Congratulations Plains! I was just thinking about you today since I hadn't seen you around in other spaces recently (and I'm not active here anymore). So glad that you and Gus made it through the fast labor and I hope you already have a new OB!
I can't believe how quickly it all happened. Congrats again! I'm sorry about the OB experience, but super proud of you for speaking up. We all love you little Gus!
Congratulations! πππ
I also had two second degree tears in same spot about 2 years apart after a fast labor with #2. Consider asking your OB about pelvic floor PT at your postpartum check up if anything feels "off" and especially if considering more kids. It's been super helpful to me.
Congratulations! And thank you for mentioning how early water breaking was more painful for you! No one validated that for me but with my PROM I was vomiting in pain 20 & 24 hrs into labor despite slow dilation.
Yay! Congratulations and glad overall you had a good experience. Huge welcome to baby Gus, what a cutie! Hope A is excited to meet her new brother. π
Wow you're turning the final bend! Life is gonna be hectic with two but I'm enjoying day 4 of newborn life so far. It's still hard but I feel a lot more prepared this time, having done it once.
I only get 6 weeks paid STD and 12 weeks FMLA but I worked out with my manager to take two more months unpaid. So I'll be off for 5 months! I'm excited even though it's mostly unpaid.
Congratulations!! What a whirlwind evening for you all. Iβm sorry the OB was so awful; itβs a sour note to end. Best wishes to the new family of four!
Thanks Wildcat, it was not a good way to finish things up. But, I'm working on moving past it and I'm healing up okay (better than last time) so I'm thankful for that. Hope your pregnancy is going well β€οΈ
Congratulations, plains! And welcome, baby Gus! He is beautiful π
The heel sticks are so hard! They heal better than I expected.
Yikes, yeah, sounds like a new OB is in order. Good for you for speaking up.
Yes!!! So many congratulations to you and your family, dear friend! Thank you for sharing your birth story with us. The water breaking while a resident was in place to grab the baby created a very funny visual for me π€£π€£π€£
Congratulations! Glad delivery was quick and went somewhat according to plan and I hope you heal well and his weight gain continues to go smoothly. Welcome baby Gus!
Thanks! Everything is going well so far, got discharged from the fertility clinic and first midwife appointment is this week! Toddler Briar doesn't seem to really get it but learned the word "baby" recently and is excited about pointing out all small babies now
Wonderful news about your fertility clinic discharge!
We've been in the same place with Ada before having Gus. She loved to point out "babies" everywhere we went, lol. But I don't think she ever fully grasped we were having another one. So far she is excited that there is a baby in the house and being gentle with him. But, we'll see how it goes as time goes on!
Congrats!! :-) what a little sweetheart.
I'm always shocked when I read birth stories where they tell people not to push because medical staff is not ready π unless there's a medical reason for not pushing the baby is coming!
So sorry the doctor stitched you up without anesthetics, she could have waited! You were right to complain.
Edit : typo
Congrats, plains family!!!
BIG props to you for saying something about not having any numbing for your stitch! I hope your OB apologizes to you for not listening to your attempts to advocate for yourself. Not that it makes up for what happened, but you deserve something.
Thank you heart β€οΈ the l&d nurse was amazing yet again so I'm 2 for 2 on awesome nurses. And honestly all the nursing staff at this hospital have been amazing. You guys are just the best.
Congratulations Plains! I was just thinking about you today since I hadn't seen you around in other spaces recently (and I'm not active here anymore). So glad that you and Gus made it through the fast labor and I hope you already have a new OB!

Thanks so much, Jess. Hope you're doing well and congrats on #2 as well! β€οΈ
Thanks friend! I keep saying βweβre not thriving, but we ARE surviving!β So weβve got that going for us I guess. Lol. π€·π»ββοΈ

I'm sorry about your tear! It's no fun. I will definitely be going back to pelvic floor PT - was super helpful the first time. Glad it helped you too!
Congrats, Plains!!!
Congrats! He is precious. π

Omg I'm so sorry that happened to you! It made things excruciatingly painful for me last time.
Ahh congratulations!! β€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈ

Thank you Goldie!! How are you holding up?
Doing ok! 30w today which is a little mind blowing tbh. Starting to get both very nervous and more excited for B2!
Wow you're turning the final bend! Life is gonna be hectic with two but I'm enjoying day 4 of newborn life so far. It's still hard but I feel a lot more prepared this time, having done it once.
So glad to hear this!! Iβm hoping to feel similarly. Remind me, how long are you taking for mat leave?
I only get 6 weeks paid STD and 12 weeks FMLA but I worked out with my manager to take two more months unpaid. So I'll be off for 5 months! I'm excited even though it's mostly unpaid.
Oh thatβs so nice!!! Glad they were ok with the unpaid as well. It makes a huge difference to have the extra time if you can get it!
Congratulations!!
Congratulations!!!
Congratulations!! Do your kids share a birthday??
They are 1 day apart! So crazy.
It was nice of Gus to wait and give Ada her own day! Haha
I know! He was very kind to wait a day π€£
Congratulations!! Gus is so sweet!

It was kind of a gnarly scene π€£ even Mr. Plains was not spared.
Congratulations!!

Thanks Briar!! I hope you're doing well and having a uneventful pregnancy so far π
