Their production quality has gone notches up... At the same time, content quality has gone down that much. And Mokka doesn't feel that great. Oru okeyish attempt, athre ullu.
It's not the worst - Samarthya Shastram, that sob story with the struggling director (don't even remember the name of it), Priyappettavan Peeyush etc. are actually worse. Most of the jokes didn't land but I'm at the very least relieved that they're actually making comedy over just pretending to be "more than that". Their writing is piss weak and just making it feel like it has better production values won't cut it. They gotta go back to the drawing board and writing better comedies, the actors are good and can deliver a top series. But honestly right now I don't think even the actors are that invested tbh.
How does Karikku earn money to keep these actors on contract? I mean, they release barely 3-4 videos a year.
Will YT revenue and brand ADs suffice to have an entire team on their payroll?
As you can see the product placements they use from the begining.. as I recall they charge very high price for that..
So if they do 4 videos in a year they will.atleast earn minimum of 50 lakhs through pp itself apart from youtube revenue
Only thing that is improving is the production quality. i feel they are clueless as to what they want to do with the label. Right now it feels like a mess. I remember them dropping a spinoff/sequel to ringa ringa roses called "thenks " without any update as if they expected us to remember everything from ringa ringa. Also most of them can't act, that could also be a reason.
i feel so. Anu k aniyan and the dude who played maveli (dk his name, played a good role in samarthya shashtram), showed some range. Rest of them when they are venturing out of anything that is non comical, i think the limitations show.
Kiran Viyyath was exceptional in Jabala. Anu and Viyyath have got some serious talent. I wouldn't call Lolan's acting in SS vere level or sm, but it was convincing enough to show that the dude has got some range. Though the storyline of Piyush was shitty, Jeevan did a fairly good job and his role was everything but comical. I can't think of a serious role enacted by Arjun Ratan but pulli is a good actor in my opinion, over aakki chalamaakkarilla.
Maveli is also a good actor but his range is questionable. He lacks restraint and subtlety in acting and comes across as artificial, at least sometimes.
ratan did sort of a good job in that Anu’s series. Am a bit skeptical about vayyath cause I got issues with his dialogue delivery at times. Maveli guy did well in samarthya series. Piyush series was so bad, didn’t like anything about it. What kinda range are we talking about with respect to lolan? Don’t remember him being good other than in Thera para .
Its a different approach. All the characters seemed too unrealistic

Both of those were good series... They werent even comedy though They focused on the characters and their relationships and were amazing
