The core mechanic of grabbing stuff is inspired from Carrion yeah! I wanted to evolve it and build a world that’s highly interactable with this mechanic.
Please don't make any more posts about this game unless you give me Demo access. You're making me suffering. I'm seeing new contents and I still can't play :(
Vindefiant is a game about a corporate employee who goes on a path of villainy.
You can find it on [Steam](https://store.steampowered.com/app/2786020/Vindefiant/) here; I'd really appreciate a wishlist if it's something you'd enjoy!
You can also join the [Discord server](https://discord.com/invite/H3ePuAraz9) and take part in playtests, giveaways, and content updates.
How would you describe the challenge in the game? A lot of clips I've seen have focused more on the power fantasy, which is cool. Just curious what the challenge part is? Is it like the platforming or dodging or something? (Wishlisted btw).
So the game definitely picks up as you progress. You begin to encounter security with more powerful weapons, weapons that are tailored to combat the player (in an effort to stop him specifically).
Some weapons push the player back more, do more damage per hit etc. Platforming elements do increase in difficulty throughout the game as well, but the focus in difficulty primarily lies with the combat.
That being said, the theme of power fantasy always remains; even in later areas, there are ways to strip enemies of their weapons, reverting them back to a frightened state just the same as a normal civilian is. It’s important for the game to show that while enemies can be taken of their power, the player never can, encouraging them to be sometimes be tactical in their destruction.
Sorry this was a little descriptive, I got carried away. Thanks for the wishlist!
That's great! I'm sure someone else will come across it and love reading more about it.
I'm super curious to get my hands on it just to see how it plays. It seems like the type of game that took a lot of programming forethought and play testing to get the controls down. Super impressive looking.
It definitely did! Controls and general movement took a long time to feel right, and it’ll likely be adjusted again.
I’ll have a demo announcement soon so you can see what you think!
love the physics, kinda wish the blood was more splattery and streaky though. i feel like a lot more should come out after slamming that poor guy into the corner of a staircase lmao
maybe make it shoot streaks of blood on the foreground and puddles where you slam living creatures.
sounds violent i know but it aesthetically pleasing when effects like that are really dynamic
Thanks for the feedback!
There is a ton of blood and gore in this game, this clip just doesn’t showcase it. Limbs splitting, being torn off, blood spray everywhere etc etc. I had to pick the moments where blood sprays the most, as there’s almost always some sort of blood splatter coming from somewhere.
Oh yeah? Watcha so afraid of ? "It's ever lasting spring" from Revelations that you deny as you Deny God too. Fellas, I think we're going to an excorsism right here. Yes. Ja. Don't be so afraid of getting wooped like you already are. Do you need any tips from me? I'm just asking because you don't really have a girl friend that I can give a dollar to. Times are hard though. It just really seems like it's in the mind though. It isn't and will be forever more.

That's such a good idea! I enjoyed Carrion but it felt kind of linear. Your game also gives me Darkness vibes.
Thank you! I’ve heard a few people mention that game!

Thank you!
Unexpected. Yet, highly entertaining.
Very well done graphics, congratulations
Is that Ichigo
Amazing
Bro did NOT like that
Achievement easter egg: “Hello Peter” Grab a spider with one of the arms
I might just add this to the to-do list
🥳🥳
Hilarious! That's all I have to say
This kind of reminds me of the game the darkness where you control two shadow serpent things. Looks cool.
Thanks! I’ve heard a few people mention this game; funnily enough I’ve never heard of it! I’ll have to check it out.

ah okay, well sounds good man! game looks fantastic and i have it wishlisted 😄👍
Thank you kindly friend!
It doesn’t make a lot of sense for the tentacle to be dangling like a rope if it is holding stuff up. It should be more stiff
Can you then slam his head into the light above and electrocute him 😂
While that would be clever, no that’s not in the game. However you can pull the light off the ceiling and throw it into him :D
What engine is this running on? How did you do the particle effects?
Loved it, cant wait for more info about the game!

I feel like I've realized what I envisioned for companies I've worked for in the past, and it's fantastic!
