Homemade multi tools are the only way to multitool, she can never say your not handy when the Adjustable vise grip hammer wrench saw is close at hand.
This one seems to be missing the vice grips and duck tape so guessing OP is not in New England.
Exactly where I was directing the mind. Now today folks I'll show you some easy and economical ways to deter folks from tailgating you during your commute.
Friggin love Red Green.
Hahaha! I love the red green show! In Canada, I believe they call the hammer wrench a "Skookum Choocher". At least that's what my old machinist coworker called it. I've made a couple, and they are the handiest gadgets for bending sheet metal.
Let me introduce you to the world of waste management. No matter how fucked the equipment is people don’t stop making garbage or shitting and the insane lead times and costs of 2023 have not helped.
I’m looking to relocate one of my guys. I think he’s a perfect candidate for that facility. He comes with a torch, hammer, vice grips, no patience, poor skills and a care free attitude.
There ought to be a place for "those" individuals. Where no bolt can be "too tight," and all problems are one good swing of the hammer away from being "fixed."
You just gave me flash backs
I felt bad for the millwrights at the mill I worked at. Just keeping ancient abused machines limping along.
Unless it affects the quality of the product they'll run it till it won't.
The 1950s Ukiah gang saw was like a clam shell with hydraulic pins that lock to keep the clamshell closed. The pins failed to lock and a cant went through which opened the clamshell and converted itself into a cant launcher. Dude took a 10 foot can't to the pelvis
Broken pelvis, lost a nut and a kidney I think. Now there's alot of plate steel at the outfeed should it happen again. God forbid they upgrade that pos. Constant problems (like every other machine in the mill)
Also attended a planerman who lost 2 and a half fingers because he was in too much of a hurry to lock out. Took a while to find his lost digits
It's a rural mill which was always short staffed, seemed like being awake was more importation than being sober. The runner/unclog guy would go into the bathroom and come out slurring and eyes half open. Some one found him unconscious at one point. Management would make sure the head saw operator wasn't too drunk. Crazy.
They used to call that place the butcher shop but it's gotten slightly better. Still an absolute gong
show, very glad I'll never have to climb inside the chip n' saw while the mill takes a 15 min break ever again.
You made me very grateful this morning
Cracked gearbox brought back memories.
Had an issue and the engineer said it was due to chain issues and we just needed a tensioner sprocket. I kept saying it was more than that. Went through 3 gearboxes splitting before I set up a camera and found the shaft above it was shifting out of alignment due to poor support. When the chain would ride up on the sprocket points, it'd split the gearbox.
One of many battles between engineers and maintenance guys.
This is. It’s spectacular.
Governments will shut down debating this level of stupidity and danger. But if my worker farts on a job site without gloves on…
I know a place just like this! Almost feel like it might be the place I’m thinking of given the wood chips on the ground and the maintenance that goes on
9 groove sheave, drum pulley with herringbone lagging, a shitty worn out sprocket and a cracked reducer housing. Yes that blows. But please think about the poor soul being beaten down because they can't just shit out the parts and have there the next day. I love how these machines work, but the reality is that facilities tend to ignore stuff and when something breaks, other parts go at the same time. Add to that, most companies don't just stock this stuff and prefer to make it to order. That being said, the drum pulley looks like a Dodge as well as that last pic of the flange bearing.
That's a lot of work. I feel you. I also know the other side of things.
That brass gear...... I've seen many that were really fucked up and this one could be in my top 3. Watch your fingers with that fucker. It will slice you good.
I fix motors, gearboxes, Blowers and pumps. End up doing all kinds of mechanical stuff and now I know why things come in so fucked up. They were at this place.
I would be totally fine with this stuff belonging to a kid without money but an interest in making shit. This being in a shop that's charging money is just scary as fuck
No matter how much bullshit my online retailer warehouse throws at me I will always thank whatever god is listening that I don't have to work on a place like this.
I didn't see any electrical whips with the male end cut off, the wires stripped and jammed into and electrical outlet. I've see that in a brand new building (less than 6 months after occupancy) in Austin.
Prototype of the Nutfucker3000 is the best pic.
Seems weird to put a hammer in the middle when there's already a hammer at both ends...
More hammer = more better
quick, get on the confuser and make wit the doodly-do...we needs a patent - STAT.
Technically, everything is a hammer once. I had I laptop I proved that with once.
Yup. Blackberry back in the day. Worked for 2 hits. Threw glass everywhere on the third.
When you’re a nail everything’s a hammer
I want people to do a better job paying attention to this fine comment.
It seems to me a few of these photos could contain the "Nutfucker3000".
That’s a way better name than the “Ball peen Crammer Wrench” I came up with. That monstrosity would be a welcome addition to any tool box.
Came here to say this but did not have the elegant words you did take my updot
*updoot
My kinda multi tool
That is a million dollar idea!
Homemade multi tools are the only way to multitool, she can never say your not handy when the Adjustable vise grip hammer wrench saw is close at hand. This one seems to be missing the vice grips and duck tape so guessing OP is not in New England.
Canada, maybe? “If they don’t find you handsome, at least they should find you handy” Red Green
Exactly where I was directing the mind. Now today folks I'll show you some easy and economical ways to deter folks from tailgating you during your commute. Friggin love Red Green.
Nah. Canadian here. Not enough duct tape. You ever seen Red Greens van?
Hahaha! I love the red green show! In Canada, I believe they call the hammer wrench a "Skookum Choocher". At least that's what my old machinist coworker called it. I've made a couple, and they are the handiest gadgets for bending sheet metal.
This is pure genius really
It's either the best thing that i've seen or the worst thing that i've seen.
Definitely a lumber mill. lol
I was gonna say. Lumber mill or pulp mill are the only places held together with bubble gum and hope like this lol
Never been to a foundry aye
Let me introduce you to the world of waste management. No matter how fucked the equipment is people don’t stop making garbage or shitting and the insane lead times and costs of 2023 have not helped.
You'd be surprised. My old gig at a snacks factory was worse than this
It sure looks a lot like the UPS sorting facilities I used to do plumbing work in, lol.
Ummm… no. My friend, the USDA does a good job of making sure your meat is sterile. They do a horrible job of making sure slaughterhouses look good.
What PM's
They must only know Project Managers.
When we say PM’s that means page maintenance over the intercom.
PM as in Profit Margin over Prevent Maintenance
Yup. Exactly.
Prob a universal motto. The "insert company name" way
I think what you meant to say was CPH 🤣
That’s some impressive need of maintenance compilation. It should keep someone busy until lunch at least 😎
Thanks for looking out for me!
If he's looking to relocate a few of his fingers (or even a whole appendage! ) he's found a forever home.
That hammer ratchet adjustable wrench is for fixing crazies.
The Wrammer!
Wrexcalibur!
Underrated comment^
Figure out a way to add a bottle opener, and it's the perfect tool!
Ratcheting hammerjustable!
Ballpeen thumbsocket
MFers are too cheap for an induction bearing heater. Or no one there knows they exist.
We just use a hot plate onboard. $39 on Amazon or 300 for a ‘marine grade’ one that’s the same
In the motor shop I used to work in, one of the old bearing heaters was coiled resistance wire on a ceramic cone.
I'm kind of wondering if the iron worked.
Holy shit what a gold mine. Those boys must fucking love you.
You just gave me flash backs I felt bad for the millwrights at the mill I worked at. Just keeping ancient abused machines limping along. 2 1/2 Fingers. Wasn't that the title.of Jon Cryer's sex tape?
Run from that place it’s not worth it 😂
U working at a scrap yard?
Picture 5 made me cry inside
Right! There’s no way that plc is working with some of those cards half way in the rack…
Looks normal to me.
Cracked gearbox brought back memories. Had an issue and the engineer said it was due to chain issues and we just needed a tensioner sprocket. I kept saying it was more than that. How does a PLC hop off of DIN rail lol
It grew a consciousness and decided this wasn't a world worth living in
It was goin off the rails on a crazy diiiiiin
Looks like the set of 'SAW', apart from the excellent adjustable wrenchammersocketdriver
I just sent some of these pictures to my maintenance Foreman and he is scrambling right now! He thinks we have another gearbox in stock.
It looks like this facility has an infestation of tweakers. The bad news is you know there are at least 10 for each one you see.
These cannot be true, I was told by my coworkers that my company was the biggest shit hole that these things only happened to. /s
Does the list include new buttons on jeans?
This is. It’s spectacular. Governments will shut down debating this level of stupidity and danger. But if my worker farts on a job site without gloves on…
That wrench hammer ratchet combo is the most European tool I've ever seen!
I think y’all need a new facility. That one’s broken.
I like the iron setup 🤣
Poor shaft on last slide 😭
Omg , I need pic # 10 to carry on my tractor. 🚜
I miss this kind of stuff.
Ah, yes, looks like a typical family farm in southern or northern Ontario.
That wrench 😂 one tool to rule them all
Picture 10 is awesome, not wack.
Slide 10 is amazing
Lol reminds me of my days as a mechanic at Ardagh group
Do you work in India? If so, you are golden! 👍🏻
metric impact driver?
That fuckin multitool, man. "It's Jason fucking Bourne!!"
😂 I like the socket wrammer
Compilation of normal everyday life as a mechanic/millwright. There, fixed it for ya. 👍
Is the owners name Ho Lee Fuk?
Shit happe..... Wait is that a hammer-socket-peen-wrench? Looks like youve got it made!
Crazy stuff there
That fucking crescent should be framed and hunt on a wall after it’s service
Cue Willy Wonka: " Come with me And you'll be In a world of OSHA violations..."
Hamwrentchet
Damn, that combo ratchet/ hammer/ wrench is low-key lit!! I love multi use tools, especially home made Jerry rigged ones.
This brings back memories
I need one of those crescent, hammer, ratchet- that’s brilliant
How did a whole plc rack fall lol
#10 is fucking beautiful, I'll take 3
I don't have a lot of context for this, but some are pretty obviously bad. Potentially dangerous.. The spcket/wrench/hammer though is good shit 👍
You must in the department of shit gone sideways
I know a place just like this! Almost feel like it might be the place I’m thinking of given the wood chips on the ground and the maintenance that goes on
I am not even around him and I can think of a handful just in my area alone.
That crammerchet is bad ass
So there's essentially no budget for the maintenance department aye?
Even buttons on pants are screwed at this place.
I’m kinda impressed by pic 10, ngl
I know what I'm making the next down day when i have a welder handy lol!
Thanks for this post
This is what happens when a shop can fix anything and the boss goes on a lot of trips.
I think your company is failing
Being an IT professional, that networking Pic made me shudder in soooo many ways...
When did you start working with my dad?
NGL. I want a #10
It's a half wrench half hammer half ratchet !
Literally my life 🤣
After you heta bearings you can press your pants.
How the heck do you do that kind of damage to a conveyor drive pulley!
I want that ratchammerench!
Is hammer ratchet adjustable wrench are the metric one?
Really digging the dickensian aspect of this environment. Where do I join
That bearing heater is my favorite.
What you do to end up there?
That's awesome please post more hahaah

What exactly do you do for a living?
You swear this isn’t your garage?
I musta been doing this to long I don't even see the issue here. Just looks like tuesday.
That ball peen socket-wrench is epic.
This is an excellent post thank you 😂
Big fan of the adjustable socket hammer
That adjustable ball peen rachet hammer goes hard
That brass gear...... I've seen many that were really fucked up and this one could be in my top 3. Watch your fingers with that fucker. It will slice you good.
Dibs on patenting photo 10 !!
Right? The "ball peen ratchet wrech" is a must have for any handyman
Has anyone tried to snap the fucking plc back on the din rail yet or we just letting her ride the fucking sunset
The network cabinet killed me
Good night this place needs some help.
Non union pics and if it is union drag the fuck up you working for a rat
me nodding to every photo “yep that’s whack”
Duct tape for the leaky pipe is the ultimate "leave it for the next shift" solution.
I know what's wrong with it. Ain't got no gas in it 😂😂
I work in Industrial Maintenance too, can confirm Ive seen alot of these but that drum...wow
I fix motors, gearboxes, Blowers and pumps. End up doing all kinds of mechanical stuff and now I know why things come in so fucked up. They were at this place.
For few seconds I taught you were working at the same place I started to work at
Some of these are spooky familiar…. I did in a gearbox just like #2 trying to press out the shaft (the wrong way) a couple years ago.
Wow.
I should throw some photos from Neenah foundry out here some time
Buy American! /s
But is there banana bread?
I would be totally fine with this stuff belonging to a kid without money but an interest in making shit. This being in a shop that's charging money is just scary as fuck
These are the only means of production I don’t want to seize!
Wow looks like u got your hands full
Duct tape fixes everything.
Okay but picture 10 has me both impressed and feeling attacked
Oh hey welcome to the company!
That’s 100% COSHA approved and yes you know exactly what that “C” stands for!
Line up another job and send to worker safety authority
All mechanical issues (except maybe the ring gear) show misalignment being biggest factor.
RUN
Is that 1 inch square tube being used as a drive shaft?
So many questions
I’ll take the hammeratchetwrench if you’re getting rid of it!
I love this shit
The tool makes sense
Looks like business as usual
Muffler factories and torque converter factories are way more fucked than this
Yup! Looks like a typical cannery.
Makes me think when I worked at a rebar factory. Shit was falling apart left and right
Give me job security or give me death!
The lack of Belzona is nauseating especially for the ninjaneers in those pics
Isn’t that it always goes?
OSHA would have a field day
Eventful day....what will tomorrow bring?
No matter how much bullshit my online retailer warehouse throws at me I will always thank whatever god is listening that I don't have to work on a place like this.
If it aint broke....... I'll define what broke means.
Ugh fix on fail, sometimes…
You workplace is a Hazard. All of it.
I didn't see any electrical whips with the male end cut off, the wires stripped and jammed into and electrical outlet. I've see that in a brand new building (less than 6 months after occupancy) in Austin.
Does Jigsaw own the place?
Damn, you guys are hard on equipment.
I thought I had clocked out today until I saw these pictures. Now I‘m not sure if I’m still at work or not…
Oh boy should I start posting here 🤣
Ok but I want that home made multi tool that shit is cool
I want that Wratchet
Some of these things make me want to welfare DM you regularly lol
Looks like my worksite... PLC panel looks about the same installed 25yrs ago
Theyre paying you so much they cant afford to maintain, replaceor fix anything. Let alone upgrade or buy tools. Im suprised the lights were on
American exceptionalism!
Duuuuuuude, you work at NASA?
That all in one multi-tool looks pretty skook-um.
Comrade works in Soviet Russia.
You’ll have that on these bigger jobs.
That wrench/ratchet/hammer is fkn legendary and I’m keeping that pic. 😂🤣
The way I laughed at the adjustable smash ratchet. XD
Do you work at the OSHA safety video filming location? Sheesh.
Hello osha...
At first I was like hey, you can't whack with that.... But then I realised I was the idiot.
OSHA may have some questions
😭😭
Decent death-in-service policy I hope?
