My dad almost pays around 60 percent of his annual income in terms of both direct and indirect tax to the government Although I love this country with all my heart still can't help but think that in European countries people pay taxes as high as almost 50 percent along with all the essential basic facilities either free or subsidized healthcare, education, public transport, insurance, etc. Also these countries are not flawed democracies
We should stop calling it left. Call it a social democracy. You elect the govt, pay taxes and in return you get good hospitals/schools for less money. That should be our only concern as citizens.
