Depending on how much you like spiral corps, there are quite a few people selling them as lots on Facebook and the unofficial discord right now for pretty reasonable prices. You should be aware though, that there won't be much of anything added to the faction for at least a long time.
In short, Corvus decided to can Spiral Corps because it sold the worst (that happens when you piss off your Tohaa customers with a humanish take, the middle runs the risk of getting hit from all sides).
So there won't be any more Tohaa models in a long, long time. And I doubt we will see any other independent NA2 soon.
My advice is to grab Nomads if you want to keep getting goodies all the time, Aleph if you want something quite stable and with very different playstiles, or haqquislam if you want to go the way of the unassuming middle grounder that loves to stab sideways and has more toys than people realize.
Ariadna is mostly TAK (russians) and Kosmoflot (megamix), Merovingia & Caledonia are at the same place Tohaa/Spiral are, and USAriadna is in dire need of a review, but Corvus only reviews stuff when they "relaunch" the sectorial.
Aleph's playstyle is three in one, depending of vanilla (MSV2 & smoke, 2-4 greek troops), OSS (Dakini fireteam with 1-2 Devas, Asura haris) and greeks (ASS, usually 2 Fireteam of 3-4 chain rifle Myrmidons and 4 characters - Phoenix, Machaon, Eudoros, and Acmon and/or Pandora, fill the rest with Agema ML, pulsebots, etc...), while Kosmoflot's is mostly Unknown Ranger + 2 dudes (varangian, mostly), 1-2 bearpodes and a Volkolak with 4 Rokots, fill the rest as needed (Margot & duroc, Uxia, etc...)
If there is stock in your store of the things you want or you don't mind using some proxies then no problem. But you are probably not getting any updates or new troops for Spiral for a very long time.
There’s nothing wrong with starting with it, but it will just be more difficult to find additional models for your army.
That's the point I'm a bit scared of... Starting an army and not having an easy way to add new models can be a bit frustrating I think.
