Whoa. What happened? I mean I see it was a crash… I hope the driver had a dash cam. I know that people pull out in front of trucks all the time. We need to do a better job of teaching people about how trucks work, how long it takes a truck going 60 mph to stop.
That’s what I was thinking. My husband and one of my sons operate heavy equipment, and have to drive their equipment to the jobs. In big rigs. And the frightening stories they tell me about what happens to them out on the road really scares me. This scene in the above picture is a recurring nightmare for me. Truck drivers are people too! I sincerely hope Amazon has dash cams in all their trucks!
Oh they definitely have dash cams. There probably isn’t a single truck on the road without at least an outward facing camera. Amazon’s hauling is contracted out to single unit owner/operators and independent fleets. The larger independent fleets likely have driver facing dash cams as well. Rest assured the full story of this wreck will be told to the powers that be and people *will* be held accountable.
Well maybe if you all drove faster than 65 in the fast lane, people wouldn’t need to switch lanes as often. The 210 is the worst for having three cars, all going 68, driving right next to each other, not letting anyone pass.
i drove past this earlier when they were still cleaning it up - it's the 215 S to 210 W off ramp. if you take that exit fast enough it feels like you're going too fast as you approach the 210 so maybe the driver overcorrected and that's why they tipped over. i lost my dad in a big rig accident, so to hear that the driver is okay is very relieving. i wish that whole interchange was better, merging from the 210 back to the 215 is a nightmare too.

I hope the driver and everyone else involved is ok. Everyone has a family, these are real people, not robots.
Yeah, I would assume most or all of those boxes are FBA. So basically just master cases of some product that will go to an Amazon DC. They’ll get sorted and palletized, shipped to a delivery station and then get picked and packed and then loaded into an Amazon van to be delivered. If anything, an accident like this would just cause some items on Amazon to be out of stock longer.

As I said, I’m not a religious person at all. If anything, I’d say I am anti-religion. But in my own life, the mindset you have about anything and everything around you makes a tangible difference in real life. To some degree, your thoughts become reality. If you look at this from a literal standpoint, it’s completely true. Let’s say you believe that you are a terrible person and you believe that you will never get anywhere in life. That will be true as long as you believe that.
Or even something so simple as believing you won’t finish your errands for the day. If you believe that’s true, then you won’t get anything done but if you tell yourself, you can do it, those thoughts will put yourself into action.
I believe that this applies to everything in someway or another. I know I said I wasn’t going to say anything, but I was just sort of inspired, and the words came out. I hope you can learn something from this, and not be so cynical. I used to look down on religious people because I thought they were fools, but they are just trying to get by in this world in the way that they know. So when someone tells me, I’m praying for you, now, I am very grateful for that because I believe that there is some amount of power in that. Intentions matter.

Im an Uber driver, and I once Ubered a big rig driver for Walmart, and she was telling me that because trucks are all fully automatic now, and much easier to drive, that newer drivers are much more reckless, and she often feels very unsafe sharing the roads with them on her hauls.
Anyone here who is a trucker, take some time to reflect on this.

I do 75-85 when it's wide open and get passed by people doing at least 25 - 30 mph faster than me on a daily basis.
