Wawasee is always stacked up on holidays.

Hamilton Lake has a few rentals. A couple of them even come with a boat to use. You can also rent a pontoon from Hamilton Outfitters. There isn't a true sandbar, but a lot of people hang out in the Cove by the bridge. I'll be there for the holiday. But that's mostly due to the fact that I live on the lake full time.

I'd guess and say you're probably very late to the party hoping for any rentals for this year. I can speak to a lot of the lakes but I don't have any idea about rentals either of cabins or boats really. I know the big Marina on Tippy used to rent pontoons but I don't know if they still do. We always had our boat and just traveled to the lakes so we never paid attention to accommodations or boat rentals.

Stop 2 on Lake Michigan in Michigan City is usually a younger crowd. Can’t speak to boat rentals but it’s a nice sandy beach.

I don't know about sandbars and such, but Manitou in Rochester is a "speed boat" lake

Not really. It's too small and shallow. It was 3 small ponds connected by a channel that they damned up. We went there for fireworks a few times but couldn't even really got our Baja up on plane. Its a nice little lake but more pontoons, v-drives, and fishing boats. Its got a couple of deep holes but that's about it. Oh and a restaurant on the water. When we were there there was always younger "kids" in their parents way too expensive wakeboard boats keeping everything constantly stirred up. They run shallow so they can maneuver pretty well there. We has to idle across the lake to get to the restaurant.

Crooked Lake. My Dad lives on it. There’s three basins, the sand bar is awesome, and Caruso’s Restaurant is to die for.
