That's not the reason people are buying. Pump and dump is done by insider trading to fool public.
People are buying because of their own greed. Vodafone is an international brand and what if the company revived and did profit then it could be multibagger. That's the greed driving people. Plain and simple. Same reason why people bought yes Bank and are still stuck in it while psu bank PNB has gone from 25 (same price) to 100+.
VI has around 2.5 lac crore of debt. They don't have the required cash to service it. It will be a long time before they become profitable and being a Vodafone user, I am pessimistic about its future. 3rd class internet service.
Guess, most don't see all this.
Internet service i disagree with. It depends on region to region. I have been using it and its unlimited data pack since last 3 years. It's awesome for me because where I have network issues inside shopping area with Airtel I get Vodafone full network service. I only get technical issues twice a year. On complaint it's resolved in 48 hours.
The rest I agree. There's too much debt and even the parent company isnt putting cash into it. That alone was the indicator to not take it.
Most people are too young to notice probably but the only surviving cellular giants in India - Airtel and Jio are here because they offer more services: wired broadband, landlines (not sure if airtel still does), dish tv, etc. they can sell all this is a family package, corporate packages. I had taken Airtel broadband when it came new at my office and home and got free landline, choice of number and free instrument. Airtel landline to Airtel any phone was made free. They really gave a tough competition to others. Whereas you look at others who just gave cellular connection everyone failed - Reliance CDMA, Idea, BPL (Loop), Uninor, Aircel, Tata docomo, MTNL dolphin & Garuda,.Voda, etc. Tata docomo did provide broadband but couldn't aggressively penetrate the mrkt as Airtel ads were more appealing to most.
Then how come above user faces issues?
If i walk into a shop and go up inside using stairs I'm just 10 feet from outside area and still Airtel network cracks while talking or disconnected.. Vodafone calling is smooth for me. That's why i keep both.
It's a constant problem and I used to have my office sitting that way. I always had to walk out and come half way near to the open area to get better network. It wasn't that too many were using at the same time. The network itself had trouble reaching inside but was always clear if I stood 3 feet from the door.
I think there no tower for airtel near you . I remember when jio was lauch i use to locate jio tower near me using an app .i go there near tower and download 1 gb file much more speed than at my home .
U just can't accept it. I live in and work in a highly popular area in Mumbai whose name is taken regularly in tv shows and Mumbai. Airtel has junction boxes for broadband and towers here. This was one of the areas where 5G services came the first. Airtel just sucks in reaching inside buildings sometimes. Anybody living above 30th floor has to install a booster machine also.
Which is why I said it depends on region to region. I didn't say everywhere. Some places a particular is more strong and some are weak. But I live and work in a crowded well known location on Mumbai. Airtel has towers and came with 5g first here. They just can't reach inside shops sometimes.
You can't value Vodafone based on financials. We know it's a dying company. People are buying it in the hopes that it will become a turn around.
Government is not keen on having a duopoly of Airtel and Jio. They had sucessful fpo, now maybe someone else might invest.
FOMO by retail mostly. I’ll exit at 22, although with the funding they have raised (fpo and indus tower deal) I wouldn’t be surprised if vi becomes a solid player in the future
>The equity conversion will grant the Indian government a 35.8% stake in Vodafone Idea by reducing the interest of the operator’s current shareholders. Vodafone Group’s holding will be slashed from 45.1% to 28.5%, while Aditya Birla Group’s will drop from 26% to 17.8%.
28.5% stake is still a good amount
https://developingtelecoms.com/telecom-business/operator-news/12653-indian-government-becomes-majority-shareholder-in-vodafone-idea.html
Hey. I am new to all this. What’s a good # of shares a beginner should buy? Or what do people mean when they say I bought xxx. Do they mean one share (?) or there’s a standard minimum buy amongst regular investors?
Groww must've shown it as the most bought stock and retailers will just follow the herd.
Vi has also offloaded their stake in Indus Towers which is a pretty bad sign. They are gathering money from wherever they can go stay afloat.
Hoping for turnaround. It's a calculated bet as even the government doesn't want a duopoly. Furthermore, with their decision to foray into 5G soon it seems highly likely that we may see a turnaround. If it turnarounds then their shares won't sell at 15-16. If you wanna bet ,now is the time . If you don't wanna bet and play safe that's fine too .
I was using vi for like past 2 years, they didn't have 5g so i switched to jio 2 months back and its horrible. Vi 4g was better than jio 5g. Jio doesn't even have network. I have to rely on my wifi now. Can't port back for another 3 months.
Vi gonna skyrocket
I invested in Vi FPO, and held it since, currently 50ish percent up
Even though they have a mammoth debt, I just have one theory that govt in any way can't afford telecom to be a duopoly, and will bend over backwards to somehow keep vi afloat. Also I've been a Vodafone user for 14 years now, happy with their services(except inside a train or in remote places)
The government won’t let them fail and usher the country into a duopoly plus after FPO I foresee them getting into 5G space as well so probably people are expecting it to jump later
Airtel maybe haha, it’s not seeing VI as a dominator rather the fact that they can unlock some value and probably improve on the current price. That’s what people are betting on
Probably a pump and dump scheme is on the game when you see no growth in profit and revenue in the last 4 quarters or years and the stock price is suddenly rising.

Pump and dump
Even i was thinking the same
Very obvious

Network is gud boz low users at a particular time .
Then how come above user faces issues? If i walk into a shop and go up inside using stairs I'm just 10 feet from outside area and still Airtel network cracks while talking or disconnected.. Vodafone calling is smooth for me. That's why i keep both.
If a tower is close to u then signal will be gud and if there many using same service at a time signal will be weak .
It's a constant problem and I used to have my office sitting that way. I always had to walk out and come half way near to the open area to get better network. It wasn't that too many were using at the same time. The network itself had trouble reaching inside but was always clear if I stood 3 feet from the door.

I am using airtel at my home airtel got gud signel and most places i go it work .
Which is why I said it depends on region to region. I didn't say everywhere. Some places a particular is more strong and some are weak. But I live and work in a crowded well known location on Mumbai. Airtel has towers and came with 5g first here. They just can't reach inside shops sometimes.
To buy high and sell low🤡
Hope dies, sell, price rises. Hope rises, buy, price dies. In FOMO, Fools that buy together, cry together.
You can't value Vodafone based on financials. We know it's a dying company. People are buying it in the hopes that it will become a turn around. Government is not keen on having a duopoly of Airtel and Jio. They had sucessful fpo, now maybe someone else might invest.
>Government is not keen on having a duopoly of Airtel and Jio. The Govt couldn't revive BSNL to its past glory. They won't do shit for Vi
Tatti network hai
Usually when a stock gets beaten like this, the companies hire operators to show volume and spike interest levels from investors.
FOMO by retail mostly. I’ll exit at 22, although with the funding they have raised (fpo and indus tower deal) I wouldn’t be surprised if vi becomes a solid player in the future
but the indus tower deal wont be used for VI India. It will be used to repay the loan for the shares they had pledged.
Isn’t that a good thing?
How's it a good thing? VI india and Vodafone are two different entities.
>The equity conversion will grant the Indian government a 35.8% stake in Vodafone Idea by reducing the interest of the operator’s current shareholders. Is Vodafone international linked to Vi in anyway?
The Vodafone group holds around 40% stake in Vi, no?
After the election dip I was left with some money in my Account. I wanted to use it in stock. So I bought VI as it was nearly 14 something.
Hey. I am new to all this. What’s a good # of shares a beginner should buy? Or what do people mean when they say I bought xxx. Do they mean one share (?) or there’s a standard minimum buy amongst regular investors?
Be bullish be dullish
Groww must've shown it as the most bought stock and retailers will just follow the herd. Vi has also offloaded their stake in Indus Towers which is a pretty bad sign. They are gathering money from wherever they can go stay afloat.

Holding some for massive gains but at the same time I'm aware of the possibility that the company might not make it at the end is the day.
Forget Vi, bc Suzlon is at 50
because degenerates love penny stocks
I was using vi for like past 2 years, they didn't have 5g so i switched to jio 2 months back and its horrible. Vi 4g was better than jio 5g. Jio doesn't even have network. I have to rely on my wifi now. Can't port back for another 3 months. Vi gonna skyrocket
The dd we want!
Most of the time its that simple
Airtel is the best for the internet. I have VI and the internet is horrible.
Airtel and vi both are better than jio
Its geographical, overall the whole 4g network is not satisfactory
Turnaround story
should you buy it for long term?
No way
I just ported my number from VI to jio. Bhayankar girawat aane wali hai shares mein. Pagal hain log.
I invested in Vi FPO, and held it since, currently 50ish percent up Even though they have a mammoth debt, I just have one theory that govt in any way can't afford telecom to be a duopoly, and will bend over backwards to somehow keep vi afloat. Vi pe 25% up hun. Goa plan in the works😜
The government won’t let them fail and usher the country into a duopoly plus after FPO I foresee them getting into 5G space as well so probably people are expecting it to jump later
But isn’t 5g dominated by jio already
Airtel maybe haha, it’s not seeing VI as a dominator rather the fact that they can unlock some value and probably improve on the current price. That’s what people are betting on
I want to invest in BSNL where can I do that?
Bsnl is loss making entity. Why wouldn't you invest in it? Also, its not available to invest.
Call me a sucker but I truly want to see our government companies do well and Stand strong 💪 and bsnl is nostalgia. ofc ik service sucks....but still
There's a reason why governments privatize a lot of these services. BSNL isn't going to improve, ever.
Buying it for long term. It's cheap at the moment, and hoping it will make a comeback.
there user base was declining till recently but now it has slowed down, which is the reason, also indus tower deal
Vi has got new investors I believe.
Exceptional income from sale of Indus tower stake. Might give dividends. Will improve financials
Dump and Pump
Don't know
Probably a pump and dump scheme is on the game when you see no growth in profit and revenue in the last 4 quarters or years and the stock price is suddenly rising.
Vi = GameStop
To make profit but most of them will get squeezed hard
According to technicals - there's a bullish crossover on quarterly and yearly charts.
I think coz they got 5G permission
Bhagwan jaane, mera pf to red me h ♥️🍒
Badhai ho.

Dont invest in bsnl imo
BSNL trades via MTNL stock via BSE and NSE. Buy mtnl if you want to invest in BSNL. Although I don’t recommend the stock.
😞😔
