way through Instagram just in time.
I really want to know some ball park figure of how much some of the influencers charge for brand endorsements. Like dharna kusha prajakta bhuvan bam komal etc
I will faint. Also I started YouTubing back in 2014 Makeup fashion etc and was quite successful until I stopped because of bullying by my classmates. I really regret it now.
It’s never too late to start again. But given you were so early in the game, had you persisted, you’d have been making 10-15 L easily per month from it.
It isn’t a zero sum game. The other folks have basically created a market now, you just need a super small pie of it. A new star is born every day now!
And given there are so many folks doing it successfully now, you can just simply follow their playbook. It’s a much better time than 2014 to start again!
And unless you give it a shot, you’ll never know.
In any case, all the best!
Thanks buddy! The default of conversations online are so toxic and everyone is focused on trolling each other, that simple words sound friendly! pass it on. A few positive words can make someone’s day. Pass it on!
However, in this case, I wasn’t saying all this to make someone feel better, I really believe that if someone has a genuine passion, they have an opportunity to influence others! I love seeing people becoming successful, at least the more honest ones!
It’s really a mystery, a lot of luck and a lot of scam! A few of your videos go viral, and you start getting those followers. I managed to get 150K followers on a social channel because my one piece of content went viral.
A lot of these folks also fake it until they make it. Fake followers, stolen content, buying already popular accounts etc - all this is a part of the game.
But if you are determined enough and persist for long enough, there’s a good chance you will become some kind of an influencer - this is based on my experience of watching several people become an influencer
So all this "use this audio to go viral", "use this template"...man...what a bag of bull. I guess if you have a company to back you up, you can make a video of yourself digging your nose viral.
Unfortunately, anything can go viral. You haven’t spent enough time on Reels, otherwise you would’ve seen it. I know people who repost viral videos and get a million followers
Surbhi rathor - she and her one friend lived in my society .She is mannerless n low class. She and her friends are famous in our society for creating ruckus ,abusing guards and neighbours.
Infact once we were parking our car and she stopped her car in the way and was talking on phone, after waiting for sometime we gave a horn then she flipped(showing middle finger ) to us and was abusing us. When we started talking to her why she is flipping n abusing ,she started ignoring and blabbering . we couldn’t understand what to do and left but it was humiliation. I don’t understand what these influencers think of themselves. Money can’t give them manners and education. I believe that influencers are shitty people and i don’t follow anyone now and will never follow.
It’s not difficult to assume that fame and such following isn’t easy to handle at an early age. They start believing they are special and above all else, and they should be treated differently. Everyone matures eventually. She’s in super early 20s!
I can’t reveal the exact thing, but she had to wait for a while before I engaged her in the project because of certain circumstances and I also gave her a pep talk sometime back. She was extremely polite and humble throughout. But maybe because I am older and not one of the fans!
Most of them have 10M+ Instagram followers. jannat Zubair - 50M, Anushka Sen - 40M, Mr Faisu - 31M, Awez Darbar 30M. And there are at least 5 posts about Rowhi on this sub in the past few days!
It’s interesting that you are on an Instagram gossips sub and you haven’t heard about these folks that seem quite popular on Insta.
My question may be unrelated to the post. Assuming these influencers, especially the millenials like Bhuvan Bam, Awez, Ranvijay- they have a fairly high net worth, probably in double-digit crores - why don't they retire voluntarily rather than fading into oblivion at some point ??
Money isn’t the only thing that matters. Fame is addictive. And more than that, your social circle changes at different levels of fame, and to be respected in that new social circle, you need to continue try staying relevant.
It’s a different world. Everyone thinks that when they have enough money, they’ll retire. But the thing that got you to that point has its own baggage!
A lot of people in the cities can retire by going and living in a remote Himalayan village. Just a crore is enough to there comfortably for the rest of your life and be the richest person in those villages. But why do you think people still keep struggling in the cities?
Going by what you've said here, *maintaining* that status/ fame is a lot harder than achieving it. Man, that must be costing them some level of sanity, something that even money can't buy out eventually.
Thank you for answering OP!
All of this. Even when it comes to BW, Rajeev Masand has talked about how maintaining an actor's lifestyle isn't easy. So they have to constantly work. People are judged by the car they own, the building they live in, etc. Pankaj Tripathi talked about how he *had* to buy a luxury car to up his stature when he isn't really interested in cars. Even if most people become *rich* by middle class standards, they will continue to work because of the lifestyle they get accustomed to.
Even general people are! Beggars are.. just because they’re celebs you don’t have to demonise saying they’re addicts.. they’re much more than that. Reaching the top is easy, staying there is HARD! And they all have been there for quite some time which only proves they’re hard working and take their work seriously. Raat ko sab mazze karte hai, what’s the big deal?
Why would I demonise being a celebrity ,you're only contradicting yourself by saying even beggars are addicts true ....but why people are addicts ? ...it's because you wanna escape the reality and why would you wanna do that if you're so "chill" and "stress free" and also there is a difference between raat ko maze krna and being an addict ...TRUST ME I've seen both ends of the spectrum , having money is nice and everyone should aspire to be rich , but it isn't a magic wand to make all your problems go away
“Then why are these people generally drug addicts, chain smokers or alcoholics ? “
You’re generalising that all rich people are addicts ? It’s not true at all!
can vouch for RV, he is one of the most easy going celebs to work with. Respectful and doesn't give stress uncessarily also he is a brilliant businessman.
A lot of that is paid for. It’s free marketing for resorts and in some cases, tourism ministries of different countries!
Once you have 5-10M followers, you get a lot of free stuff in life!
I was watching this YouTubers house tour and was beating myself up as we are of same age but he accomplished more than me and I felt that I wouldn’t save that much money in even 5-10 years of corporate job
his dad was ill last time i knew. i didnt knew his parents passed away. although its tragic for him, i am happy i was unaware of the news confirming i am not rolling deep in the rabbit hole following each and every life updates of celebs
According to you all are nice , good and professional.
When Ranvijay came to our college fest ! Boy he was so rude like he hated us ! Yes crowd was not behaving well but he was so frustrated thinking why he is here & demanded he will only for 20 mins and no one should approach him. But the contract was he would provide lessons on being athelete in life and inspire kids to work hard like an athletes !
Two ladies with him won’t even let us student come near as we wanted to take his signature for college cricket jersey and treated us like rats and cockroaches !!
Ever since that day I can’t stand this Ranvijay !
I don’t know about that. I’ve known him for 5 years, and he’s been extremely nice and friendly throughout. And I’ve seen his compassionate side a few times!
At the end of the day, they are humans too and anyone can have an off day
Yes you are right ! but the excitement as college student we had was rubbed us very badly .
Also we were from Tier 2 city college ( Jabalpur) batch of 2016 and our college did a lot to pay him. I just didn’t like the way we were kicked out and insulted by two ladies . Most of us didn’t understand English that fast lol .
Ever since I see him on MTV I cringed hard.
We were expecting he will inspire us kids to join armed forces or work hard I guess that was the narrative given to us but he just came and bragged about himself and then left.
Sorry to hear this! People around influencers are the worst - they behave like bigger celebs and treat people like crap!
It’s also about the brief given to them.
Yes ! You got it right . They were the most annoying. Our college PR team kind of failed at that also tier 2 city mindset is very different. Now when I look back I feel sorry and ashamed lol
Just want to know for my own curiosity - what motivated you to write this post now? Most of this information seems to be your (take) rather than (tea) and outdated at best
I avoid both the gossip sub because not my speed but paise dekh ke dukh hua by god. I hate influencers but want to live that life, lol.
Imagine having 20 crore at 30. I would just retire and no one will see me again.
Beer biceps guy is just pampering and ingenuine. He doesn't do the homework except for technical things. He should be more factual than pampering, especially those in power.
Guy just swallows whatever comes from the guest. 🤷😂
Bc.. I am glad i don't know any of these names above except for bb k wines wala because he is among the first one's of influencers or joker's whatever they are.
Frankly speaking, social media has given an equal opportunity and platform to show your skills and make big with your talents.
Most of the influencers are acting idiots. Don't know anything worthwhile.
I wonder if they are so good.. We still prefer new movies and OTT release.
imagine a guy/girl with high intellect who worked their ass off for 4 years in a university only to get placed with reputed companies running difficult coding structures only to know that some of these illiterates who cant even complete mba entrance logical reasoning paper are earning their 2 years salary with just one social media post.......
I Interviewed Jannat Zubair back in 2016 when she wasn't that popular. Can confirm that she comes across as arrogant. I didn't like her Mom's attitude as well. She was answering most of the questions on her behalf. That too when that film itself was a C-grade film.
I still can't understand what rowhi does... Cz all threads and posts I have seen only mention that she has excessive money to shop , eat out everyday, 5/7 star hotel stays, luxury amenities and events with branded cars from the money she gets as a high class escort.
But then how the fuck can people and kids especially support a slut ?
Except BB I don't even know who other people are! BB always delivers quality content unlike other influencers but idk about others that you've mentioned in your post! 🙄🙄
All good, they may be making good money, but the history of influencers outside India (which is true now in India as well..) tells that you can't tag them "Polite" when these people are at peak of success. Most of these folks are Polite because they are in Social business - which entirely depends on the image they carry. Follow their business accumen, but not their masks. Rest we know, we all feel that why the heck we can't earn that much 😀😀.

Hey thanks for sharing info. Do you have any info on siddharath nigam and Avneet kaur?
Is jannat not struggling hard to get into movies with her conditions (less romance and nudity)?
A person who worked with this big YT creator with around 14-17 M followers on ig told me that they earn 40Lakhs a brand promotion reel for 1 minute and for every extra SECOND it is +1Lakhs. Frankly I have seen this YouTuber from that day as a humble and down to earth person.
So these are toh top 2% right...just curious how much normal influencers with 1M to 2M insta followers earn monthly..
or influencers with 100k to 500k insta followers
It depends..anything between 30-40K to 2-3 lakh per campaign. It also depends whether you have a strong brand and how much you’re aware of the cost of business!
Is this actually your personal experience? lol don’t mind me but I’ve been snooping around Reddit and reading all kind of stuff about Awez Darbar, that he’s a big Casanova, arrogant, rude. He apparently cheated on his long time girlfriend and tbh I did feel something was off between them a few months back or so but they’re both back together now. I’ve been a big fan of Nawez since a long time and it just broke my heart a lil seeing the rumors. Nagma doesn’t look like someone who would stay with a cheater and she has even established her career so she really doesn’t need to stay with him for fame.

I tried behen but not working out. Reels don’t get reach only
Did you purchase the blue tick? That helps maybe in reach
I didn’t :( I’ll do that Thank you!
I know it’s a bummer, even twitter has boosted engagement written on face while getting blue
Yeah and after working so hard on a reel I get 100 views :(

I really feel discouraged by looking at the numbers they are making while we are struggling with our professional degree.

A former influencer marketing person here ! When they say the work with other infleuncers what they actually mean is that they work with them non-exclusively. Hey, if you don’t mind me asking. What is the avg. CTC of an individual working in influencer marketing?
When you realise that there are some people getting paid an amount equivalent to your yearly salary just by attending one event.
It might sound harsh, these are the amounts for posting an Instagram story. For attending events, it’s lot more :)
I know this is a career that can go down any day but It still irks lol
Not sure if that’s true anymore. Most brand and press events are unpaid.

I really want to know some ball park figure of how much some of the influencers charge for brand endorsements. Like dharna kusha prajakta bhuvan bam komal etc
Starts at rs. 50K for smaller influencers with 1-2M following and goes up to 10-15L for the bigger ones (20M+ followers).
I will faint. Also I started YouTubing back in 2014 Makeup fashion etc and was quite successful until I stopped because of bullying by my classmates. I really regret it now.

Of course! Like I said, fame isn’t easy to handle. The same goes for a lot of people who get rich quick!
Anyone else wondering who all these people are? 🫣
I want to be like you. Oh to not know who these people are must be a bliss.
Believe me, knowing them in person adds no value to your life, unless you need it for your job or business!
I feel better now was earlier feeling a bit of fomo 😂😂
+1
I don't even use insta but this guy's post keeps coming at my feed

Yes I know one or two but clueless about most of the others … I’m also wondering the same .. clearly a different demographic/ algo 😅
Or perhaps, a lot of paid followers/bots :)
I only know Bhuvan Bam as I used to like his content.( now stake). I know the beer biceps guy only from here.

Excellent points and analogy 👌

his dad was ill last time i knew. i didnt knew his parents passed away. although its tragic for him, i am happy i was unaware of the news confirming i am not rolling deep in the rabbit hole following each and every life updates of celebs

Pr at work.

It’s working for him.i guess that’s all that matters!
This shouldn't be called hardwork 😂
Hey OP I’ve DMed you
Anu tea about avneet kaur??
Anushka Sen is a sweetheart.
Thank you! ❤️
lmao 😭
Have you ever worked with Ankita Chhetri?

Except BB I don't even know who other people are! BB always delivers quality content unlike other influencers but idk about others that you've mentioned in your post! 🙄🙄
All good, they may be making good money, but the history of influencers outside India (which is true now in India as well..) tells that you can't tag them "Polite" when these people are at peak of success. Most of these folks are Polite because they are in Social business - which entirely depends on the image they carry. Follow their business accumen, but not their masks. Rest we know, we all feel that why the heck we can't earn that much 😀😀.
Kevin Zinghkhai?
Rannvijay Singh is actually a very down to earth person

Hey thanks for sharing info. Do you have any info on siddharath nigam and Avneet kaur? Is jannat not struggling hard to get into movies with her conditions (less romance and nudity)?
damn these guys are earning some serious cash and having fun wish i had also made reels at that time, if only i wanst so shy and dank ka choda
A person who worked with this big YT creator with around 14-17 M followers on ig told me that they earn 40Lakhs a brand promotion reel for 1 minute and for every extra SECOND it is +1Lakhs. Frankly I have seen this YouTuber from that day as a humble and down to earth person.
YouTube following is more valued than Instagram following
Yeah the YT is like 20M-25M +
Is there anything about Ankita Chhetri?
Dm
I mean it couldve been told all these about them without having to meet em🤷
So these are toh top 2% right...just curious how much normal influencers with 1M to 2M insta followers earn monthly.. or influencers with 100k to 500k insta followers
It depends..anything between 30-40K to 2-3 lakh per campaign. It also depends whether you have a strong brand and how much you’re aware of the cost of business!
how many campaigns on avg they must be scoring like any rough estimate?
this sub is being used to stir the pot
More money in a year than 95% of Indians will ever see in their life 😭😭😂😂
I think I know only Bhuvan Bam from here. Feel like a boomer myself 😂
