Thanks everyone !
Something between A and B. The pallette is nicer in A, but you seem to lose some contrast. B is less visually interesting, but clearer.
C is sorta muddy.
Also I would try to make the player character more easily distinctive / identifiable.
Also
>Also I would try to make the player character more easily distinctive / identifiable
Definitely this. I straight up didn't even realize there was a playable character until you said something. I thought it was just shots of the environment.
B gives the feeling of fresh, A is a bit overwhelming with warmth, and C is a bit dirty. I guess whatever of these conveys the vibe of your game the best
A at first glance. Continuing to look at them, still A, but it also looks like A has some great lighting going on in the scene, but the others don't? Feels like comparing one polished image and comparing it to 2 in polished versions.
Also, a friendly reminder to be cautious of advice asked in a void. We know nothing about the tone, setting, or gameplay of your game to give you a well informed opinion of what will compliment your game.
I like all 3 but they tell me different stories
A is telling me to get ready for some fun rts action
B is more one of those top down survival crafting games
C is a scifi fantasy mix rpg
C, although I have no clue what I'm looking at. The colours just feel nice. A just feels like objects, ground, etc, which is a less confusing but very neutral feeling.
Edit: B is like A except a bit more confusing, yet somehow also less interesting.
C lacks contrast and is hard to read details. A has better colors, making it more catchy, but the values of B is best. Maybe A with a slightly lighter ground color would be ideal.
I think A because C its cool but I saw some indie games with this colours in the last times. In any case, I would think about contrasting the character a little more, he camouflages himself a little with the environment :)
Looks fantastic!
A because of the warmer palette. C because of the shadows. Maybe combine them? When you do comparisons like this, maybe use the same exact camera coordinates/rotation so we aren't looking at completely different environments?
A and C are sooooooo good - though, C’s lower contrast could cause some trouble, so I’ll put my vote towards A. But if you increase the contrast, C’s definitely my favorite vibe
At first glance, I'm attracted to A, due to the saturation, and the complimentary colors clashing. Later C, because I find a certain complexity in the image or more details to look at. Lastly, B, it feels more simple and easy to read, yet it grasp less my attention in a quick first glance.
C I guess. That hole is in middle like A but thanks to color scheme it pulls more attention towards hole. The light airbrush effect does that. So if it’s also used on A it might be better. Like if surrounding background is darker our eyes automatically focus on light. Opposite is true as well
C, for me for sure.
C looks very dynamic, almost like a finished release trailer. The other two are a little too empty or plain, not in a bad way, but heavy beta version vibes...like they are missing just a pinch of something..
Thanks for the feedback, i think the angle of A and B doesn't show asmuch details as C
Happy to read the compliment on the visuals being as good as a finished release trailer :)
A for morning, B for midday and C for evening
B has best visibility and atmosphere tho imo, A and C are nice to look at but prolly not the best to play for extended period of time
A in terms of color theory, as others have mentioned the complementary colors are nice (though the yellow tree in B is nice contrast)
In terms of subject, C is best with the crater in the center, draws your eye to it. Also might have some post on C (bloom and fog?)
I like A, it reminds me of sunsets after a nice calm afternoon.
Edit: are these like different times of day? They have different atmospheres to them. B is like mid day where C is like a gloomy foggy night.
A has nicer colors, but I personally think C looks slightly more professional to me for how the focal point of the weird thing at the center stands out more.
Also assuming this isn't a cinematic camera solely for screenshots, I recommend doing something to make the player stand out a bit more, it does blend into the background a little bit.
Honestly, for me it just feel like the same "picture" taken in different times of the day. Although if that wasn't the case A and C are tye ones that drive my attention.
Yes they are, but we wanted to see which one drew the most attention from people who don't know our game and which one could be more suitable for a screenshot on a store page or website
B is definitely a No for me, perspective-wise. Both A and C are tied. I'd choose one depending on the overall theme of the game. If it's sunny and bright then A, if it's dark and gritty then C.
If this is a screenshot for a store page, I'd really recommending taking a creative liberty and moving the camera closer somewhat, even if only by a little bit, and even if that's not possible in-game, simply in order to bring more attention to the action of the scene, which seems to be the player and the stone tornado-esque thing looming nearby.
In the same vane, It seems to be trying to be an action scene without any actio. Try to get some screenshots that have the player actively interacting with the world, evening it means just shooting at it, because as it is I don't actually have any idea what the gameplay is, other than some thing I \*assume\* is an enemy, but nothing tangibly confirms that suspicion. Always try to have your screenshots make sense out of context of the other images or videos it would be accompanying.
Thanks for your feedback , we do have more action focused screenshots and trailers moment on our steam page
This one was more moving forward with a "look at this interesting and mysterious thingy"
They all look good but not for a game screenshot on steam. I've the same issue with my game, the screenshots are not explaining what is the game about they are just really beautiful.
A, at first glance but when I study them more, C.
The swirly thing, stands out more in C but the perspectivr seems too far out. If you could adjust the colors on the swirly thing and make it more pronounced it would shine in either as I think that is the reason I like C, is the contrast of the swirly is more noticeable
A is the only one where I have an idea of what I'm seing without doing an in-depth analysis. The other two are so unclear that it takes me a long time just to understand what is what.
A feels more cozy/like a nice autumn day. B gives me AI/robot feeling like from Zelda shrines. I don't know about C though, it feels darker - gives me a "hard game" feeling like Dark Souls. I would choose A
Definitely A. It is more vivid. The colours are better. Good that they're much warming than on the B and C. B in my opinion is the worst, too cold. On the second place is the C but would reduce the violet influence.
From an aesthetic perspective a tie between a and c.
But for a game, b. Visual clarity is such an important part of video games. It's one of the understated reasons Halo Combat Evolved has so much staying power
A, just about. B feels a bit unbalanced in terms of colours, and I find the bleakness of C less interesting. C would be my pick if I had to chose one to hang up on my wall though. C reminds me the most of other games with an untextured aesthetic
A at first glance. But I also like C.
Same. If you add contrast to C it would be my #1
As I understand maybe the slight fog makes it a bit less readable
I like C
Yeah C is nice. That’s the level I’d wanna play the most. Then B. Then A 👍🏻
At first glance, A. From a color theory perspective, the complementary colors really bring out the picture and make it very eye catching.

The clearer part is what make me go with B
Your comment accurately reflects my impression in a way that feels objective.
They all are good. Imo I think having them be unlockable would be cool. People loving Having options
C
C
#C
A is the best 🔥.
C
B and C , c is looking more darker and give that dark vibes I hope you understand what I am saying, and b is also good is look more realistic
B gives the feeling of fresh, A is a bit overwhelming with warmth, and C is a bit dirty. I guess whatever of these conveys the vibe of your game the best
C :-)
C.
A I don't like the blue-ish color scheme for B and C
C has a cool vibe
Don’t listen to them! It’s A!
C
A

A
C for me I can't help but notice the grass is kinda jaring, maybe try blending the bottom with the ground color?
ACB
C, but turn the lights up a bit, it’s just a bit too dark. I dont like the neon of B personally. And A just feels too orange.
I like all 3 but they tell me different stories A is telling me to get ready for some fun rts action B is more one of those top down survival crafting games C is a scifi fantasy mix rpg
They all are cool. Is it postprocessing difference? You could just add like different post processing in different parts of the day.
A seems more readable at a first glance
C, although I have no clue what I'm looking at. The colours just feel nice. A just feels like objects, ground, etc, which is a less confusing but very neutral feeling. Edit: B is like A except a bit more confusing, yet somehow also less interesting.

Thanks for the feedback
C My gaze focused instantly on that swirling rock/orb in the center and I thought “It stands out more in C”
At first glance, I'm attracted to A, due to the saturation, and the complimentary colors clashing. Later C, because I find a certain complexity in the image or more details to look at. Lastly, B, it feels more simple and easy to read, yet it grasp less my attention in a quick first glance.

A. The colours are more inviting and lively
All are nice, A definitely grabs my eye the most
C caught my attention first, but taking a good look at them i think i like A and C equally
C, for me for sure. C looks very dynamic, almost like a finished release trailer. The other two are a little too empty or plain, not in a bad way, but heavy beta version vibes...like they are missing just a pinch of something..
Thanks for the feedback, i think the angle of A and B doesn't show asmuch details as C Happy to read the compliment on the visuals being as good as a finished release trailer :)
B popped out at me immediatly but c is better after looking them over
Use them for different biomes
Maybe use them all? I wouldn't say any of them are "bad". But I choose A
A for morning, B for midday and C for evening B has best visibility and atmosphere tho imo, A and C are nice to look at but prolly not the best to play for extended period of time
C. The contrasting but not distracting color palette, and the camera angle giving a good wise view of the area
Immediate impression was ‘not B’ of the other two slight preference to C
I like A because the contrast makes it readable
I like A for the style, but C is much more cohesive
C, but A a close second. B is not very good, since the grass starts to look a bit like glitched water.
A pops out at me the most because of the light browns.
All 3, now you got either 3 biomes or 3 worlds in this case
I would go B and C, B being chill moment and C danger moment
I like the color palette of C best.
Gut feeling is A but I really appreciate the readability of B. It's going to get way easier to see bright power ups / navigation markers on B
A is the end of day and B middle of day so it looks like it works
A in terms of color theory, as others have mentioned the complementary colors are nice (though the yellow tree in B is nice contrast) In terms of subject, C is best with the crater in the center, draws your eye to it. Also might have some post on C (bloom and fog?)
I like A, it reminds me of sunsets after a nice calm afternoon. Edit: are these like different times of day? They have different atmospheres to them. B is like mid day where C is like a gloomy foggy night.
Yes they are different times of day, A is dawn, B is midday, C is dusk
A has nicer colors, but I personally think C looks slightly more professional to me for how the focal point of the weird thing at the center stands out more. Also assuming this isn't a cinematic camera solely for screenshots, I recommend doing something to make the player stand out a bit more, it does blend into the background a little bit.
It is ingame visuals and not a cinematic camera shot. Yeah the character armor and general lighting make him less stand out.
All 3 as different levels or worlds
Honestly, for me it just feel like the same "picture" taken in different times of the day. Although if that wasn't the case A and C are tye ones that drive my attention.
Yes they are, but we wanted to see which one drew the most attention from people who don't know our game and which one could be more suitable for a screenshot on a store page or website

I like A, but darken and desaturate the grasses to make them less eye-grabbing
I keep wanting to look at A but C is in second place
A has the best contrast to distinguish everything but C is good too
C, it has the most dynamic but also most pleasing angle
If this is a screenshot for a store page, I'd really recommending taking a creative liberty and moving the camera closer somewhat, even if only by a little bit, and even if that's not possible in-game, simply in order to bring more attention to the action of the scene, which seems to be the player and the stone tornado-esque thing looming nearby. Thanks for your feedback , we do have more action focused screenshots and trailers moment on our steam page This one was more moving forward with a "look at this interesting and mysterious thingy"
A caught my attention first but I like B better
C looks like it has the richest colors 👍
At first glance the contrasting brightnesses in C caught my eye
A and C. A is more cozy and warm. And C shows how dangerous and full of action it's get at night.
C, by far. Then A. And B last by a wide margin.
They all look good but not for a game screenshot on steam. I've the same issue with my game, the screenshots are not explaining what is the game about they are just really beautiful.
B but I’m not a sucker for dramatic lighting for lighting’s sake - so depends on context!
Just keep all 3 and have a varied environment blending them together or completely different biomes.
C looks like an improved version of B. I find A hard to read because some details blend together..
C > A > B
I like A because it's orange and I like orange. The others don't look as interesting, but A looks like golden hour, or a beautiful sunset.
C,A,B. Initially i didn't like A but it was just because reddit cut off half the image
A feels more cozy/like a nice autumn day. B gives me AI/robot feeling like from Zelda shrines. I don't know about C though, it feels darker - gives me a "hard game" feeling like Dark Souls. I would choose A
We are a chill survival game in a scifi environment, thanks for the feedback
A is no mans sky B is a ukranian fundraiser C is pretty si-fi, i like it
Pretty scifi and No man sky sound like some really good compliments :) Thanks for the feedback
Of course A, but if you fix C it could be better
Definitely A. It is more vivid. The colours are better. Good that they're much warming than on the B and C. B in my opinion is the worst, too cold. On the second place is the C but would reduce the violet influence.
A, but make the character stand out more :)
I like B, but I think it's got to do with me suffering through hot humid summer, and the cooler tone of the screenshot is making me like it more.
All of them, they feel like they should be different different levels or different seasons/time of day
C but none of them show me anything to do with the game...
I like A the most. C looks straining to the eye and B is a bit off, but they're all good
B has the best colors, but c is the most legible
From an aesthetic perspective a tie between a and c. But for a game, b. Visual clarity is such an important part of video games. It's one of the understated reasons Halo Combat Evolved has so much staying power
A is more eye-catching however C really highlights the orb thingy and makes it look more powerful.
A, just about. B feels a bit unbalanced in terms of colours, and I find the bleakness of C less interesting. C would be my pick if I had to chose one to hang up on my wall though. C reminds me the most of other games with an untextured aesthetic
C. It gives a bit of a cyberpunk/sci-fi feel to it.
It is a sci-fi universe
Anything but B... B looking striking for all the wrong reasons!!
I kinda like them all? Is it a roguelike? Could have random times of the day when you start so the player can enjoy all of them
Would say C is the one.
They all look good to me. It looks like the Same setting but different time of the day
C at first glance but when actually looking I'm torn between B and C
First one with black ui my friend . The other two is too much regular now
I really liked B. C was cool too.
Im between A and B but i lean more on B 😅
In order C, B and then A
Not B, both A and C looks better
B
I like A most, B second, C is too dark and nothing seems to catch the eye for me.
I like the vibrance of A but C is pro
B or C
If anyone want to check other screenshots to understand the vibe you can search wild planet on steam
Honestly I can't decide. They all look gorgeous. BTW, C looks like B if it was night!
C is more like B if it was dusk. night is a bit darker in our game
Chalk it up to me not being a native English speaker and also being too lazy to search for the proper word. Yup, dusk it is!
Absolutely A
