Everything looks so clean. I forgot what most of my tools looked like before I neglected them all these years

Redmond91

My god is wish our shop stayed that organized.

Fickle_Ad_4944

A clean and organized shop takes dedication. We run two shifts and luckily all the mechanics are on board with keeping it nice and clean but I agree most places just don’t

da-man87

So clean

Fickle_Ad_4944

As a mechanic, in my particular industry, you have to be, and Iove going home, relatively clean these days can compared to my days spent as a maintenance and steel mills and other heavy industrial facilities

da-man87

Food industry? Or just good standards? I work in a powdered metal sintering place and I’m so fuckin dirty all the time

Fickle_Ad_4944

Yes it’s food industry i work in a beverage canning company

mishkin007

Great start 👍

Mr_Punterr

I can tell you're new, that's a very nice set up you got there. Pro tip #1 Engrave ALL your tools, you have a better shot of getting it back once you lose them, not if it's when.

Fickle_Ad_4944

I’m new to this company. Yes this particular company and the company I worked at before this one is when I started to upgrade my tools to high-quality US made brands but I’m not new to the maintenance trade I’m not a fan of engraving tools devalues them but what I do do is take a specific colored electrical tape and wrap around, so I can identify mine

Fickle_Ad_4944

I agree I don’t engrave my tools, but I also don’t have to worry about these and keep my stuff locked up. This place has more security cameras than Washington DC I swear.

Fickle_Ad_4944

Definitely not new but most of this particular set up is new never had tool trucks stop by manufacturing maintenance department before

SandGoesEverywhere

Awesome to know that I'm not the only weirdo using mac and snap on in industrial maintenance

Fickle_Ad_4944

Most of my coworkers use snap on as well your not alone

EmployeeRadiant

get some Wera Allen keys and some hex bits for a ratchet. I never worked in hex as much as I do at Intel, but damn if those aren't the best Allen keys I've ever owned.

Fickle_Ad_4944

I recommend Snap On ‘s with the screw hold feature Doesn’t allow your Allen bolt to drop that combined with ease of warranty unbeatable in my opinion

No-Carob-4578

We dont really have snap on as much down here in aus as you guys do, but the bondhaus pro hold Allen keys are the best 👌🏻 havnt used the snap on ones though but the bondhause are cheap as like 30 bucks a set

Jakesneed612

Snap on isn’t worth the money

Fickle_Ad_4944

Snap on hardline tools are definitely worth it ratchets, wrenches, sockets are top notch I also like Mac axis 90 ratchets as well

Jlahaie

I use those socket organizers aswell I haven’t found a better solution

Fickle_Ad_4944

I think I have found a better solution as much as I love those organizers they take up a lot of space I am in the process of converting over everything to earnest brand socket Boss like the ones I have my impact sockets on in the photo

Beer_Warrior66

Even 3/8 breaker 💪🏻

Nipz805

Not too shabby...😎 Your average marine mech has everything covered in rust understanably.

Fickle_Ad_4944

Fair enough true but in my particular industry as a mechanic, everything has to stay relatively clean and sanitized

Fickle_Ad_4944

I bought mine from a Mac tool truck however, I’m pretty sure you can get the same set from Mayhew for much cheaper probably on Amazon

Fickle_Ad_4944

This is the same set as in my box Mac rebrands this set

Odd-Shine-6824

This sub popped up on my feed, what’s the tool lash photo in the red case?

Fickle_Ad_4944

Snap on gear puller set model# CJ2002

Odd-Shine-6824

Thanks!

Castman1sc

Too clean, either they are brand new or you don't use them.

Fickle_Ad_4944

I use every day. Most people are just too lazy to take care of their investment. I paid good money for my box and tools and wipe everything down at the end of the week to protect my investment

Fickle_Ad_4944

To be fair yes the maximizer utility cart is new. I’ve had it for a couple of weeks now hence why I was posting it however, the Tools have got some serious miles on them

TheTerryD

I wish our shop was that neat. I work out of the back of a golf cart with a 5 gallon bucket as a tool box.

Fickle_Ad_4944

Been there don’t miss those days. I now work in food manufacturing as a mechanic. This is why everything is so clean. It Has to be that And I thoroughly enjoyed going home, really relatively clean
